  1. In the past, the Bills trying to sign a "mid-level" FA has ended terribly. The only one I can think of who has done well is Florence this season. With Guy gone and Nix in charge that may change. Derrick Johnson would be a great mid level addition at OLB. But my dark horse for "big splash FA is one of two guys.... Seymour Wilfork. - If we go 3-4 Wilfork will come in I think, Seymour could either way. - Dont forget that a lot of the names being thrown around, ie McNiel, wont be a FA with the CBA expiring.
  2. Dude has a 30" waste. He is not getting much bigger
  3. A) Maybin is not 250. B) Maybin may be an ok size, but he is most certainly too weak, and plays with no leverage, which makes him seem even weaker. Size and strength are often confused.
  4. Beluga declared recently. He is the best run blocker of them all, and a big reason why I want him. His pass protection is ok, but I would be happier with him on the right side than left. As far as the second round goes, I dont think we find any LTs better than him though. I just hope we had an OL in the 2nd - because the value will be there and we have the luxary of being able to draft any position on the OL - as Butler/Wood can slide around. Okung in the 1st is my #2 choice behind only Suh. Okung and Beluga would give us the best young tackles around.
  5. So in your Madden franchise.... Not being mean, just pointing out how rediculous the thought of us landing anyone with any kind of significance is.
  6. By your implication one would think that Whitner, Evans, and McKelvin would be All Pro DEs. Again, I am not sure where this notion of Maybin as a stud 3-4 OLB came from. He will be asked to play the exact same role of pass rusher as he did this year. If you dont remember, Maybin had 0 sacks, 0 QB knockdowns, 0 QB hurries. Somehow him being listed as a LB on the roster will change that? I understand it may be difficult to switch positions. But his chance of success -albiet still incredibly small - is much much higher at 4-3 OLB than 4-3 DE.
  7. Word on the street is that there will be a Rookie salary cap for this coming draft. It was on PFT. That will make trading up and down more doable IMO as $ is less of an issue.
  8. Its his right, no real argument there.
  9. Maybin is not a DE. He simply never was. He is too weak and does not use leverage. I do not see how he will ever be able to rush the passer, and I dont even wanna talk about his play against the run. Therefore he cannot be a 4-3 DE if he cannot rush the passer. If this team goes to the 3-4, the only thing that will change is A) Maybin will now be listed as an OLB on the officail roster, and B) he will rush from a 2 point stance and not a 3 point stance. Now How exactly will either of those two things help him rush the passer? It wont as the LT will still be able to dominate him physically. Basically I don't see Maybin as the pass rusher we were supposed to be getting when we drafted him. So what are our options? In a 4-3 he is surely athletic enough to play Will. I am not sure he is stout enough to play Sam. Either way we need help at both positions. I think the sooner he is a 4-3 OLb the better - if that is the D we run next season. 3-4, I dont see him playing the Ware/Merriman/Harrison ROLB aka pass rusher role for reasons stated above. That doesn't mean he couldn't play inside or on the left side at OLB, where his pass rushing duties would be decreased. I think relying on him to play the pass rushing role, if we go 3-4 in 2010, would be a huge mistake. Overall I think his best fit would be 4-3 OLB, most likely as a Will where he wont have to take on as many blocks and will be able to flow to the ball using his acceleration and quickness. Flame on
  10. Dude, Poz played 3-4 ILB at Penn state. He is certainly NOT a 3-4 outside - 4-3 OLB I could understand. Agree on Stroud. He is a 3 tech tackle.
  11. 100% of Nix's scouting experience is scouting for the 3-4, I started a thread like this one when he was hired. Poz is a 3-4 ILB, he played there in College and can do it. Maybin is a toss up as he simply can not rush the passer at any level - so I dont see how he is supposed to magically be a great 3-4 OLB. IMO Mitchel and Poz inside, with Maybin on the left side (where he will be asked to rush less frequently). It basically is a wash. 3-4 we need a NT and one LB, 4-3 we need a DE and one LB. The only difference is Schobel could become more expendable in the 3-4 which equals another draft pick.
