  1.

the Bills are a much better team at home but December hasnt been kind to the Bills for the last decade plus so it could depend on how the season has gone up to that point

What are next weeks Lotto numbers while you are at it?

Alan Branch was signed to a 1-year deal originally. He performed well on the field, and Whaley gave him an extension. Why wouldnt the same thing be possible with Spikes?

I don't know any more than either of you, but Spikes has a better resume than Alan Branch and I think he signed a 1 year deal here basically as a tryout for other teams. Bills salary cap situation probably allowed them to offer the most money and starting potential. Right now he's on a 1 year contract, so it's better to have a plan in place if he's not here next year or doesn't perform.

  2. Can someone help me out here on WR numbers?

Back in the 60s, WRs wore low numbers. Lance Alworth was 19. Bob Hayes was 22. Then in the 70s it went to all 80s numbers for WRs. Then it seems a few years ago a lot (almost all) went to QB numbers (teens). Was there a rule change? If so, when?

Basically most recent rule change to let WRs wear teen numbers was started by Keyshawn Johnson.

  3. You could trade your Defensive pick with a team that has a strong O and weak D, and have to picks in the O round.

So, hypothetically, you have to give up assets just to be able to use your 2nd rd pick the way you want? And this idea is supposed to help teams get better?

  4. thats what I was thinking as well...without the tailgating and atmosphere that the Bills stadium offers now, why would U.S. fans want to travel across a border to watch a game?...I can't see the fans from Rochester, Syracuse and farther east going to as many games in Toronto....I just don't see the team thriving in Canada even when the Canadians would rather see them in Buffalo for the better atmosphere

Toronto doesn't need any fans from Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse. If the team moved to Toronto they'd have no trouble selling out. I also doubt the league cares about about letting fans tailgate. They'd actually probably love to end it. More beer to be sold at concessions.

  5. No city needs a NFL team. A subset of a cities population really wants and enjoys the team. Some cities have a higher percentage than others, but no cities economy depends upon the NFL and it's 8 home games a season.

I didn't say the city needed the team to survive or anything. However you want to judge the psychological or economical impact on the region by having the team it's still far greater than the benefits it provides the NFL.

  6. I'm quite certain that they won't care.

    42,540 season ticket holders for 2013 in a stadium that holds 73,967. " The Bills’ season ticket totals over the past 10 years: 2013 – 42,540; 2012 – 43,265; 2011 – 37,355; 2010 – 43,925; 2009 – 55,194; 2008 – 56,011; 2007 – 48,236; 2006 – 43,187; 2005 – 47,246; 2004 – 42,553." http://www.buffalone...rom-12-20130905

Should JBJ win the bid with his group, then they will more then likely start the process of building a new stadium in Toronto. The team will then move up north after the lease is up, or when the stadium is finished.

The new owners will probably change the name to to disassociate themselves from the last 20 years of losing culture when they move.

Toronto has a population of 2.79 million and is close to the population of Chicago at 2.80 million, which is the 4th largest city in North America. Toronto has nearly everything in sports already, Blue Jays (MLB) Maple Leafs (NHL) Raptors(NBA) plus pro soccer, and Lacrosse teams. Along with a plethora of minor league teams. All they lack is an NFL team, and the fan base would go nuts to buy tickets to their very own NFL team IMO.

Yup. The NFL would look at it as a huge upgrade and if nobody from WNY ever attended the games or bought a single piece of merchandise the team would still do extremely well in Toronto and Buffalo would be an afterthought. Buffalo needs the NFL more than the NFL needs Buffalo.

  7. I see some Big Ben in his play.

I think thats my ceiling for him.

I have faith in him bc he has the moxie and leadership abilities you want. Hes authentic. He never points the finger. Hes coachable.

I saw enough good to be optimistic. There was bad sure. But I wasnt dumb enough to think we drafted Peyton Manning. So far, Imo we picked the best QB in that class. And everyone knew he would need time and work.

    Not remotely worried about him.

Your comparison for Manuel is a QB who took his team to the playoffs in his rookie year and won his first of two Super Bowls in his second season. Was Brady aiming too high?
