We've crossed this bridge. I'm a recipient of concussions through sports. If this is Trent's first, like he says, there is no way this is affecting him. The team doctors, Trent himself, anyone aside from hoping message boarders would lead us to something that hints that. I'm actually done arguing it, because you exaggerate the power of lingering effects. If two weeks after an incident, you can still perform like Trent did vs. San Diego the issue is dead. It doesn't act up months later if you're fine 14 days later. Really. He got a concussion, doctors said he was fine, he went on to win. He goes on a 4 game losing streak of fury, and looks so bad in lime-light that I too wished he was concussed, but unfortunately that's not the case. I'm done arguing this after the post though, and considering all concussion conspirators to be worse excuse makers than JP fanboys.

Awww. Why'd you have to ruin the fun and quote a no-talent a$$-clown?

Actually he beat San Diego. One of the better teams we've beaten. Then why are you agreeing with the guy I'm dissenting with? I think this board is unreal as well. Can you believe people think that Trent's real injury is being concealed? That's nonsense. He's hurt, which is something we have to get used to as he will most likely be our leader into mediocrity until 2011.

Sorry I attempted to insult the white knight. While I call people nutjobs for thinking Trent Edwards has a concussion injury, the real nutjobs are the people insulting JP Losman fans because they make excuses, when I have to endure the same old 2nd year excuse. Fine. It was his second year. And in that second year he played the worst string of four games I've ever seen. Wait? What's that you say? It was an injury? Good you've addressed the problem, he's injury prone, I'm glad you've decided on the problem. Now that we've diagnosed him, move on and get a new (unbroken) quarterback. Look, I'm calling PTR a nutjob because I've defended my stance against the concussion with him several times. I'll look in the mirror if you want me to buddy, but I need you people to get over Trent. Beginning with saying that you don't call him the answer is fine. But if you go that far, let's just come together, stop making excuses, and be gone with Captain dump off.

What a nutjob you are. I hate it because I too share your fandom for the UB Bulls, but you will NOT drop your little conspiracy. I wish by some miracle of complete impossibility that it WAS a lingering concussion. Then we can realize Trent is no more the answer than JP and move on. Whatever the injury is...he is a tim connolly. minus the talent.

With 120 Division I-A Football teams why is it that only
murra replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your suggestion is based on a grossly misinterpreted philosophy. We might not have a quarterback that will stand out to the media, win fantasy football leagues, or more importantly lead us to the playoffs without surrounding talent. Regardless of this fact, it is severely naive of you to actually sit through this Buffalo Bills football season and decide that the reason we are not making the playoffs is our lack of quarterback talent. We lost the Cleveland Browns game mostly to poor quarterbacking. Even still, we had a chance to win it. This is the first time that I've agreed with our city's ruthless attack on a coaching staff. The running game has been ineffective because of the coaches. Our defense plays well, but not well enough on 3rd downs, because of our coaches. I could go on a little, but the point of my response is that if you think changing the rules to benefit the Bills and perpetuate your theory will help the Bills by giving us an edge, then you might be overlooking some of our larger problems. I for one, think that the rules don't need to be changed (pertaining specifically to our inability to judge quarterback talent). I would prefer just getting better people to judge talent, and more importantly better people at executing that talent. -
How can you possibly argue that Trent is more entertaining?

I think you're right. And the more I think about this thread the more I regret my involvement in it. How pointless. Is someone going to start a Jerry Rice vs. Andre Reed thread now? I mean seriously, Steve Smith is a very good threat on a team that has never won a superbowl. Lee Evans is a very good threat on a team that has never been to the playoffs. It really is comparing apples to oranges, save their size.

Can you ever really please a 90 year old man ??
murra replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another fantastic thread to go along with the beautiful SKOOBY catalog. -
It really doesn't. I could run in two TDs against KC.
-
You had me sort of understanding what you were on about...but suggesting us getting Matt Cassel made me realize that if you believe that, then everything else you say must be entirely false.
-
What? How does that make SKOOBY right? He's wrong. Trent would have called the audible. Peyton Manning would have too. IT WAS THE PLAY. IF LEE EVANS IS ONE ON ONE, SWITCH TO PASS AND THROW TO LEE EVANS. JP DIDN'T WRITE UP THE PLAY OR MAKE THE CALL! It has nothing to do with his poor pre-snap recognition. He might suck royally at quarterback, that however is not a valid example of poor pre-snap recognition. I tend to think he's quite good pre-snap (aside from some timeouts and confusion). He used to be good at drawing defenders offside and seems confident pre-snap with a lot of reps before the game. He might be wild, tentative, and generally a bad quarterback, but that pre-snap read was 100% designed and had nothing to do with JP!

It's so nice we're getting some bad media attention. Wait...that's from BuffaloFootballReport.com Nevermind. You're the third person to check that article out, and I'm the fourth.
-
He made the audible he is told to make: When Lee has favorable one-on-one you switch that to a pass play. It's the play, not JP. Argue about the throw, but please, don't pretend like it's JP's fault we're throwing on first down.

Enough with the "deferring" criticism
murra replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In a game of momentum, if your offense scores on the first drive it will often fire up our defense, yes. -
Lol... Me: 2007 BUF WR 15 15775 15758 05830.095 350830 6306836 207407 &508 2408420

Enough with the "deferring" criticism
murra replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What you said was nice...Except that it has backfired every damn time. Our defense is horrible on the first possession (due to our under prepared coaching staff) and we play from behind every time we defer. I like the two consecutive logic, but deferring isn't working. It's that simple. Nice logic, not working. I don't know how you can even debate the issue. It isn't working. Haha, there isn't anything else to it. -
Evans can do everything that you see with Smith. If we had a QB who called the shots, or a an OC that trusted JP with the freedom with audibles, you'd see similar stuff. I'm sure people will flame me, and thats fine, I'm going off a hunch and you have stats to prove me wrong. I will continue to make excuses for Lee Evans because it's simply not fair to compare him to Smith. We don't effectively run an offense. We don't use the run to setup the pass. We ignore all that crap and try to out smart ourselves, and the results year in and year out is Lee Evans with slightly above average stats.
-
Not only do I agree...but the Bills have been playing from behind in like 11 of their 13 games in the first quarter...It's pretty evident that deferring is f*cking retarded and backfiring incredibly.

The worst part for me is the story that won't be told
murra replied to l< j's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks like you told it anyways... It's a trophy...a fairly stationary object not needing personification. All kidding aside, I liked your post, but it did little to make me a greater Bills fan. There are about a million Buffalo area stories that will never be told. The Kick that should have sailed in. The comeback team that went on to win the superbowl. The hero Ronnie Harmon. The great Buffalo Bills victory in a wildcard against the Titans, marching on to beat the Rams with future hall-of-famer Rob Johnson at the helm. The great sprawling Hasek save on Brett Hull in the crease, moments before Holzinger took the game to Dallas for a 7th game. The list goes on, and no other teams have more woulda coulda shoulda stories. I don't get what you're saying, other than "hey, notch up another choke by a Buffalo Sports franchise." Hardly anything worth mentioning... (good post btw) -
In a similar note, I still love Marv Levy like a father.

Fantastic point about LaFontaine. I don't think he spent even 8 years in Buffalo.

I'm starting to think that if Mort says that Jauron got that extension it's only him trying to save his own a$$ since he was the one who leaked that on ESPN in the first place.
