  1. You forgot strength or schedule, which is the first tie breaker - even before head to head. The Bills currently ranks sixth hardest in the NFL. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft09/news/story?id=4027503 Teams with the same winning % are ranked by easiest SOS to hardest. Assuming the SOS rankings stay the same, that means we draft last of all the 4-12 teams. Our only hope is to lose out AND be the only 4-12 team. My bet is we finish 5-12 beating either KC or Indys back ups. That means we pick last of all the 5 win teams, or second to last if Carolina has 5 wins. That could move us as far back as 12-14. The NFL policy for determining draft order screws us every year. We have the same record as the 49ers 2 years in a row, lose to them two years in a row, and draft behind them two years in a row. Its going to screw us again this year.
  2. Then we could trade Kirk Chambers for their entire O line.
  3. It was all over ESPN for 2-3 weeks. Not saying it should have any merit, but it was said.
  4. Week 1: Andre Johnson is on my fantasy team - half the games this season have been identical to this. Week 2: Same as above Week 4: Marques Colston never puts up huge numbers either Week 11: He allowed a touchdown Week 12: If it was 3 years ago this would mean something to men Week 13: Allowing 3 catches for 31 yards is a bad outing vrs Buffalo TO. Im still not impressed and would take McGee every day. And I assume that you figure Devis covered these guys every snap every play lock down man coverage every time. My guess is they played some zone. Maybe Wes Wlker had 6 catches in his zone..... Stop drinking the ESPN Kool Aid
  5. Mike Pollack Tarik Glenn Tony Ugoh I just named one of the Colts starting Guards, and TWO of their FORMER LTs. Now I cannot think of any other team I could do that with (not counting the Bills). Dont forget Jeff Saturday either. Not exactly a bunch of no names.
  6. As if we needed another Corner..... IMO Revis is as over rated as they come. He has gotten high praise since day one but all my memories of him were letting WRs catch TD passes. Apparently this year he has been better, but I attribute that the the Jets D being so good as one unit, not him individually. I think I could have shut down TO/the Bills Offense at this point. McGee is hands down a better corner IMO. I really really wanted Willis, but when he was selected I would have taken Beason. We needed a stud LB and let a great one pass us by (again). Mike Mayock rated Beason as the top LB so it would not have been a reach. You never draft RBs in the first half of the 1st round unless its Peterson/Sanders/Dickerson etc. RBs are a dime a dozen and only produce for 4-5 years and are more a product of the OL play than anything else. Ray Rice was a second rounder. Steve Slaton a 4th. Willie Parker undrafted. Fred Jackson undrafted. Frank Gore a 2nd or 3rd I believe. Tashard Choice 5th. I could go on all day. The high first round is for HOF RBs. Lynch is good but no HOFer.... We then could have saved a pick and not traded up for Poz. Maybe he falls to our origanl 2nd rounder and we take him anyways, or maybe he is gone and we ended up with David Harris - who is better than Poz. Or we end up getting Lynch anyways. Who knows how it pans out, too bad it always pans out worse for the Bills...
  7. I can think of one. I think they are from Canada......
  8. Riddle me this Bills fans... Lets see how many Bills players have.. - Played in an NFL playoff game - Won an NFL playoff game. I can think of 4 that made the playoffs. Mitchell, Stroud, Florence, and TO. I know Mitchell has won a few with the Giants, and I assume the others have too, but Im not even sure. This, IMO, is the biggest problem with our roster. Our so called "veteran leaders" dont know what it takes to win in the NFL - BECAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER DONE IT. How can a guy as good as Schobel has been his entire career tutor a guy like Maybin when Schobel himself has NEVER MADE THE PLAYOFFS. He has no clue what kind of effort and preparation it takes. This is not solely his fault, but you get the picture. When a HOFer like Ray Lewis tells you to do something, young players listen. When basement dwellers like Kelsay are team captains, I HOPE Maybin DOESNT listen. IMO we need to really consider bringing in a guy like Richard Seymour or someone similar. Somone who can still play with the best of them AND bring in a winning mentality and work ethic. Someone who could say "In 200X - what helped us win the Superbowl was...." There is a ton of added value in that signing as he can set an example for all the young guys and help the Bills ditch the loser mentality. Unless I missed it, Seymour is still set to be a FA this year.... Get er Done Russ...
