  1. +10 If you cant block one of the best in college, how are you gonna block the best in the NFL? (which is exactly who Bell couldnt block Sunday - the NFLs best) I think if we had a RT worth a damn, and could afford TE help to Bell, he could do just fine. I am not supirsed he got abse by Allen 1 v 1. Draft Love/Carmi with our 2nd if we get the chance and then put it all to rest. Maybe trade up if one goes off the board but plaese do something!!!!!!!!
  2. While I agree with your view and I am one of those fans who wants a high pick, the logic is lost that the Bills simply cannot draft - at all - in the first few rounds. We DIDNT miss out on all the top Ts. Bulaga could have been our guy. I sure would have liked to see a tackle, either right or left, that wasnt horribly owned by #69 on every snap like out Ts were today. I sure would have traded Spillers 35 rushing yards and average return abilites for it too. Tamba hali owned our RT. Our OL has been pretty good in some games but is still manhandled at times. We would have taken Spiller if we had the 2nd pick in the draft. So while yes you are right, it does us no good becase we cannot draft, period.
  3. You mean they are finally going to drop?
  4. Thats not accurate, its based on SOS, then record vrs common opponents (i beleive) then coin toss. Head to head does not factor in.
  5. When you give up 200 yards a game in rushing your SS is going to have a lot of tackles, especially when he cannot cover anyone. If this is a career year, then he truely has had a weak career
  6. I cant fine anythign wrong with any of the comments made, which is very sad for the NFL. Go Bills and Go college football!
  7. There are plenty of ubber rich people with ties to Western NY who would buy the Bills. I am not worried in the least.
  8. Me too. It will be cool to see TG get a lot of the carries against us. I really liked him as a potential Bills RB so it will be cool if we can see some of him V Spiller.
  9. Steelers LB James Harrison has been fined $25,000 for roughing the passer, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Harrison made “helmet contact” to the chest of Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was in a defenseless position at the time the contact was made. - OK that where I have a serious beef with this fine. The NFL admits it was a helmet to chest contact. Yet it wasnt spearing, because his head was up and his facemask went into his chest and not the top of the helmet. How else is he supposed to hit someone? YEARS ago they stopped teaching players to lower their head, and hit the the top of the shoulder because of all the neck injuries (kevin evertte anyone? Or how about this http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-20020027-10391704.html ) When a player lowers their head, so that the spine is closer to level with the ground (and not perpendicular), they are at HUGE risk. They dont always make contact with the shoulder and ofter end up jamming players with the neck either head on or to the side. I myself partially tore nerves in my sholder and lost 30% of my strenth in my left arm playing in highschool by taking a hit on the side of my head because I didnt keep it up. It took at least 6 months to get back to 100% Thats why nowadays it is taught at all levels of football to go "dobber to dobber" or "Power Z" or whatever you wanna call it. Head up, knees bent, bury your facemask in the guys numbers - taking the bulk of the force in the chest. Poz does a very good job at this if you ever notice how he tackles. IMO thats what Harrison did to Fitz, it was boarderline textbook. Maybe the top of his hat got Fitz chin, and Harrison being a small guy shoulda been lower, but what about taller defenders? Fitz isnt very tall, so he will inevitably get hit in the face more than taller guys. When a guy hits a QB with a safe (by safe i mean for the defender - they are at risk too), form tackle like that I dont think it should be penalized (I didnt think it was late or Fitz was "defenseless" - all QBs are defenseless when they are back there). That is only going to result in defenders getting neck injuries and paralized. Maybe they need to legalize "facemask hits" vrs "helmet" or "crown of the helemt hits" which remain illegal. Next week or next year I dont want to see Harrison paralized from the chest down because he flies into someone with his head down. Thats what they are moving towards with these rules.
  10. I think this is good news for the Bills. But if you Google San Diego and LA, they are 2hrs and 4 mins apart by car. I have no idea if this is accurate or not with traffic, but as I have to drive an hour and a half to Bills games, IMO LA already has a team, they are the SD Chargers.
