  1. I was too young - they moved to Rich when I was 4 - but a friend’s dad told us about going to the Rockpile and having to pay neighborhood kids $5 or whatever to “watch their car and make sure nothing happened to it.” can confirm, I was at that game too. It’s up there with a Bills-Browns game I went to in 1980 as a kid.
  2. These teams are pathetic.
  3. the what bag, now?
  4. When I used to go regularly (my peak attendance was 1985-1998, which unsurprisingly coincides with the year I turned 16 and the year I got married), I didn't drink at all. Not because I didn't like drinking but because I wanted to watch the ***** game and not spend half of it walking up and down the stairs and pissing into a trough (or a sink). Anyway, we've reached that point in the team's development where the only thing that really gets the crowd going is a rivalry game or a playoff game. It was like that in the '90s for those of you who remember it. Games we should win, and particularly those of the non-conference variety, are just an excuse for people to drink more. And strangely enough, people who are wasted spend a lot more time half-conscious than they do screaming their lungs out. Also, I love how people are always surprised that they have no energy for a night game when they've been drinking since 9 am. Amateurs.
  5. All I know is this just means a whole lot of bad news for the Jets next week.
  6. Yes, this. The coaches don’t want him taking extra hits. Smart. But he needs to throw it away in those situations (he tried, once). And I bet if the game had ever really gotten close, Josh would have closed the deal.
  7. That’s…not good.
  8. Strange because I see all these people here discussing a loss.
  9. The Packers knew playing chippy was their only chance. The word has been out for a few years that we have some guys who will get emotional and take dumb penalties. Fortunately, except for Gabe that one time, they kept it in check. Teammates would always hustle over and get them away from confrontations. I liked seeing that.
  10. All true, and that is the extent of the thinking I will do on the Eagles until at least February. Perhaps longer.
  11. if you watched it, it isn’t really.
  12. As he showed late with no receivers at all to speak of, he’s still Aaron Rodgers. I was never worried, just slightly annoyed. We made more than enough plays to win the game. And won it by two scores.
  13. When the schedule came out and we saw Rams, Titans, Dolphins, Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs and Packers in the first seven, with four on the road, what did you think our record would be? We’re 6-1 and the one loss was when we were decimated by injuries and battling 120-degree heat. Yeah…I’ll take it.
  14. Fair enough. I was only 11 when the streak ended, so I didn't exactly agonize my way through it, but I could appreciate the historical significance. And they were just as easy to hate in the '80s and '90s, since they were the only other halfway-relevant team in the division most years.
  15. I’m gonna go ahead and guess that you weren’t around for the ‘70s
  16. Mac Jones is absolute hot garbage and I am here for all of it.
  17. We were supposed to be worried about either of these teams?
  18. Three. Shows you what BB thinks of Mac. Got to think it’s Zappe hour after the break.
  19. They’re not even going to let Mac throw the ball lol
  20. Seriously. It's like people can't read, weren't paying attention, or flat out refused to accept it. Or thought that the delay in renderings somehow was due to negotiations over roof type and location. I call them Stadium Deniers.
  21. They wore that combo in that game because they had no choice. It was 800 degrees and the Dolphins were wearing white on white at home, so the only other alternative was blue on blue, which would have felt even hotter. Blue on white is the classic home look. But as far as I'm concerned, they can wear paisley on plaid if they keep winning.
  22. I don't think the fact that he's been on teams that have won games against the Bills (see what I did there) is why his name comes up. He's not a bad guy like Watson or Wilkins, and he's not a cheater like Brady, but (a), he's annoying AF with his in-game body language. Every time a flag gets thrown, Mahomes is pointing in the offense's direction. And (b), he's become the new Brady in that announcers can't talk about other quarterbacks without mentioning his name. As in, "This QB is having a great day, I mean, he and Patrick Mahomes blah blah blah" or "that was a Mahomes-like pass" or "only a few guys can throw that pass, like Patrick Mahomes." You get this guy crammed down your throat no matter what game you're watching. I don't really hate Mac Jones either. He's kind of pathetic. Like a lot of guys on our team during the drought -- or on the Pats back when they were irrelevant for 20 years -- he's simply not good enough to hate.
  23. Local boy! I went to school with his daughter from second grade through HS. As for Sammy, he can have a blessed day.
  24. Like Josh Gordon?
  25. No, but considering where he came from, it's fun.
