I agree, we are closer to a solid 4-3 than 3-4. But at the same time you cant be playing Kelsay at OLB in the 4-3 (which I saw yesterday). Just let him play LDE. Carrington can play there too, and I have seen him inside at the 3 tech which I think is a decent move. Davis I always thought was good but has barely played. But PLEASE give Moats a chance. He produced last year as a rusher, I have no reason to think he cant this year. We have to try something different.

When I was in pop warner, they would have every kid practice every position. The VERY FIRST THING they taught us during DB drills was to look back for the ball when the WR does. McKelvin aparently thinks you need to spin in a circle. Seriously, he shoulda had 2 or 3 easy picks if he could just look for the ball. He has gotten som PI calls because of that too. He was decently in position, but those balls were bad throws and should have been easy picks. Turning your head back to the ball is just not that hard. I have to wonder what our DB coach is doing, it should be second nature for the guy. Either way the guy is a 4 year vet and cant do it? Maybe the ship has sailed, bring back Greer...

Bengals have the #1 defense in the league
High Mark replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this game exposed that our OL and DL are still weak, particularly on the outside. M Johnson and Dunlop were pressuring Fitz all day which really hurt us. 1—Our Ts need to block better, 2—Why aren’t our ends[LBs] in the backfield more consistently? -
Rushing the passer is rushing the passer is rushing the passer. Kelsay and Merriman play with their hand down but are linebackers. Sometimes they stand up. It really makes no difference Hell, I have seen Dareus take the outside rush position standing up in the alst two games. If Osi is his old self he is a stud. We arent giving up any of those draft picks for him though.

Who's the big Moats fan around here?
High Mark replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont know if you are referring to me eball but I was/am one of the bigger Moats at OLB guys around. No suprise they are moving him back. Our pass rush has been missing and he was our best rusher last year. He made a nice STs play last week. Good to have him back! he has been dominating v the run. The biggest reason our run D has improved if you ask me. FWIW he was tackled on one play that would have been a sack, and should have been a hold, v NE. -
Do the bills have the best O-line in the NFL?
High Mark replied to buffalover4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets be honest, the Patriots have the best OL by a WIDE margain. F'ing girly Brady stood locked kneed and flat footed before tossing that one TD pass to Welker. I've never seen any other QB do that, ever, and Brady does it every week. The time that guy has had his entire career is just astonishing. Forget that Kelsay (Merriman ahs another which stands out) should have drawn 5+ flags for extremly obvious holdings.... -

Do the bills have the best O-line in the NFL?

Yep. -
He is teh Bills rep to the Players Union. I am pretty certain the players gave him the nickname.
-
Stevie would be a restricted FA.

The key to running the ball is the interior three. New G and a backup center for the first two games. I wouldnt read too much into it.
-
Note to Wilson. Good teams = higher ticket prices and more merchandise sales!!!!!

Lets give credit where it is due. Our first two drafts havent been very impressive to date (I repeat, to date). Considering our recent talent level and high draft picks I would expect more than one starter. I give credit to Chan Gailey. The FO has done well adding some of the players, Gailey and his offensive system has gotten them producing A former 'journeyman' QB playing like an elite QB, Chan has gotten more out of FJ than anyone else ever did, and he is using '2nd rate' players like Nelson, Jones, Roosevelt, Chandler to produce better than 'top tier' guys like Evans could. We aren't a better team because of our steller draft picks (at least not yet) I wanted him too, and it was that much worse when NE took him with the very next pick. No way was it a more obvious pick than Orakpo though.

2. Fred Jackson is the best HB of 2011 . It’s time to say it, Fred Jackson (+3.9) is the standard so far in 2011. He is running with power, speed, vision and moves and so far has not been contained by any of the Bills’ opponents. Buffalo has been getting much improved play from their O-line this season too, so the chances that Jackson is slowed down because of those blocking in front of him is pretty slim compared to years before. He still tops the Elusive Rating for the season with a score that remains ridiculous compared with the previous three years of data (119.5) and if anything, was even better in this game despite arguably his toughest test of the season. . 3. Don’t drop Chris Kelsay into coverage. Ever. . The Bills seem to have this utility player approach to Chris Kelsay. He’s linebacker, he’s defensive end, he’s covering a zone 15-yards down field. Wait, what? Unlike most teams with one of these hybrid linebacker/defensive end types, the Bills seem intent on dropping Kelsay as if he was a 230-pound 4-3 linebacker, and they’ve found disastrous consequences. Kelsay (-3.1) is clearly not only uncomfortable, but often completely lost in his zone. Teammates believe that zone is accounted for so they don’t cheat over to help – which they’d need to do if they were watching receivers wander into it completely uncovered. The Bills are giving up too many big plays directly as a result of this at the moment. .

Let's review the "vaunted" Bengals defense this season
High Mark replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cincy has one of the better D lines in the league. They beat the snot out of our OL in the 1st half of last years game. I don't think we over look them but itll be no walk in the park. My bet is they hold us to less points than any team we have played so far (not really saying much though) -
Wierd, I heard justin beiber shaved his head yesterday....
-
Bungals DL is one of the best in the league, no joke. I see them giving us problems. Id like to see a pass rush from us too. Still think we win though.
-
If a Bill is going to win it, It'll be FJ. I think he takes it if we win the division.

[closed]Fantastic discussion of Bills' spread offense
High Mark replied to Lothar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buddy Chan came out and said they want to run a college spread offense. We are running it to perfection right now. Turn on Texas or OK St. this weekend and you will see the Bills offense. -
Comparing Fitz's 1st 16 games vs Kelly's best year
High Mark replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With no offense to Fitz intended, pass defense in the NFL is now illegal. the CBs cannot frown at the WRs without being flagged for interference, D Lineman get 15 yarders for giving the QB a hug, and safeties get penalties for tackling the WR after they catch the ball. Numerous passing records that have stood for years have already been destroyed this season. (like total league wide passing yards in one week, the number of games featuring two 300 yard passers, 300 yard passers, 400 yard passers, most passing yards in three games, and most passing yards by a rookie....twice. And before this week, I think 7-8 QBs were on pace to break Dan Marino's yardage record.) 400(or even 450) is the new 300. -
BB.com sez Wilfork slammed Fitznoggin into turf
High Mark replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On the very next snap some other Dbag ran in and knocked Fitz over and he kneeled down then stood up. The ref was right there, it wouldnt have made a difference but it shoulda been another flag. Obviously the Pats knew we were kneeling, no reason to send a corner blitz and knock him over after the whistle and after he took a knee and stood back up. -
Something tells me Jackson is the back Gailey was hoping Spiller to be. And you would be amazed which one was undrafted.

I was thinking a broken hand could be bad, but I would think he could play depending on how bad it is. Who knows, part of me wants the win but part of me wants to see us play the top teams healthy. I dont want another 5-1 start, 6-10 finish or some schit.
