1/22/23 GAMEDAY THREAD Divisional Playoffs Bills vs. Bengals
wjag replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Atlanta or bust. -
All true. But all I know was that the game was not over until that last first down. It should have never been that close and yet it was. And everyone in WNY was holding their collective breaths. Every time you felt like Buffalo would add some point distance something happened in the game that allowed Miami to keep it close. And when you factor in a 3rd string QB and a massive point spread, it added to the anxiety and perception.

It's two-fold. The fumbles. Two times he has fumbled a scoop and six (Minny and Miami). But I think the fumble he had against Miami running to the sideline where it bounces off his knee leaves a "wreckless impression." And then of course there are those drive killing red zone picks. I agree no one is harping on TLAWs picks last week. But I think the combo of Josh's picks and fumbles and just surviving the Dolphins definitely leaves a bad and lasting impression. It wipes out the crazy good throws he had in that game. I mean that first one to Diggs was glorious... He has to play a clean game this week. Or the narrative will follow him.. I

I gave my vote to Pederson.. Pretty remarkable turn around there.

Josh is morphing as a QB…has stopped running recklessly
wjag replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think he has necessarliy stopped. My sense is when the play is essential, Josh will attempt to run. Miami baited him last week and he took the cheese. I don't see any of the remaining teams electing to do that. With every play essentially critical to advancing, I would expect Josh to be running more. -
He looked pitiful. And I'm here for it.

Bills-Dolphins most watched Wild Card game in 9 years
wjag replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep the NFL knows the Bills are must see TV. They simply play the wildest games of any team, week in, week out. That was why there was no 4th down measurement. 😈 No need to risk it.. -
Mike Gesicki is a free agent. Would the Bills take a flyer on him?

I'm a hard pass. Dipped that toe in the Miami TE market once before.. And we all know how that went. Why pay premium for a TE when college is full of them? -
I was having this discussion with my son today. He made the point that based on style of play, the Bills won't win it all. I countered with this: They have played pretty much the way we saw on Sunday ALL season. They are 14-3 playing that way. It's very Farve-ian. They had road wins in Baltimore and Kansas City and two late season wins against Miami. Their three loses were by a combined 8 points and they had a chance to win all three of those games had a bounce here or there gone differently. I do not expect a "clean" game from them. They press the ball down field and that leads to mistakes. But it has worked all season long and tigers don't change their stripes. So sit back and enjoy it. Would I be more comfortable with Von, sure, do they still have enough to take it to any team left, absolutely. And with Cincy in Buffalo and the winner of KC/Jax either neutral or in Buffalo, they have a great chance to go to the SB. The 8 game win streak is NOT a fluke. This is a good team that is willing their way to the bowl againtst all threats foreign, domestic, environmental and medical.
