Tracy Porter? He just got injured. I don't think LaDaris would like it if he knew his cornerback was in a Hockey Mom voting contest.

Just "won" an authentic throwback Whitner jersey
TheLynchTrain replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotta love the nfljersey.us slogan: "We are professional NFL supplier." Sounds exactly like the broken English I hear every time I order Sesame Chicken... I'd be willing to bet that the ebay guy gets his stuff wholesale from China, either counterfeit or mysteriously "fallen off the back of a truck." I think the "wrestlewithpandas" handle might give it away... -
Two words on JP: HAPPY FEET. No need to say any more.

I wasn't sold on Bush when he came out. To me, guys that weight under 200 pounds won't cut it in the NFL. I'm sure not everybody would believe that I wouldn't like Reggie Bush with all the hype coming out of college (no I'm not giving a LaDaris I told you so comment, don't worry). I'm a guy that has always hated a Westbrook player - I still hate the guy! I just don't think a player like this is an everydown back, and you always need to compensate by having a smash mouth running back to go with him. But he did impress me his rookie year. The guy can catch the ball - he had 88 catches, as a RB and as a ROOKIE! He already has 38 this year. That is crazy, and he is an X factor. He did grow on me. I would love to have a guy like him on my team. But I wouldn't want to waste a number 2 overall pick on him. Nor would I want to give him 10 million a year (6 years 62 million). That's just absurd, especially since you would need to pay another 2-3 million or high draft pick to find a guy to compliment him. For everyone that complained about paying Lee 9 mil a year (which I think was totally worth it), paying Reggie Bush that much more is too much. Overall, the cost is just too much for a guy like that. Still love to have him on the team though, haha.

So first you called Lynch overrated and now youre saying that Whitner is a "decent" safety. Donte is one of the best and most respected safeties in the league and he's the leader of that defense. All 24 years of his age - after playing 37 games. You talent evaluations are a little strange buddy..

Hamdan / Edwards article on front page
TheLynchTrain replied to Cugalabanza's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Obviously it was strange to see JP not included in ANY way in the article. It was even funnier (if that's the right word) when Hamdan said "I like to see guys successful, I know not everybody thinks that way." But the thing is, we shouldn't hate on JP. Sulking? How so? He's not going in front of the media bitching, moaning, complaining how he is mistreated. He's taking this like a man. And, if by the terrible chance that Trent does get injured, can you imagine the MASSIVE chip on JP's shoulder when he comes in the game? The dude wants a contract somewhere next year, and by channeling all the rage at the Bills he might have a great game if his number is called on. It was a little scary starting the year with him as a backup, because I'm sure almost all of us were scared of the scenario where Trent doesn't play well or gets injured, JP comes in and plays OK to good, and then bounces at the end of the year with the Bills still not having a QB. But Trent's first 4 games have definitely solidified his role as a starter and leader on this team, and I don't think there's anything he could do in the next 12 games to change that (knock on wood). TBD needs to stop harassing JP/putting speculation out there that he is sulking. The kid has kept his mouth shut, been a team player, and you really can't ask anything more out of a guy that lost his job. My two cents... -
My favorite part of this conference was this: "But what’s his name knew he could run, he’s a friend of Belichick’s. Mike Lombardi." Anybody that says Al Davis is not senile is senile himself. He can't even remember his own people. Sounds a lot like Ronald Reagan. That conference was hilarious, the rambling, the pauses, the blank stares, the creepy gray turtleneck that was too big on him....I felt like I was (sadly) listening to a great grandparent.

Whats interesting about this case, and what hasn't been said here or on sports media anywhere, is what this is in relation to Jamal Lewis. Henry backed up Jamal at Tennessee, and during his Junior year, split time with the older guy. Everyone remembers Jamal's infamous cell phone call that sent him to prison over an alleged coke deal before the start of his rookie season. You guys think that Travis and Jamal might have had a side business at Tenn?

Check out the smack talk going down

My favorite is the 4th post. Her name is "SoCAL Heart-THROB." Sounds like a very knowledgeable fan (sarcasm off). Hey, at least she gave (somewhat) props to the bills! -

Someone should probably tell Mr. Gutman
TheLynchTrain replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah but everyone knows (at least Bills fans, and those on this board) that the salary cap is unequal. Everyone knows that it will only get worse for small market teams (85 mil to 122 mil in 5 years). His whole part about teams not being able to keep their players b/c of the cap is crap - the free agent pool has sucked the past few years because big market teams re-upped their free agents. The few good free agents on the market were those that played for small market teams who wouldn't get in a bidding war. For a kid attending Yale, he's not too bright. -
Baltimore may have a great defense, and Flacco looks good, but he can't keep it up for a whole season. You also can't discount what 15 straight games without a bye will do to a team.

Willis McGahee is a Beytch
TheLynchTrain replied to TheLynchTrain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll keep that in mind next time huh -
Did anyone see the McGahee screen in the first half? He caught the ball 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage, had 3 defenders in front of him, and decided to step out of bounds one yard before the line of scrimmage instead of fight for something. That was terrible. With the way our OLINE has been playing, Marshawn sees these type of plays develop on every series, and ends up with positive yards 8 out of 10 times. So happy about this switch!

You didnt respond to anything I said. How about Bobby Carpenter? Are you actually saying that Michael Huff was still a better pick than Donte Whitner? And you're ADMITTING that Lee Evans was a good pick? Now, if these other 5 teams picked crappy CBs, why don't you go and tell those fans all about it? You've said enough on this board.
-
Hello? Marshawn looks like the PREDATOR. get it right. Arnold would be shaking in his boots.