  11. And I would as: 1.Fairley 2.Bowers 3.Dareus 4.Clayborne 5.Heyward Bowers is prob a better play straight up than Fairley but Fairley is more a 5 tech. Heyward/Claiborne are playing themselves out of the top 10 while the other 3 are locks at this point. Heyward/Claiborne may end up falling out of rd 1.
  12. Whatever happend to his college teammate Chase Coeffman? I believe he was cut by the Bungals this preseason.
  13. Bowers is a monster. DOnt focus on his weight, at 280, he could play DE or OLB. Quinn dominated Coztanza last year. So either Coztanza is worse than top 10 or Quinn should be much higher. IMO its Coztanza is rated too high
  14. And I posted a link to video of the Polamalu pick. I have a great freeze frame that shows what I am saying. I was under the impression we could post pictures now with the upload tool while making a new thread.
  15. Yes it hit him in the hands, I said that, but witha 6 foot wingspan it could be anywhere in a 6 foot diameter and technically "hit him in the hands" It was a bad pass. If you can post images let me know http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2010112801/2010/REG12/steelers@bills#tab:watch Fitz is such a leader....leading us to another lose. And PS I dont own an xbox
  16. This play caught a ton of flack. Was it catchable? Yes. Was it high and behind the WR? Yes. Is this a ball that is routinely caught in the NFL? No. When throwing a slant pass the ball can not slow the WR down and it most certainly cannot be high. That is one of the very simple basics of quarterbacking. This pass was high and did not lead the WR. Being slightly behind the WR allowed the DB to make a play on the ball and resulted in the WR not catching it. It was high which made it a tough catch and the reason the S was able to pick it off. If the ball was leading the WR and at waist height or lower like it should have been, the DB cannot make a play on the ball and even if SJ doesnt catch it, it wouldnt have been picked. That is why I put the blame on this pick on Fitz. This is why I am always complaining about Fitz's accuracy. This is why I dont feel confident in him being able to take us to the playoffs. This is the same reason why I dont liek Mallet as a prospect. We are 0-3 in overtime, and dont have a good record in the 4th Qrter either. A poorly placed pass, like this one, like the one vrs KC, like the one vrs Balt, they play a huge part in why we are 2-9. If he cannot take us to the Playoffs, he is not my QB of the future. ok I have a picture here that I tired to upload but it didnt work? Any advice?
  17. IMO Carimi is ar RT, but not as good coming out as Bulaga and Oher were. They went 23-24 overall. Carimi in more of a Phil Loadholt type guy, although Carimi is better. Loadholt went 54th overall which is the 22nd pick in the 2nd round. Both of those drafts where much stronger at the T position than this draft, so that makes me think he will be over-drafted Even still I think he could go anywhere from 27th overall to 42nd overall. That would be my prediction. We will be right at the end of that range so maybe he is still around.
  18. Big Cat, dont you know college stats are the best way to evaluate QBs and project them to the next level? Thats why Graham Harrell, Chase Daniels, and Colt Brennan are on their way to HOF careers after putting up Monster #s in college. Heck, Thats why Brian Brohm was able to unseat Aaron Rodgers as the starting in GB and not the Bills 3rd string to start this season - he had better college stats than Rodgers so GB decided to draft him. After throwing for over 4000 yards, 29 TDs to 12 INTs, with 65% completion % GB knew he was the guy. (Mallet, with one game remaining, has just under 3600 yards, 30 Tds, and 11 INTs in the same college system Brohm played in, their production is nearly identical) Stats are the only way to grade out QBs, which is why next years top prospect and likely #1 overall pick is Mallets backup, Tyler Wilson, who in 1 half vrs the #2 team in the country Auburn, threw 332 yards and 4 TDs!!! Thats over 850 yards and 8 TDs if he played the whole game!!!! I cannot figure out why He doesn't start over Mallet - Mallet has never come close to those #s. Since #s are all that matters Tyler Wilson should start over Mallet and we should trade up to draft him #1 overall next year!!!!!
