You have this hang up with yardage totals while totally missing the point of this offense isn't going to allow any one person to put up a lot of yards. Week 1 - Josh completed 18 passes to 9 different receivers. He only had 2 attempts with just over 2 minutes left in the first half and the Bills went on to score 31 points in 31 minutes. Week 2 - James Cooked and Josh threw for under 150 yards and basically we took the entire 2nd half off. Week 3 - Josh competed passes to 10...thats ten...different receivers that resulted in 5 consecutive TD drives to start the game before the offense again just took the 2nd half off. But...you keep wanting to go back to individual yardage totals to say the group hasn't been good or impressive. Honestly don't think there could be a more inaccurate way to evaluate or grade the receivers performances the first 3 weeks than “total yards”. -
No one is talking about... Javon Solomon

He looks like the real deal. I’m excited to see him again this week. I loved the pick and been excited about him all offseason after he kept popping in camp. Be interesting to see how they use him with the everyone playing so well. -
Kudos to Allen, I never felt like he was "talking" about Diggs when he made his post game comments Monday despite the media uproar to try and make it that since. If anyone knows Allen he isn't one to try and throw people under the table, take subtle jabs, etc. So sick of the media always trying to make nothing into something, like let these two dudes be. Both are happy with the result, both are doing their own things and being respectful of each other. The way the media just tries so hard to make a "story" just gets old. Diggs was even on social media after Hamlins interception, like quit trying to force drama.

When was the last time anyone went back and read @JerseyBills original post that started this thread? I just did and if people remove their bias of wanting to be right about their own takes, I think you will find it was well written and thus far mostly been pretty spot on. Nice work...I agreed with you since day 1 and still do now. I like what we are seeing through 3 weeks, especially how Brady is varying the style, look, and play calling week to week based on the opponent. It will make it harder for teams to scheme to defend it on any given week. Still need to see how Brady and the O handle tougher tests where the opposing teams have more film to prepare against us, but hard to find much fault in your OP through 3 weeks and you should be getting more kudos for that. -
Ah that’s probably where the twitter post got it wrong then, thanks!

I agree, teams will adjust as we put more film on tape for them to gameplan around. BUT - I don’t know I have ever seen an offense in NFL history that was forced by the DC to beat them with just the deep ball. Like never seen a defense just shut down all avenues of the offense to the point the only option is to beat them deep. Will there be times where we don’t have a lot of time on the clock and need to get some deep shots or chunk plays, yeah probably, I can see that happening and that is an area where we haven’t had to see them do yet so we will need to see how they do. And as far as the DC not letting us run 12 play drives, well that’s easier said than done. Bills have guys across the board that can and have been making the plays. Being able to effectively run the ball and then extend that run game through short throws to the backs, Shakir, Samuel, etc puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you also have to account for Allen running. As those things move chains all day and opens up mid level opportunities and quality deep shots. And that is the most important thing…higher percentage quality deep shots, not just trying to recklessly force the ball downfield like Daboll and Dorsey stubbornly stuck too even when it wasn’t working. -
I hear you. While I do think Tyrod was the best QB between Kelly and Allen, that isn’t saying much and his competition for that title are scrubs. My thing with Tyrod is our offense scored compared to the QBs before him. His 3 years was the 2nd highest scoring 3 year period (pre Allen of course) to only the SB years in Bills history. It was maddening to see him somehow not see a wide open Clay running right over the middle in front of him, but at least we scored points compared to the previous QB’s of the drought eras. Dont get me wrong, I wanted to upgrade from TT too, but scoring points was a refreshing change from the previous pathetic offenses we had to watch. What drove me more nuts was how bad Rex ruined our defense and how bad that coaching staff was. Can’t believe I actually liked that hire initially at the time it happened because I thought he would at least elevate our D to another level. Gross. Can’t believe we suffered through 17 years of that inept level of football 🤢

I did I posted a lot that I felt this may be Josh's best season overall yet in this style of offense throughout this offseason. Where I am more floored is the defense. I had concerns about the defense and "perceived" lack of depth, the dangers of smaller LB's getting hurt, new pieces, etc. Then when Milano went down and Taron followed first quarter of week 1, I was quite concerned heading into half time against the Cardinals. But then, suddenly everything switched and this D has been dominant, the "lack of depth" concerns I had have been blown out of the water with unheralded guys stepping all over the field, Von has bounced back, the pass rush has been great, etc. Its been a masterclass in coaching across the board for the Bills and massive kudos to all the people who had to step up and done so very well thus far.