Jags Richard Collier Paralyzed
TheLynchTrain replied to KnightRider's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not if there was more than one shooter. It is terrible; wrong place at the wrong time. -
One thing I've noticed in Trent's press conferences after the past two games: He keeps saying that defenses are doing things that he hadn't seen before on tape, and wasn't expecting. Obviously, with only 2 or 3 games of tape on teams, there will be plenty of things that teams throw out which they haven't done in the past. I don't expect that to change, especially with D coordinators finally getting tape on Edwards to figure out ways to stop him and the Bills offense. Edwards, the O and the coaching staff have done a great job so far at figuring out what opposing Ds are throwing at them and how they can fix it. I'm guessing Arizona is going to be no different

Now I know there are a lot of Jason Peters haters out there, and for good reason. The dude has given up 4 sacks already (by my count), two more than his overall total from last year. But we all know how well he can play, and how well he did play last year. He's been practicing now for almost a month, and he should (no, HE BETTER) get his act together by the Cards game. ' I'm sure Mr. Parker is calling Jason everyday, asking "WTF are you doing?" Our line overall has been poor, but a lot of it has to do with Peters. Our supposed "road grader" in Dockery is just getting used to playing with his old linemate again. Walker wasn't able to play his natural position through training camp, and while he is in game shape, he is still remembering how to play his RT position (this might be a stretch). But these guys will jell again, and we'll see how it fares. And on Schobel, correct me if I'm wrong, but I noticed yesterday it was him and not Stroud that was getting a lot of double teams from the Rams. He's obviously not living up to the 7 mil a year contract he's making, but he'll come around. As much as we wanted to see our team dominate all four quarters of the past three games, this wins are definitely great lessons for this team, and only make our guys buy into Jauron's system that much more. Moreover, 3 straight 4th quarter comebacks only help the players on the sideline, when this happens again. They've been in the position before, and they have the chance to say "Remember what we did in Sept." We cannot discount the fact that they are a young team, and wins like this will only help them down the road.
-
Yeah just like you were right about Bobby Carpenter? Just like you were right about Michael Huff? Thought so. So if you are harassing bills fans, are you doing the same to the five other teams that drafted corners before Tracy Porter? AZ-Cromartie TB-Talib Dallas-Michael Jenkins SD-Antoine Cason KC-Brandon Flowers They were all soooooooooo stupid to draft these guys ahead of Porter. Looks like you can spend some time on those draft boards and harass those fan bases. I'm sure they'll love it. And you didn't seem to respond anymore once Lori gave you the proverbial smackdown. Nice job!

Speculation: Jacobs to sell Bruins, buy Bills?
TheLynchTrain replied to SonOfWade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you read my entire post I said "I'm sure we'll hear the same moaning and groaning" about not being able to be competitive - a la Ralph, Galisano, and John Regis. Any guy that buys this team will say the same thing, Jacobs or not. But Jacobs in Boston makes all three look like Jerry Jones. That being said, ANYWAY, ANYHOW, we need to keep this team in Buffalo, even if it means another tight fisted owner. -

Forbes values of teams - Boston 7th in Revenue and Value http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/attendance?year=2008 NHL Attendance by teams - Boston 26 out of 30 with 15,000 average http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/attendance?year=2008 Just goes to show what corporate money does -
Speculation: Jacobs to sell Bruins, buy Bills?
TheLynchTrain replied to SonOfWade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea but not in Boston. It is the 6th largest market, and they consistently are in the bottom of the league in attendance (I think I saw the numbers like 12-13,000). Even with poor attendance and fan apathy, Jacob's Bruins are in the top ten revenue every year. Jacobs doesnt even have to try in Boston (which he obviously doesn't), and he still makes money. Can't necessarily say the same in Buffalo. Damn these big market teams! -
Speculation: Jacobs to sell Bruins, buy Bills?
TheLynchTrain replied to SonOfWade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can see where Ray Finkle is coming from. The Bruins used to be THE team in Boston all those years back with Bobby Or. Red Sox were terrible, nobody cared about the Pats* until they won a Superbowl (always #4 team there), and they hated the Celtics cuz they had, uh oh, Black Players! Racist bastards... Nobody cares about the Bruins anymore in Boston because Jacobs has never much cared about the team. Obviously, there are other factors: 1.) Boston is the worst bandwagon city in all of sports, and 2.) all three other major teams winning championships in the past 5 years has drowned any publicity the Bruins may get. Now Jacobs has made some strides in recent years, but it is probably too late for the people of Boston to ever forget his 35 years of terrible management. He is consistently voted one of the worst owners in all of sports (I guess there is one way Buffalo's been consistently saying FU to Boston!) Him getting a fresh start may be best for both Bruins fans and himself. Like any owner, I'm sure he's learned from past mistakes, but at the same time views himself as a "savior" of his team, and that fans should just be happy they have somebody like him to run a team. Call it a owner/rich person ego trip. If he did buy the Bills, it would be bittersweet. We would know that the team's future in Buffalo would be on solid ground, but we'd also know that we would never be active in free agency/retaining players ever again. But, IF he did buy the team, we have no idea that he'd be a cheapskate or not. Hey, you never know? But, one thing to add is that any owner who buys the bills will be saddled with a ridiculously high debt, and I'm almost positive we'll hear the same moaning and groaning about how high the cost of running a team in this city will be. That being said, anyway, anyhow we can keep this team in this city is probably a good thing.
