Who said that Favre is quarterbacking the New York Jets for the 2009 campaign? Are you not ready to ride the Favre question mark carousel this offseason with me?

That is hands down my favorite message that I've read thus far on these boards, congrats. You made me fall out of my seat.

At the very least, Jauron will be enshrined forever

I'm becoming a fan of the one Jerry Sullivan pointed out... Opening a press conference after the last game of a losing season with: "Obviously, a really interesting day weather-wise." -

Why did people actually think he was some stand out intellect because of his university? He went there to play football. He probably took shop class with a special tutor to get his straight A's. That's what they do to most athletes at big schools. -
MMM. The inevitable off topic response when I begin to get bored from making points. I'm not trying to be angry, I just tend to write with a passion when I'm legitimately passionate about what I'm saying. I truly believe that Man Genius is no better than Jauron. Fortunately for me, this entire argument is moot as there is almost a zero percent chance we interview Man Genius. I don't have any facts to base that off of, just the logic that Wilson will be looking to pick up either someone who has been out of the leauge or a coordinator. That is if Jauron is gone. There is an interesting point. After 3 seasons, the Jets correctly removed Man Genius from his throne, but the Bills fans are left scratching their heads as our coup is possibly never coming? That is a point I will give you. Man Genius blew less chunks than Jauron, but got fired immediately. If you were to make the point that Wilson is a less capable owner than whoever is running the NYJ, I will give you that.

Does anyone want to make an actual wager

I want to agree with you, but I really do despise SKOOBY. -
Who should the Bills' head coach be in 2009?

Good Point. -
As I was preparing my retort I re-read that last line and it made me chuckle aloud and prevented me from continuing on. You prefer Man Genius to Schottenheimer. I can't debate with someone who is legally insane.

Putting Bobby April as one of four choices will severely misrepresent the actual fanbase. The name pops out at you, and everyone and their mother loves that guy. -
My friend I think YOU are holding stats too closely. Last season the Bills had an opportunity to really make a playoff run, but were plagued with injuries and unfortunate early season losses. Not too long ago, the Bills were 5-1, a favorite for the Division. Dude, you can spin it anyway you like, but Man Genius and Jauron are equally incapable of producing a team with serious contention.
-
No it's not. I can pick you three games under Dick Jauron that, more than any other, have led me to hop on the fire dick band wagon. What's ridiculous is your continuing support for Man Genius while refusing to make valid arguments (For the record, age doesn't count. You want a more experienced coach. This isn't a quarterback we're talking about here).

Oakland asks permission to speak with Giant's Coordinator
murra replied to TheMadCap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is he batshit crazy, or is Kevin Gilbride the only coach who will work for him? I realize that those two things are not mutually exclusive, but it's fun to try and justify Al Davis' moves when in reality I'm just happy that at least we don't have that franchise. -
Ok. You've just displayed to me that you will continue to drink that kool aid and only look at the upside of whoever we eventually bring in. I agree, we will probably not get an upper tier coach. But the talent question aside (I think it's not very accurate as the Jets have a better defensive line than the Bills), Man Genius won 2 more games than Jauron. And if we win one of the close Jets game we lost this year it would be a wash. I'm sorry. He is Jauron's younger brother. You don't want that guy.

Great pic of the goalposts before the game...

Dockery is the most obviously overpaid player on the team. Watching him miss that block that allowed some no-name to tear Edwards' head off was enough for me. I still think it's funny that Wilson is grabbing his checkbook for guys like Schobel and Kellsay when they've never won you games. It's sad. I will disagree with Evans though. You have to pay him whatever he asks. That guy is solid, elite material. We don't get to see it because he's incorrectly utilized and only gets the ball 2-4 times a game, but with a real coach and a productive WR opposite him, he'll put up franchise record statistics.
-
What? Are you that happy with mediocrity. We're talking about a guy who was able to capitalize on mid-season wins due to the luck of the Favreish and rigged NY calls. We're talking about a guy who, against the Bills, declined a penalty that would force us to a fourth down and kick a field goal, inevitably we threw an interception, and made him look like a genius, but you don't decline that penalty. We're talking about a guy who was hired almost exclusively on the off chance that Billicheat rubbed off all his goody strategies into this fat lump of sh--. We're talking about a guy who, like Jauron had a meltdown of epic proportions in the final 5 games of the season. We're talking about a guy who in three seasons has 23 wins. (Jauron had 21) You want Mangenius? Are you that dense? You're trying to tell me that you're not satisfied with Jauron, but you'll entertain the idea of tossing in some chump who's hardly any better into the Buffalo parade?
-
I get what you are trying to say. But Schobel is NOT what I'm talking about. I'm talking about a presence. I see what you're trying to do here, pointing out a select few DEs who are good starters that weren't first rounders, but in all honesty nearly all of the most dominant forces in league history at the defensive end position have been freak occurrences selected in the top ten. You can be satisfied with your Schobel who squeeks in meaningless sacks at the end of games, but I want something much more.
-
Eh... I'm more partial to Roosevelt from UB. Better stats too. Anyone can look good against that awful West Virginia Defense.

OK, I'll throw it out there....Plaxico Burress?
murra replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even if he isn't. I do recall him shooting himself in the leg. A fairly useful limb in the world of wide-receivers . I disagree with the original poster in even making this thread. It just adds to the mixture of insane babble that Bills fans go through in order to cope with yet another losing season. -
I'm sorry but what about this team in the last 9 years has led you to believe that DE is not the most important need of the draft? Was it our proven history in picking up DE's in Free Agency? How about our fantastic track record of offseason trades? Where else are we going to pick up a Defensive End? We haven't had one that has been dominant in years. If the position keeps getting ignored, more teams will abuse our sad excuse of a defensive line. I don't care that these fluff players who couldn't make other NFL teams can bat down balls. At all. I want a pass rusher. I want pressure. Sure Erik Flowers didn't deliver, but...end the hunt there? Come on folks. What is leading you to believe the Defensive End is not our biggest need this offseason?

Jauron's extention may have an 8-8 clause
murra replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All this discussion does is make me sick that our owner continues to keep his fans in the dark like this. As fans we don't have the right to know whats going on, but to blatantly ignore commenting on Jauron's contract status when there have been numerous reports is really an unprofessional move. I think the 8-8 clause is probably a playoffs clause. That's our last hope. I really don't see how you can give a guy an extension with a 4-0 record with those four teams, with the track record Jauron has, and NOT have a clause. That being said, Ralph may be keeping things quiet to diminish the impending fan outcry, or at least delay it till after the season to maintain order with the franchise. -
unusual inaccuracy? did you miss that 4 game skid?
-
Throw out San Fran? He didn't produce any points in a whole half against that team!
-
I read that, and decided not to bite. Most of it (especially the bit about it being okay to lose to teams who are playing you for a second time) is highly debatable.
-
Oh my, you're buying into it. Dude, it's obvious. Ralph is clearly setting up the scene for the long awaited contract extension speech, where he reveals that he can't get rid of Jauron because the players love him (and not that he doesn't want a thinner wallet). If Trent said "you're doing a great job coach," he would be lying. Jauron is losing. Why would the PR team at OBD want to report something stupid like that. They're building up his likable stature to help sway fans from the harsh 1-7 reality.
