Why are so many people turning a blind eye to Trent?
murra replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really. Fitz did not have Jenkins on him, which was another plus for him, but in all honesty it took maybe 3 or 4 plays to realize that Fitz can't make many throws, but he looked like a real quarterback. he tossed it to Lee and T.O., he bought time, and he did something Trent hasn't done...convert a third down. -
In other words...Trent Edwards sucks? I don't think T.O. was the factor in Lee Evans catching the ball. I think having a quarterback actually take the time to wait for WR routes to develop was. Also, T.O. not catching no longer effects me. I'm still waiting for the first team to put their top corner on Lee and essentially shut down the Bills' offense.

I actually knew this would happen. People would be confused by stats. Statically, Trent might look nice, but reality says that Fitz didn't practice with the top team all season and at least made our offense look formidable. Trent never converted a 3rd down, and hadn't led his team to a touchdown in like 12 quarters or something. Fitz is not the answer, obviously, but he (being an average qb) surely put Trent in his place...the bench. -
Yet again, Simon is proven wrong. Sorry bud, the line wasn't the problem, it was the QB.

I realize that we were able to see Fitz vs. a Jenkins-less defense... BUT, after you get past that one legitimate excuse, you can't deny that Fitz made "heavy" pressure seem average. The big difference between Trent and Fitz wasn't awareness. Trent knows when the blitz is coming just as well if not better. The difference is what happens next. Fitz just had faith in the extra second or two, bought himself time and continued to check the field. Trent would call it a done play a little bit too early, causing our plays to disrupt. The offensive line is forced to look bad when the QB quits on the play early every single pass attempt. It's still too early, since Fitz wasn't planned for, etc., but I'm very excited to see next weeks game now. If Fitz is able to fend off the blitz, then I think its safe to say that the story of our season (assuming we end up missing the playoffs of course) is Trent's inability to play with pressure. If I'm right about this, and Fitz makes our O-line appear better... we need to seriously consider an offseason QB acquisition. If Fitz can make the Offense look average, I'd be willing to bet a 1st round QB/veteran FA pick-up could really do the trick.

What a weird excuse. It's out of Bryd's control which QB he faces. You're arguments are pretty weak there. He's a ballhawk. End of story. That was his description coming out of college, and 2 starts 3 ints pretty much means that he's the best safety we've had in a loooong time.

Gaines Adams traded from Tampa to Chicago

The sub header should read: Bills hopeful Maybin will have a strong second half of his rookie season. -
6th in state? What's that rank them like 800th in the nation or something?

You actually think Dan Fouts is better than Tom Brady and Peyton Manning? That's unbelievable.

And you should, because I'm being so irrationally serious. -
Youth raise money for message "Fire Jauron"
murra replied to BillsZubaz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well said. That should almost end the argument. The only argument I'll warrant for the opposing side is that you might feel it misrepresents the area, but people...you have a right to voice your opinion, and that kid spoke on behalf of all disgruntled fans, all you sappy fans are welcome to raise 1,200 dollars and put a sign behind it saying: We're sorry Ralph and dick. All of Buffalo doesn't hate you. You're probably not going to do that because you don't feel passionately enough about it, whereas that kid did. It's his right to put up the billboard, and its his and the people who have donated right on how to spend their money. -
Louisiana Justice Of The Peace Refuses Marriage Liscense
murra replied to Steely Dan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Wow. I can't believe I just read that. I think you should pick up an ethics book or two and read both sides and read up on what both left and right agree on...that way you wont look like as much of an idiot. Clearly there is a thing called natural bias. As much as you would love to ignore this, the fact remains that most everyone enjoys the company of people with similar backgrounds and similar situations. I think that someone else already did a fantastic job dissenting you and explaining this, but you really need to realize how blatantly wrong your statement is. I can't believe we're calling people jerkoffs because they naturally aren't best friends with everyone of the opposite race. -

1 a : free from imperfection b : perfect c : outright, unmitigated The absolute best the Bills can finish is 12-4. Yes Dante. Just yes. I think we'll go 7-9 because...history repeats itself. -

That's actually false. The absolute best the Bills could do is 12-4. -

I don't know...there are some exciting patterns out there. -
CALLING IT NOW: ANOTHER AVERAGE BILLS SEASON (EVER, WOW)

I agree. 6 straight wins followed by 5 straight losses seems improbable. I was thinking a W, L, W, L pattern straight through. -
Bills staying in Buffalo - The Economics 101
murra replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many large markets are there? They wouldn't move the team off the principle that the Bills are netting 3million a game, where a select few cities like Dallas or Boston can take away a little more than 5 times that. Secondly, you failed to mention that our Toronto deal places us right in the middle of the pack again. If we go it will have absolutely NOTHING to do with ticket sales/prices. There aren't exactly 30 Dallas Cowboys. -
Perry Fewell - Head Coach of the Bills???
murra replied to tjprime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's not how the process works though. That would be reverse racism then. He needs to go back into the interview process so all minorities are properly evaluated. If you hire an interim coach, black or white, they still need to be placed back into a "properly" vetted system. -
You're absolutely right. Anyone who thinks the Bills are a 3 win team are kidding themselves. Clearly we're going to win 6 or 7 games so we miss out on a good draft pick.

Perry Fewell - Head Coach of the Bills???
murra replied to tjprime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wouldn't matter how many years Fewell has on his contract. When the season ends, he would have to be interviewed along with other coaches for the job. Also, why would you want the guy who is an advocate for soft, weak players, and soft/weak formations to be our head coach? Wouldn't you think the team would just continue its downward spiral? Honestly, as much as our defense has kept us in some games, almost always the opposing offensive coordinator figures out our pathetic zone coverage by the fourth quarter and exploits them. Fewell is a joke. -
Yep. No chance of that.

Bills Receiver Topic on Sportscenter this morning

That's not fair. And your wrong. At this point Quinn has proven absolutely nothing, and while Anderson has looked Abysmal...he has played in a Pro-Bowl. -
Good toss over the middle to a TE. Haven't seen that in a while. Back to back lasers by JP...