Someone on twitter said it was 34...they might have been mistaken. They probably added this week to the 27 not realizing it was already counted. Not sure how to even look this info up to confirm, but either way, 27 is wild still.

Im with you here on the very limited number of bad plays...but there are a few more. Allen Fumble - self inflicted 3 early penalties on the OL first half of AZ game 2 different missed throws by Allen down field to an open MVS Cook dropped TD pass...not the easiest catch, but one he needs to make Couple play calls I think Brady wants back Still...a very short list for 3 games in. I don't think I have ever been more pissed than when the news broke about Fitz new contract. He got it over one game then went on to average 1 TD a game the rest of the season except for the Bengals game where he had 3 INTS until their entire secondary got hurt and he made a 4 TD game comeback. He literally was trash almost every game that year and making it worse was all the people trying to argue to me that he was good and had a lot of TD's despite the fact they all came in just 2 of his games. LOVE FITZ the person, the mindset and style of player, guy off the field. But Ryan FitzPickSix the QB I had enough of as the Bill starter long before he wasn't the Bills QB here anymore.

He is too focused on Pistachios

hahaha whoops...I forgot that was last year lol. Yes, see you in NO!

I think Mack through 3 games is better than Davis ever was as a blocker, and that isn't a knock on Davis, that is all about how good Mack has been in this regard. Mack Hollins to blocking right now reminds me of Dennis Rodman to rebounding. He is all over the field like I have not really ever seen. And I do think he still brings more reliability, awareness, and versatility as a pass catcher.

Once in a lifetime QB...enjoy the ride Victories are total team efforts this season and a testament to the coaching staff Everyone Eats has resulted in Josh Allens best stretch of football maybe ever Rasul and Benford are playing like the best corner duo in the league right now Reviewing Beane's draft history looks a whole lot different right now Are you not entertained? Total domination since the first half of the Cardinals game on both sides of the ball Easily the best moment of the young season was seeing Hamlin get his first career INT Defense will still get Taron and Bernard back soon and Milano later 🤯 Mack Hollins > Gabe Davis in this offense...and its not close. You win in the trenches Allen is going to be the MVP $hakir is an absolute BEAST and caught an NFL record 27 straight targets $ee you in New Orleans in February 😎 GO BILLS!

I was so excited about this TD that I missed that hit live in the moment until I saw some people posting concerns in the game day thread about if he got hurt or not. Then when I saw the replay I was like yikes that was no joke of a hit. The dude is a tank, he just takes hits and bounces off people. This is the kind of toughness this offense has lacked overall for a while. Its why Beane talked so much about putting a team together that had more size that played more physical and are reliable pass catchers this year. -
Is this the best coaching we have seen in the JA era?
Alphadawg7 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes and honestly I think the evidence is there to suggest that the issue we have had the most problems with have been the coordinators. McD seems to have the right coordinators in place now and its made all the difference early so far. -
And when we do lose one game...look for the return of all the Fire McD/Beane threads, our WR's suck "I told you so's", etc etc people to come back out of hiding. Go look at the most active people in the now infamous WR's quitely got better crowd...lots of names mysteriously MIA since the start of week 1 who not only avoiding that thread, but avoiding posting on the board almost entirely for 3 weeks. As soon as we lose...the usual suspects with be full of word vomit for a week.

Agreed, its why I started a thread during the season last year that stated Shakir needs to get more of Davis's snaps back when that loser Dorsey was still the OC. Mack Hollins > Gabe Davis in this offense, and its not close.