  9. I agree we need to move up. But its all moot with the horses ass Tom Modrak leading the way. When has he ever identified the top players.... EVER. Not to mention the top QB will be long gone by pick 3. I would take Russel Okung either way. He is a top NFL player at his position. I cant say that with any conviction in regards to this years crop of QBs.
  10. Ill never know how Washington goes into an Offseason with 8 Mil in cap room, then signs Haynesworth, Hall, Dockery to deals totaling like 180 million with 80 guaranteed. And the lowly Bills can sign Jeff Hangartner and TO and use up all their cap space? Something tells me we need a new Cap accountant too.
  11. Kyle Williams. Nic Harris Brad Butler - counting on his return from injury Hardy/Johnson - still havent seen them at all this year/too early to cut loose Brohm - has more promise than anyone else at the position Id keep schobel but at half his current salary. Other than that I like everything about your list.
  12. His OL sure does.
  13. I thought we should trade Lynch? Man most fans are so clueless. Lynch saw the first two holes he has since 2008 and had two huge runs. Lynch is a patient runner who waits for holes to open up then blasts through them, but he happens to run behind the worst line in the league - which never opens a hole for him. This results in him basically standing there gaining no yards. Lynch has never been the problem, its the OL. Jackson has produced more as of late because he is a different style runner who uses elusiveness rather than patience and on the plays with no hole he gets 2-3 yards while Lynch gets none. Its really no secret why we cant run OR pass.... there is one common denominator... Good original post, I think most fans were thinking the same thing - I know my crowd at the bar was.
  14. I heard they are taking Berry because they heard he has a quick first step and think he could be a great DE. He is bigger than Maybin anyways...
  15. Cut Kelsay and Denney, Ellison, Roscoe, demmand Schobel takes a 60% paycut or cut him too. Let TO Walk. Sign some real players with the extra $$$$
  16. Thanks for making my point. Football (offensive anyways) is about the OL and QB. It doesn't matter who you WRs are because as long as they are adequate, you can win games. I love Evans, he is one of the best players on this team, but Id rather have a 9 Million dollar LT, and a guy like Kevin Walter from the Texans.
  17. Haha, on ESPN today, the segment with Herm Edwards, he says something along the lines of "Going on the road, in winter, the Jets have a tough game ahead of them" Too bad the Bills are on the road too, the game will be more like a Jet home game with the fans, and the game is indoors.... Why cant I be an ESPN analyst?
  18. So are you saying that as he gets older, he will become a better 3-4 OLB than 4-3 DE? I still dont get the 3-4 OLB thing....
  19. There was no UFL option....
  20. I dont understand it. Where does this notion of him playing as a 3-4 OLB come from? As a OLB in a 3-4, he will be expected to "push thru an offensive lineman " He will effectively play the exact same role of pass rusher. He hasnt been able to get any kind of pressure rushing against the LT as a DE, but he is somehow magically going to be able top get pressure rushing against the LT as a OLB? IMO his only chance of being able to see the field is as a OLB in the 4-3. He is quick sure, and looks athletic, but he cannot generate any kind of push/rush. He will rarely take on an OL in a 4-3, and if he is blitzed there is a high chance a back or TE picks him up. IMO he only has a chance at LB in a 4-3 because he wont be expected to rush the passer against NFL O lineman. Hopefully he has the strength to play the SAM, but I think he will be a WILL - if he ever starts.
  21. Well, just for the record, the discussion is about Corey Williams Id rather have Shaun Rodgers though I guess not anymore. He had a "lower leg injury" which will require surgery....
  22. Has Jim Harbaugh scheduled an interview yet?
  23. So let me get this straight, he is the Bills HC, but ND has to pay him 4-6 Mill a year? SOLD!!!! - Ralph Wilson Jr.
  24. Maybe we could get a Bill board together to fire Jauron....
  25. Because the draft is most certainly NOT a crap shoot. If you have any kind of eye for talent and do your due diligence you will hit 9/10 times. Yes there are things not everyone can account for but are you going to tell me that Polian has just been "lucky" all these years? That whole "draft is a crap shoot" idea is complete BS.
