In reality, they offered essentially the same deal, and like any sane human, he chose the tax free state with 80 degree weather. The Bills need to pony up more cash than a team like the Dolphins when competing heads up - they just do, yet didnt. I still blame the Bills, they have to pay 8% more just to make up the NYS taxes, and even more to make a guy like the snow. If they like him enough to offer him a contract then they better offer him a contract he may actually take.

That last play of Poz's, its seems to me like He flowed right over the top of a huge hole, then the play was cut backside right to where Kelsay should have been. If Kelsay was a half decent football player he could make the tackle or at least force it back to Poz. PS: With Poz being a FA this offseason, how com ewe havent made an effort o resign him? He is far and away our best Lber, and they resigned Kelsay. WTF? Like seriously, do they want to go 0-16?
-
Poz has always been very good. He is and ahs been our best tackler for a long time. In coverage he seems to be a half step slow half the time, but covering is not his strength either, and he is adequate. IMO, the people that bash him don’t know what they are looking at really. They notice the many times, like in last weeks game, Poz is/was chasing guys to the sideline as they ran for 7-8 yards and think “Man Poz sucks”. But on a real NFL team the MLB should never be out that wide anyways, as it is the responsibility of every outside defender to force the play back inside to the LB. What I mean is, If the ball is centered between the hashes, Poz should never had to make a tackle more than a yard or two outside to hashes. If the Ball is on the left hash, Poz should never have to make a tackle outside the right hash or the left number. That’s the main reason Keith Ellison is/was one of the worst OLBs I have ever seen play in my lifetime – He could never force anything inside (he couldn’t cover either but that’s another issue) which resulted in Poz pursuing the runner all over the place, which exposed him as not the most athletic MLB in the NFL, but the very good MLB that is limited in his sideline to sideline athleticism. Now with Kelsay and Torbor and Maybin at OLB its still just as bad. Poz is a guy who would be so much better with competent teammates.

Cornell Green to IR to make room for Merriman
High Mark replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
why can teams just IR guys that arent injured? Cornell first gets benched and its called a mystery injury, now here on IR. Who do they think they are fooling? Do they save money this way? Why not just cut him? Like early in TC Nic Harris failed his physical, why not IR him and see what he can bring to the team next year? Whats the point in cutting him? -
Is Nix going to get Merriman back on Roids?

They also dont stay in your system for over a year -
Because of the same things that guy said. While his completion % is good, he accuracy (he calls it ball placement) is bad. When it is as bad as Mallets is, it equals lots of INTs and missed opportunities. He also doesnt read defenses that well - its mroe his offense, which is why Brohm was so great in college and has been a nothing in the NFL, and why their backup came in the other day and lit it up just like Mallet does. I don't understand how those things are so hard for everyone to see.

You mean how he threw the ball over 60% of the time when coaching the Rams? Look it up and do the math yourself if you don’t believe me. HINT: (pass attempts+sacks ) / (pass attempts+sacks+rushing attempts) *100 =???% Pro-football-reference.com

Bill Polian's last four drafts
High Mark replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you that Polian has dropped the ball as of late – I have thought so for a while. He has ignored his OL too much and it has hurt their running game a lot and even affect their passing game. They have also been bad against the run forever and it has never been corrected, which has hurt them. When you ignore the lines, you lose. But Hughes was out there a lot last night and was generating good pressure – far more than Maybin ever has. Alas, when you have the best QB of all time you should win more than 1 Superbowl. -
I’d like to consider myself one of the most realistic (some call it being negative but that’s another argument) posters around here. I haven’t felt like the Bills have had a legitimate chance to win yet this season, but that changes this week. Here is why. The Bills cannot stop the run at all. The only reason I feel the Bills were able to stay with the Ravens and Chiefs the last two weeks is because the they both over-thought their game plans and elected to pass too often instead of running the ball 75% of the time – if they had committed to the run they would have blown us away. This week, the bears won’t even try to run the ball. They simply refuse to under Mike Martz, evidenced by his entire career. This huge weakness of the Bills suddenly is not a liability. The Bills have no pass rush. A main reason for this is the terrible FO resigning bums like Kelsay and drafting obvious busts like Maybin. But this week the Bears will play right into our hands by calling 7 step drops with extremely long developing routes with bad receivers who cannot get open and a QB whose pocket presence makes me scream “Losman!” Even our horrible DL should be able to pressure this quarterback. Mike Martz, throughout his career, has never utilized a TE properly. That’s great news for this buffalo team – as we cannot cover any TE under any circumstance. The Bills are a bad team. And how to bad teams win? Turnovers and/or special teams. It is those two reason the Bills have finished 7-9 for the past 5 years. This year we are winless bc Bobby April left town and took our quality ST units with him, and we only have 1 INT. Enter the most turnover prone offense in the NFL. We are going to need 2 or 3 turnovers to win ANY game this season, and against the Bears its actually likely to happen. Gailey’s offense seems to be making strides. Our passing game/S. Johnson are really starting to impress. But, if Gailey has learned anything from the past two games its run more, pass less. I may be giving Gailey too much credit here but I think he will catch on this week – as I am sure C. Howard will be blocking Peppers most of the day and we saw the impact T. Hali had Sunday. Even if you don’t think Gailey will commit to the run enough this week, we have time on our side. What do I mean you ask? I think that, because of the aforementioned points, we will actually be WINNING in the 4th quarter! Being up late in the 4th will essentially FORCE Gailey to run the ball more and give us a win in Toronto. PS here is to all the 1 win teams winning also so we can stay in the driver’s seat for the #1 pick!

