  1. He did a great job as a change of pace back and I doubt he cost much but man, I am getting nervous with each FA pickup that isn't a S

Very good signing. As others have said, get a better and cheaper vet than Murray/Harris and draft someone late like Gore jr.

5th round seems to be good value of a change of pace back (preferably named Williams)

We have to be under the cap by today. I'm sure we were.

However, I don't think it's by much at all. After re-signing Daquan Jones, AJ Epenesa, Taylor Rapp, David Edwards, and Cam Lewis and signing Mitch Trubisky, Nicholas Morrow, Mack Hollins, and Matt Haack - in trying to keep track of the moves we made to get out from under 42+ over and factoring in those moves - I have us "right up on it", as Beane likes to say.

Yeah. At this point the only moves I can see that free up enough cap space to sign anyone are a Taron Extension (which will likely be for in season moves) and a Diggs restructure (which would have been quick and easy to do if the team wanted)

If there are teams in the top 5 of the second round that are desperate to move up into the first round, I would listen to their offers.

I'd say there is a non-zero chance Carolina gets desperate and stupid

I agree. We have no draft ammunition to trade up. Whoever falls the furthest to us is who we get and consider ourselves fortunate.

I will not be shocked if Beane trades back into the top or middle of the 2nd round if it gets us a high third but if not I think there is fortunately enough of both this year that I think it's possible to get a quality starting WR2 and S within the first 60 picks

I just don't like how it doesn't offer options.

Wonder more. You have to take someone out to put someone in.

Easy. At the moment take out a safety and play TJ as the 4th DB and William or Bernard as a tweener

Because right now Rapp is scraping the bottom of the barrel. The rest is eating splinters

    Bums me out.

He and Geno Stone were my favorite safety targets, and both are off the market.

The Cover 1 guys liked Alohi Gilman, but he's off the market, too.

I still expect the Bills to sign a safety, but the longer they go without doing so, the more I begin to suspect that a high draft pick may be used on one, and that Rapp may actually start at SS.

    Huh.

I'm not saying you're wrong but ugggggggggh.

I'm fine with Rapp as a fringe S starter but he's not a long term fix. So we cut Poyer for the guy Poyer started over and need to fill both FS AND WR2 in the draft if we stand pat. That does not give a huge window of options

  7. Really? Because the one position I thought the Bills might have an overabundance of depth at was LB. This one is a mystery to me

From WGR's Sneaky Joe's brother who follows the Eagles (sounds like a decent depth signing).

So he's hopefully less of a liability than AJ Klein

Great no one else wanted Epenesa or Lewis so we just had to keep them....

    Or DaQuan?

It means that the Bills didn't overpay for vets

My guess is we'll see Dane Jackson return as Outside CB4 and Ty Johnson return as RB3. Maybe there's a fun move like a vet RB2 or a mid tier Outside WR3 with the potential to Start in the event that our Round 1 WR doesn't have his sea legs under him at the next level immediately.

But I tend to agree he's probably laying low. Waiting for teams to spend their money and then fill some holes with the best of what's left, at decent prices.

I mean, I would love it if we got Dane back for one more year a la Levi Wallace.

I do think it's notable that after Day 1, the signings were bringing back expired vets, meaning that they probably had an offer from Beane, waited to see what they got and ultimately came back.
