1. This was Jerry's post on Twitter yesterday:

He probably figured that with all the good press Tim Graham was getting for his Talley story, Twitter was in need of some new douchebags.

What is wrong with that tweet? Manziel is young and I'm personally not all the enamored with him, but he's probably a better prospect than Manuel at this point. Right now the Bills and Browns have the same record and it's pretty likely neither team will make the playoffs, but the Browns went most of the season without their number one receiver, and have two first round picks next year to improve themselves.

  2. I haven't read the article, I never read him. But it was by no means a "great win" like I am seeing in places. There were so many mistakes and flags on both teams it is difficult to ascertain exactly what was going on. The Bills offense was abysmal as has become the norm. The Bills defense was OK in the first half, and seemed to wake up in the second and play their normal tough game.

The Browns defense was also OK in the first half, but their offense was abysmal ... and their defense decided to join the offense in the second half. Train wreck city.

As a Bills fan it was very easy to sit back and enjoy the second half of that game. And any win is a good win, particularly in a "must win" game like that was. But looking at it from any kind of a neutral perspective it is impossible to call it a "great game", in my opinion at least.

If the Bills play like that in 6 days from now, god help them. I mean, near the end of the game the Bills were 0 for 11 on 3rd down conversions I believe. Good god.

Agreed. If people would rather just enjoy the win without any context or opinion around it then the highlights on NFL.com seem like a better way to do that than an opinion piece meant to add context to the game.

  3. Were they trying to pass the USA COWBOYS Act, or the USA GIANTS (and that other team) Act? What was the name of that law they tried so hard to sell?

They could have called it anything they wanted and with the frame of mind everyone was in at the time it wouldn't have mattered. Also the Patriot Act was signed in October and the Patriots lost two days later, so.

  4. I've seen many comments about how Pegula's going to turn things around. I'm very grateful that he's keeping the Bills in Buffalo, even though they suck. It's terrific that the area has something that many other cities in the US don't - an NFL franchise. But really, what exactly has Pegula's ownership of the Saber's done for them? They're about as awful a team as you can get and have been like that since he's owned them. I'm not trying to be a smart _ss here, but what in his track record suggests things will be different for the Bills?

With the Sabres the team made the playoffs in his first year, so he gave the GM and coach the benefit of the doubt and a blank check and told them to try to win the cup. They made some bold moves that didn't work out, the team got worse and he cut ties. Hindsight being 20/20 he should have done it sooner -- especially the GM in my opinion, but the Sabres are rebuilding the right way now. There are no guarantees they'll win a cup with the current people in charge but I don't think they'll hang on to them as long if it's clear it's not working.

  5.

Not sure if you ever watch WWE, personally not my style, but millions did and do, why? They know

that is rigged to, same thing with dancing with the stars and Idol. You watch for the entertainment

value. Sadly that is all the NFL currently is, entertainment, and somewhat, or maybe even outright

scripted entertainment. Why that is so hard to believe, at least for some of us, really is beyond me.

I think that most people feel it, smell, and are very conscious if it, but just don't want to admit that

this goes on. You know the old adage if it smells like dog crap and tastes like dog crap, then trust

your senses, it is dog crap!

For the NFL to be "rigged" on the same level as the WWE the players would have to be in on it too.

  6. So to all the people who think the NFL is rigged, even just a little, why do you still watch the games? What's the point of picking a favorite team and cheering for them when you believe the the league is rigged against your team? What's the point in hoping that the league starts rigging games in your team's favor?

  7. ABSOLUTELY RIGHT op!! And the mob, bookies, and owners are in on it!! We were 5.5 underdogs. Get the !@#$ out of here with that bull ****. They have two major injuries and we still lose. We bust the dolphins ass in the first game and now we lose by more than 5.5? Complete bull ****!!

It's scripted! Here's two examples! How the !@#$ did the ravens win the year before? Oh cause Ray Lewis was retiring? Here's the REAL one. Katrina hits and the saints win the superbowl!! I don't know when our number will be called again, but it'll be set up for us to win!!

I'll bet the NFL made the Bills send Bryce Brown deep at the end of the game too. Is there no limit to their corruption!?!

  8. I would like to think not...but i wonder???? Hear me out for a minute, all the calls made by the refs are opinionated except for offsides and a clear pass interference in the open field. And think about how much money the NFL makes during the regular seasone not just for the big market teams but for all teams. Look how many teams they show on the TV that everyone sees in "the playoff picture" let's get real the Bills at 5-5 are out, but they will still show them up on the board to keep the die hard fans still involved thinking "we still have a shot" so they keep buying tickets and jersey's, plus the NFL still needs the fans to watch the ads during the games from which the NFL makes so much money from. It wouldn't surprise me if the Bears make the playoff's or start winning games to keep their fans involved because they play in such a big market. The NFL is like the WWE they kind of tell you who to like (i.e. the Patriots can do no wrong with Tom, where ever Payton is will be huge, the Seahawks with the 12th man (whom they stole from Texas A&M) are huge now just because of that) and the refs control the game kind of like the refs in the WWE. Think about when the Bills were superbowl contenders we had fans everywhere but people got tird of them so they moved on. Then I think about the Bills this year, yes their coaching isn't the greatest but think about some of the questionable calls the last two weeks:

    1. against the Chiefs 2nd and 10 Complete pass to Hogan short of the first down forced out of bounds and then a late hit with no call. The play right after that two Chiefs jumped in the neutral zone one touches a Bill and they call False start on our right tackle. Now those calls didn't effect the outcome of the game but both could have extended the Bills drive

    2. Tonight against the Dolphins, not only did it feel like the Dolphins were going to win from the way they were covered by the NFL network, the intentional grounding was a joke and I am glad Deion said so on the set after the game, but Gilmore made the best play of his career and he gets called for Pass Interference to set up first and goal for the Fins scoring a TD putting the game away.

I hope the NFL isn't rigged but sometimes I think it is putting the small market teams in the back.

Bad teams put themselves in bad situations that magnify questionable calls. The Bills are a bad team.

  9. Stop being a homer. If this was exact opposite and they called offsides on the Bills, you would be in an uproar about that flinch.

True story. That play did not cause the Bills to lose the game. Even if (IF) it was the wrong call it STILL would not have caused them to lose the game. Continuing to be garbage in the redzone, turning the ball over and being generally undisciplined caused them to lose the game. Marrone and Hackett got exactly what they deserved.

  10. Yea, I mentioned that already. The Bills did quite good at times on first down. It was that second down run up the middle for no yards, or negative yards that screwed them. The defense knew it was coming every time, and yet...

What was Albert's definition of insanity. to keep doing the same thing over, and over and expecting different results?

    Actually no!

  11. Sounds like we need to find a back and get an interior line who can actually run the game plan.

Wait, I'm sorry. We need to "get him in space." Yes, yes, that's it! Get him in space. That should be easy and it sounds kinda insider-ish. Get him in space. That's the solution that's right in front of the coaching staff's face. Everyone on a message board knows it. How come they don't? Get him in space.

If Spiller doesn't fit the gameplan then they should trade him and play Bryce Brown. Forcing a player into a style of play he's not suited for is a waste of everyone's time.