  19. Are you convinced he can be a LT? Im not, I think he bends too much at the waist which gets him off balence. Plus the Bills may grade him lower bc Gailey is so pass happy and Carimis strength is teh running game. Dont get me wrong I would love for him to be manning the RT spot for us but I think we will pick no later than 9 and I dont think he is going to go any higher than Oher and Bulaga did.
  20. Carimi in the top 10? I love the guy but thats an enormous reach. On I do not like in the least. And no thanks to teh Oregon QB, .
  21. sick
  22. I know he has great size but he is also athletic as hell. I mentioned the GT youtube video I watched because he was playing in a 2 point stance - like an OLB would. I think he could excell at 34 end or olb, but fits best as a 4-3 end. All I would want is him rushing the passer and playing the run - he was amazing vrs the run last night. I only saw parts of one game (last night) but I could see the Panthers taking this guy to replace Peppers if they wanted to try out Clausen more. He is a Carolina guy after all. I think there is a huge flaw in the logic of "BPA regardless" and that is the scouts ranking them. These grades players get are all peoples opinions, like ranking the hottest girl in high school 1-10 - you can never be certain a player will be that good. I bet the 9ers are pissed they traded up for Davis when they could of sit tight and taken Bulaga. I think its horribly trivial and naive to think that a teams scouting department is that icredible at their jobs to rank players 1-300 in the exact order of whos best to whos worst. OK so they ranked a CB 4th best overall, and the top DLineman left is 10th. Id take the 10th overall player bc there is a very large chance that the 10th overall DL is actually better than the 4th and my scouts screwed up. Not every guy ranks girls the same and not every scout ranks players the same. The Bills scouts had Spiller as BPA- yet we didnt need a RB and our team could have been better with another position. Well, isnt there a posibility SPiller will pan out NOT to be the BPA? Yes, there is that chance. So, why feel the need to be tied into the "BPA ragardless mantality"? I think a much smarter way to gauge prospects would be to have a tiered system with groups of players rather than a list. That way, when i gets to your pick, you have a group of players who are all ranked the same and can take the best one for your team. Last year, the "Super Elite" guys would have likely been Bradford, Suh, McCoy, and Berry. Put them in your top tier. If any of them are still available when we pick at 9, draft one regardless of position - you always take a guy from your highest tier. The next level down of players would have likely included T WIlliams, Okung, Spiller, D. Bryant, Bulaga, Iupati, Gresham, among others. They could be in the 2nd tier- essentailly all having the same grade as the bests and their position. When its yoru pick, take who you think will help the team the most. Take a guy from your highest tier available and take the positions that help your team the ebst.
  23. Carimi or Love in the 2nd would me awesome. I havent seen the TCU guy but I have heard he is more of a G in the NFL. Sherrod and Soldier stink thought I wouldnt want them at all One of my faroite guys is Carpenter from Bama. He is also regarded as a G but 3rd-4th round he would be a road grading monster. Another late round guy is LSUs blacksdale who could be a solid interior prospect. With no true stud LTs in this draft, I am seeing a lot of good road grading RTs and G/Cs. Carimi or Love could be 2nd rounders. There are a handful of good Gs and Cs. If the Bills invest 2 picks in rd 2-4 on quality lineman I think we could solidify our OL. Of course I said the same thing last year and we didnt do anything about it
  24. Mallet will be unlikely to declare after he isnt given a 1st round grade from the advisory commitee. PS I bet that DE Bowers goes in the top 2-3 and we wont be trading down to get him. And no LT is worth a top pick bc they arent that great this year. Carimi/Love would look great at RT in rd 2 though. Maybe M. Austin in rd2 at DE.