  12. The Bills are my team because I live closer to them than any other NFL team. That, honestly, is the single reason. Its not like I love their style of football , or get excited watching their games , or like them cause they always win , or love their awesome tradition of excellence , or am a fan of the superstar players on the team , or think they have really cool uniforms - you know, the reason most people start rooting for a team other than its their local team. I think that is what is most embarrassing about this franchise. There is no reason to like them - AT ALL - other than "I am from Buffalo/WNY and so are they". I mean yea, I guess if you were young and liked watching the Kelly era Bills, and got hooked you could still like them today - but how many of those band wagon jumpers are STILL around rooting on the Bills 20 years later? Thats why this franchise is "dying" and exporting games to Canada - its because they have no fans outside the Buffalo Market (this does not include displaced WNYers obviously). Think about how many Dallas and Miami fans you know who are from WNY, there are many. How many Buffalo fans are there native to Dallas and Miami? Not many. I know I turned on a bunch of Minn games this year (I like their style of football) Same with Balt and Dallas. I turned on a bunch of Skins and Tenn games to watch specific players (VY/Orakpo). No one does that with the Bills - hell they couldnt if they tried, Buffalo is never broadcast nationwide. We suck.
  13. Baluga is the real deal. Any word on if he declared yet? I f8cking hope so. That way I can get super pissed when the Bills pass on him and he goes onto being the best run blocker in the NFL while I wait 10 years for the Bills pick to develop.
  14. Why should I be embarrassed? Its ALL TRUE. We are a joke of a franchise. A really funny joke.
  15. GT, up 1 with 0:26 left before halftime, elect to throw the ball deep while backed up at their own 24 yard line. Watch and see what happens..... Reminds me of the JP Losman sack-fumble-touchdown playcall vrs the Jets.
  16. Wood is my favorite player hands down. A kid on my college team had a tib-fib break, and was back running around for fall practices the next season - I would guess 7-8 months later. He hadnt missed a step really. I hope Wood can do the same. If Wood is back, I really want him moved inside to center. I dont want to see Hangartner get bowled over every other week and surrenduring sacks to the NTs in this division on a regular basis. Draft a big bad RT in the 2nd, or get FA, and slide Wood back inside, along with Butler. That way we get depth and a better OL in one player. Its just so blatently obvious that the Bills willa void doing it....
  17. My IQ is room temp. My thermometer reads in Kelvin though. Most others use Celcius.
  18. Agree with Florence, but what, it took 3 straight years of bringing in a vet CB to get a good one. The others, whose names I cant even remember - one was a former Eagle I do recall - were cut after camp. Throw in the Dockery/Fowler/Hangartner/Triplett/other signings... our scouting team blows. They straight up f*cking blow. I mean really, when the offseason broke this team made Hangartner their #1 offseason addition. Hangartner the #1 addition? What a joke that was. What a joke this team is.
  19. Dude that was the late 90s (cowboys), with his most succesful season at GT being a 9 win season (2006) - not much to brag about in todays ACC. Coaches, just like everything else in life, have their time at the top. Gaileys seems to be over a decade ago. No one else would take the job, thats my thinking.
  20. Ok I get the Warner thing now. But I dont see any problem with an abortion ad. I mean really, just use a condem, they are cheaper anyways.
  21. Watching guys jog up and down a soccer field during play is so much more exciting than watching guys jog back to the huddle after a play..... Im not sure what excites you, but getting into position to maybe tap a ball with my head just doesnt do it for me. And second, the world loves football. Thast why I watched every bowl game this year in spanish on Mexican television. Thats why the NFL exports games to England and Mexico city. And third, I hate that whole name thing. Football is football because thats what its called. Hockey isnt suacer on ice game, its hockey. Names are supposed to make it easier to relate to a thing or object, not be the deffinition of said thing or object.
  22. MLB games are >3 minutes.
  23. False. Coach>>>>>>>>>>>>>GM/Players
  24. Maybe I missed it, but why is Warner>>>>>>> Tebow? I assume you mean Kurt Warner too, I must be out of the loop.
  25. No thanks for Dixon. Huge accuracy issues. Did you watch the game he played in this year? Awful it was.
