Greg ward jr and Malcolm Jenkins?
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Bray Wyatt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey, I'd be happy to have him. He's a fantastic player, and a huge leader on the Eagles. He can play CB, as he had for the Eagles when they were desperate. I just can't, for the life of me, see why we would make that move when we desperately need WR help instead and Hyde and Poyer have been brilliant pickups. As an aside, I always hear about how safety isn't important as a CB, yet when teams invest in their safeties suddenly the DB corps as a whole looks better all around. -

Watkins admits he was selfish, upset after wins.
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He did in fact include that there were games where the team won, but his personal stats were bad and he was upset at that. Maybe he turns it around. Maybe things work out. But I can see why McDermott thought there was little chance to sign him long term and not worth the money that requires. For the record, I still wish that Tyrod had better passing options, but I don't hate that trade as much now. -
The annoying thing is, we know what Dareus can do when he is fully motivated and firing on all cylinders. Right now, he simply isn't. At this point, I don't know what else can get him there. There is no economic incentive for him to do so. His teammate and good friend Kyle Williams isn't getting it done. The coach isn't getting it done. I would be more critical to the "McBeane team", but even with a subpar effort from Darues, the team is leading the league in points allowed after playing some of the top scoring offenses. The playcalling and system are currently working. I would love to see Dareus get involved, and maybe he needs a different track than what McDermott can give. I faulted Rex for not getting Mario on board. If there is any way to get him back, I will be happy to keep paying the man. If not, according to Over The Cap, we save a bit of cap room is we trade him after this season. not much, But I will take almost anything at that point.

Look, I am absolutely stoked. This season has played out far better than I anticipated so far. The D looks so legit, Shady still has legs and I am finally seeing Dennison use Tyrod in the ways that I thought would free him. I will still admit, as I watched that last drive by the Falcons, the ghosts of two decades of fandom haunted me. I was sure that I was going to have to settle for a "moral victory" of only losing by one to the NFC champs. I am happy that we held. But believe me, those ghosts are not gone

Bills Sign WR Philly Brown and Two Safeties
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After last year failed to be "tight end heaven" I would really enjoy this. I agree that Zay and Holmnes don't scare anyone. That right now, even more than QB, is our #1 off-season priority. But if we get Clay as our deep threat and make teams play back and don't stack the box Shady gets room. -
OK...so saw the replay of the game
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To be fair, I am used to having "tuck rule" horribly abused, even if its not official anymore. See the pantsing that the Bills gave Johnny football, only to have that fumble/TD overturned. It should, absolutely, have been a touchdown. This one, well, strict letter would have borne us out. If that had been ruled incomplete on the first call, that is hard to overturn. I wouldn't have been shocked if it was called back. But eff it, I'll take it. -
Trade for a WR. Now. I know I am overreacting a bit, but seriously, this was a position of weakness before our best WR was injured. Powell is ok, but teams are going to keep trying to take Clay away and there has to be someone who can keep them honest. Zay is not there yet, and he is the best we have right now.

Stephon Gilmore is Trending
WhitewalkerInPhilly replied to Max Fischer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To be fair, I wanted Gilmore back. He is a *good* CB. It is more the pity that he wanted to be paid as an *elite* CB, with all those expectations. It's delicious. Zero chill -
To be fair, we should probably have this in PPP I think Shannon Sharpe had a point. Last week wasn't about a devotion to social justice. It was fading out until Trump attacked the "shield". That is why there was push back

If they do, and it's a big if, I think they seriously change expectations for this season. To be 3-1 and 2-0 in conference (still in decent shape if we lose) through a part of the schedule where most people had us 1-3, and then with a stretch where we could really rack up some wins, we could be serious contenders come November. FWIW, even if we lose today, we are in decent position, but a win means that this team is legit.

I hadn't seen this, but it would make a lot of sense, especially with Clay's TD coming on a rollout. I like this formula. If teams want to make it their mission to shut down Shady, and spy Tyrod, you absolutely rollout to buy time for our receivers to get separation.

It was shocking because for the first quarter, Arizona was a juggernaut. I think they put up close to 140 yards in the first half with 13.5+ minutes in TOP. Then, a holding call wiped out a touchdown and their kicker missed a chip shot. There was nothing Arians could do about that, but it's crazy how much pressure Dallas got with a three man rush. Even then, Larry Fitz played out of his mind. But then they would go to throwing two yards behind the line and getting stuffed while the deep ball was working.