You dont pay much attention do you. Williams has drawn constant double teams since mid 2008. He also beats them often, especially yesterday. Its nice that the media and fans are starting to notice how good this guy is. I do agree with you that he is an undersized NT, but he is playign great. I really think he could be an absolute stud at DE tho. On another note I have been very unimpressed with Troup. He is a guy who gets pushed all over the field. He can barely hold his own when he takes on one blocker and reminds me of a blocking sled when he is double teamed. If this guy was taken to be our Anchor in the middle we are gonna be watching a lot of bad run defense.

Acho isnt a LB. He is a pretty slow dude. Solder is pretty bad I could see him falling but maybe not that far.

Anyone with ESPN Insider - Schefter Q&A
High Mark replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His lack of starting experience and Matt Ryan aside, he is one of if not the most sure-thing QB prospects I can remember. Lack of Starts didnt keep Sanchez out of the top 5 either. If Luck Declares, not only is he hands down the top rated QB, I think he is easily the BPA on the board. I just dont see a pass rusher or LT or any other player at any position clearly worth the top pick this year. (I said pass rusher and LT bc they along with QB are generally the only positions considered for the top pick. I dont see a no brainier stud like Calvin Johnson or Suh at another position to be the consensus top guy) Its a decision only the Bills could mess up -
I heard Nix was asleep

Yea, why would we want good players, or did someone not wake Nix up? -
Why call 3 pass plays with 1:30 left in OT?
High Mark replied to DFITZ1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because we have terrible play calling. We have most of the season. FWIW Kcs was bad too. -
Be prepared to be called a negative A hole and an idiot for saying this. Thats what happened to me last week.

The Worst Decade of Drafting In NFL History?

LT – Brandon Albert – (Drafted 4 picks after Leodis McKelvin in 2008) Why didnt you pick Ryan Clady as the what if pick? -
Charles Davis - another non expert . "I have less of a problem with Maybin at 30" - Implying he still has a problem with Maybin at 30. That comment right there solidifies Mayock’s stance that Maybin was not a 1st round talent in Mayock’s eyes. Man am I glad you aren't my lawyer. Further still you cannot refute that Maybin was Mayocks 4th best 34 OLB and the number of 3-4 OLBs that were drafted, lasting into the 4th round. From the week of the draft: http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?id=09000d5d80dff358&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true EXCUSE ME!!! I was WRONG!!! Maybin was tied for 5th best OLB! My mistake

From EPSN and NFLN? Did you miss the week+ long topics about the deliberation and the insider discussions from Schefter/Mortensen/Clayton??? – it was all over TV.
-
Get your facts straight. The extension as durign the 4-1 start. There was much deliberation about him being fired at the END of the season Then its yes, as he must of supported the drafting of Maybin as he was his second BPA Mayock had Maybin as the 4th best 3-4 OLB. He didn’t even grade him as a DE as he said he 100% could never play that position in the NFL. Now he didn’t grade him in one round or another – but look at that draft. Guess where the 4th best 3-4 OLB gets drafted- THE FORTH ROUND. Is it that asinine? What IS asinine is taking McShay’s word over evidence to the contrary. I realize it’s a guessing game. But If I walked over and threw my computer out the window, do you really have to be there to know it hits the ground? Doesn’t reasonable logic tell you that it does? Ok PTR. Show me one piece of evidence from a credible source. A $10 godaddy website doesn’t make you a draft expert. Kiper and McShay are your other evidence? Thanks for making my argument for me. Mayock is the only credible media guy out there – as evidenced by his track record vrs the other guys. He had Maybin way down on his board. (see above) If you could drum up one single credible source, like a GM, Former GM (not Matt Millen), someone who knows something, maybe you would have an argument. But that’s just another giant swing and a miss…. Seriously, does anyone remember the media “experts” loving a guy name George Selvie? He was a “top 10 lock” his Sophomore year. 2 years later he goes in the 7th round. Did he get that much worse or was he never that good? That’s what happened here with Maybin. One good statistical year, idiots like McShay say he is a top 10 pick, other idiots on EPSN regurgitate it, other idiots with $10 websites copy McShay/Kiper, Juaron and the rest of the FO apparently fell for it.
