  1. Who cares? I think last weeks game was the first that one of the announcers didn't call him Fitzgerald. The world is coming to an end now. Trust me it won't affect the outcome of the game one bit.
  2. Ralph is cheap...seriously No? You don't say!
  3. I love your optimism, but anyone watching this team knows it is no 13-3 team, by any stretch of the imagination. I am looking at best 10-6, but probably 9-7 which would still be quite an improvement. I think the Bills will struggle at NYG, at Dallas, at NYJ, at SD and at NE. I also would not be surprised if they win one of the games that they probably shouldn't but I also would expect them to lose at least one game that they should win, like they did the Bengal game.
  4. I would add the Steelers and Ravens too, they both are beatable on occasion but also can have near perfect games.
  5. Overall, you have to be happy with where this team is compared to where most people thought it would be, but you are right, it has been a tale of two halves all season. Not just the defense, but the offense too, has only played one complete game against a bad Kansas City team. As long as the team improves weekly, that is fine, but most of the games have featured a team that looked like two different teams from one half to the other.
  6. You can stop reading all you want but in 2010 the Bills opponents averaged 4.8 yards per carry. So far in 2011 the Bills opponents are averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Does that sound like a major improvement to you? I know stats don't tell everything and I think the run defense has improved some (which has exposed our weak pass defense) but be real, our defense hasn't been great with the only exception being turnovers that have kept us in games that otherwise our defense would have lost for us. Anyone who says that our defense has been playing at a playoff level isn't being very honest with themselves and is letting their heart overthink their head.
  7. At this point, after only 5 games, Green has been the better rookie, and may in the long run too. That said, our run defense was so disgustingly bad last year (it isn't a whole lot better this year so far), that Dareus was the right pick for this team. Not saying Dareus doesn't have a chance to develop into a really good if not great player, but if he stays healthy, Green will be a top 2-3 wide receiver in this league in a year or two. Green is performing at a level for that position that usually takes a couple years for recievers, as it is one of the hardest positions for college players to adjust to, but Dareus has by no means been a bust, just has a way to go. Besides if the Bills would have drafted Green, then Nix probably would have traded Stevie Johnson away during training camp, since you don't want to have too many good receivers.
  8. Like I tell my kids and anyone else who moans and complains about something on TV, in the newspapers, online, etc.-IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T WATCH IT, DON'T READ IT, DON'T LOOK AT IT. That is unless someone is standing next to you with a handgun up to the side of your head, and if that is the case I sincerely hope you make it out of there alive.
  9. Odd you didn't list Merriman's stats along with Poz's and Barnetts? Merriman has sucked, I would take Poz any day over him. Barnett has been a beast, but Merriman should be on his way out. Merriman got a sack against the Bengals because he was the closest when the rookie QB ran out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. Only time the announcers said his name yesterday was the beginning of the game when he jumped offsides. Sense you didn't want to do it, I will, here is Merriman's stats after 5 games - 7 Tackles, 2 sacks (see my earlier statement), 0 passes defended. Those numbers make Poz look like Patrick Willis or Brian Urlacher. I am as happy as anyone with how the Bills season is going, but the defense, especially yesterday has been nothing to brag about. 4 straight games giving up over 450 yards, we could without a doubt still use Poz and send Merriman up the river, but that wouldn't happen because Buddy Nix is in love with him. In my opinion there are 2 or 3 backup linebackers on this roster that we would be better off playing instead of Merriman, the "Invisible Millionaire."
  10. I know he has a ton of haters on this board, but Kelsay has probably been the defenses best player so far after 4 games.
  11. With the Jets playing like they are, "Heavy" favorite might be an understatement.
  12. I hope you wishes come true in a big way, but I am starting to doubt if we will ever see a big game from Merriman.
  13. I take it that you don't have a TV? He has played for a couple weeks now. You sure it is Gailey, I always assumed that it was Buddy Nix who wanted to have Merriman's baby.
  14. Maybe now that the team has won a couple games, Bill Cowher has agreed to be the coach!
  15. Alot of people that aren't ex players aren't good front office people either, as we well know. Elway has only been in that position for a year, what do you expect? He took over for a regime that trashed that organization. Not saying he is going to be great, but it is way too early. Ozzie Newsome has done alright for himself in Cleveland/Baltimore.
  16. I tell my kids that if they really hate something to stay away from it?
  17. I don't think he meant we were lucky that the official called it, but lucky that the defender was so frickin stupid to commit such a blatant penalty when there is no way on earth, in any scenario it could have helped the Pats. I guess in a way we were lucky that the official saw it though, since every eye in the stadium and watching the TV was on the ball and the players around it, not the back of the endzone.
  18. Every since the Janet Jackson nipplegate incident, the new requirement is that the perfomer has to be at least 50 years old and Madonna is. The only exception was last year with the Black Eyed Peas and they might as well have been 50 years old, they sucked. Probably the worst Super Bowl halftime show in memory. Having BB King sit on a chair strumming his guitar testing his sugar levels would have been more exciting last year then the Peas. That obviously isn't a requirement to have knowledge of football, I mean Michael Jackson and Britney Spears performed years ago. At least she is American, the countries biggest event of the year and over the past few years they have had The Who, U2, The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney, none of which are Americans. Madonna is one of the biggest music legends in this country, but she fits the "Safe" thing now, which is what they go for so they don't get sued by the FCC again.
  19. They need to use him for something, after what they paid him. Until last week they didn't use him for anything but on 3rd and short. But for physical abilities, he doesn't compare to Vick for pure athletic ability, but that doesn't mean he can't be used effectively though, they just have to figure out how.
  20. It sucks for sure, but it isn't going to change so it has to be put in the past. Are you over the "No Goal" yet? or the "Phantom Goal" in Philly? The "Music City Ripoff"? Welcome to the life of being a Buffalo area sports fan.
  21. Do you ever go over the speed limit? Taste a grape from the produce section? Check out a young lady who might be too young to be checked out? Are you one of the ones who look for an "illegal" feed for the Bills game when it is blacked out locally? You ever littered? Did you ever drink alcohol before you were of legal age? I could go on and on, and I bet you have done at least a couple of these things unless you are the world's first "perfect" person. These are all illegal, unethical and in no way necessities.
  22. I don't have any tickets, but I would like to update you on which year it is though, this is 2011. Seriously, congrats, my wife and I just celebrated 25 years. Not sure which was tougher the last 10 years of marriage or the last 10 years of being a die hard Bills fan.
  23. I agree it may be a blessing since the Eagles lead the entire NFL in sacks, so any little bit helps. Cross our fingers, Hairston might be the next Lou Gehrig. On the other side, with our non existent pass rush, I am worried about Michael Vick getting outside, just one more thing to worry about.
