  1. I have often wondered how this guy got popular with this forum. Now I know, some of you are impressed by his clothes. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
  2. His Det. years worry me, but if he came in with the DL or DB coach as DC and a really solid OC hire maybe. I do want the D to stay together and in his system, plus the players love him and play their hearts out for him. He made crap choices it seems in Det. at OC though and his HC decisions were not the best (his teams always were undisciplined which has been sort of the same here with Maronne, too though) you mean Wanny?
  3. You missed a good part of the 70s and 80s I take it. This should be a thead.
  4. First I want to say thanks HCDM, I am really happy you were here and we got to 9 and 7 this year. But I am also glad he is gone, I think he had a situation and he did what quitters do. I think it is laughable that he is trying to parlay himself into being the next Parcells. I hope he does go to the Jests, they have that nickname for a reason and I really think his anemic offensive philosophies will be a welcome addition to (another team in, yahoo!) the AFC east. Plus the players will love kicking their old coaches teams ass. Just ask Aaron Williams The think I want to see is, if Polian or who ever comes in, they try hard to get the vet QB they need and the Oline fixed up. I think a good portion of the oline woes were Marrone's scheme though and maybe just spreading it out a bit would help. But talent needs to be there too. I also hope they can work it out to keep JS and the defense and keep them just they way they are now. I think it would be great but this is also my biggest worry, that they can't do that with out making JS the HC. I would not really want that unless they put either the DB or DL coach up to DC and hired a real talent @OC. But I think JS has had some really bad OCs before though and he as a HC is lacking a bit as evidenced by his Detroit teams. Has anybody else noticed that since Nix brought in Mario, this team has really been in the news! Especially in the off season. it is pretty amazing and I feel like the team has been moving in a positive direction ever since then too. I just hope this is what needed to happen to keep progressing and there is no 2 steps forward 3 back. BTW, I think I finally know what he meant when he said "Don't confuse effort with results". He really didn't get any results, his DC and D did but him? No, he just made an effort. Go BILLS!!
  5. And the fans gave his anemic offensive a big BOO BOO, then he ran, otherwise perfect! Good job OP.
  6. End Thread/ Oh wait, anybody else feel like their GF just told you she was a lesbian? And last thought, can we get Fitz back next year? We need a back up at least and maybe a starter. I like Fitz for the back up role.
  7. No. WTF makes you think that? He looked really good at times last year, I was ready to let his PreSeason go again, some guys just practice a little during PS. I am actually pretty much fine with that as long as they bring it in the season who freaking cares? The games don't even count! The DUI thing well....to bad big guy, gotta watch the booze, cost you some pennies.
  8. Would have played the Browns in the Superbowl, Cookie vs Jim Brown, can you imagine? That team was probably the most dominate AFL team, that year they were #1 in offense and defense. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/1964.htm Check the link and look at the TD log, that was a dynamic team!
  9. I remember an article in the Courier back in the late 60s talking about 2 offensive linemen (1Bills and 1 Jets) who were over 300lbs, today that is a standard. It is truly a different game, I don't doubt that TS would be a great run stuffing MLB or DE maybe (kind of Spikes like but thinking about it I doubt he had the speed to be on the outside) but he would be way undersized on the interior. He could have been good going into the 70s but by the late 80s and beyond the game had changed and would have left him behind (and I say this respecting that D as the best Bills D ever). BTW I didn't see Greybeards response, I would have agree.
  10. this right here^ except I wasn't a teen yet. I used to love that LS would sub a QB into a game, I mean who ELSE did that? My only problem with Lou is that he didn't use Marlin Briscoe as a QB basically because of race. And here is an interesting thing to look at 41% haha. That team won because of the defence. Player stats[edit] Passing[edit] Player Comp Att Yds Completion % TD INT Jack Kemp 179 391 2368 45.8 10 18 Daryle Lamonica 29 70 376 41.4 3 6 [5] Rushing[edit] Player Att Yds Average Long TD Wray Carlton 156 592 3.8 80 6 [5]
  11. Rest in peace, is all I can say. Addiction is a sickness/disease, a news story like this is like a story about your grandfather having booze snuck into a hospital after his stroke then drinking too much and offing himself (which happened to someone I knew). Click bait, brought to you by the well healed sponsors of the intrawebs. I hate that I fell for it.
  12. The face coding guy should be able to tell because of the players "tells". The show "lie to me" is all about this, it's also a great skill if you play poker. Some people have a high intuitive feel for this, which is how I think it became a 'science'. BTW I like that they showed Cutler and RG3 there #evenmorereasonstostaythe!@#$away especially with JC.
  13. I have no problem with what DW did to get Sammy. I might in a few years but it is way too early at this point and Sammy could turn out to be great (still) ,it's an unknown right now. Simple as that.
  14. My favorite "little guy" player since Mini Max, tough as nails and smart! Does get burned on occasion (some of it due to size) but really reminds me of a young Jabari Greer. I can't believe they picked this guy up UDFA. Amazing!
  15. Hmm my two year old is really really scared of fireworks and today I wore a shirt with some skulls on it and he was pretty freaked out about it. I explained we all have bones inside of us and even showed him a couple of Youtube videos to ease his worries but afterwords he started talking about ghosts. He hasn't had much exposure to ghosts (just a bit on TV) but he is half Thai and they are pretty crazy about that kind of stuff so maybe he is getting it from his Mom. In any case I have asked him why the sounds of fireworks are scaring him so bad and he keeps repeating boom boom and pointing an imaginary gun at me. I think he died by a gun somewhere in his past because he has absolutely no experiences with any kinds of guns. He also has said some stuff about his sister and he doesn't have a sister.
  16. I voted all 6 but doubt there is going to be vet QB of any significance. Do we pick up the next Orton? I don't want Cutler (and never did, I did want Orton in the past, I admit it), can't see that ending well. Eli if he was available SURE! but I am pretty sure that isn't happening. Bradford, IDK, health seems to be an issue........nothing else seems palatable. So I think we can afford all of them, Spikes being the only one I think will get maybe more money than we want to pay. So in a way, say 5 out of 6 with a crappy FA QB brought in for good measure (draft one 3-7th round too).
  17. He is right the blame does fall on him. That being said, he also has made some boneheaded coaching decisions this year, that I wouldn't put on Hackett. If there were a way to just fire Hackett without firing him and losing our DC, I would be in favor. If he is going to be protective of Hackett, one more year with improvements is all you get at most. I also hope Terry picks a good person to look over the organization, maybe that would help with the decisions, as well. I would like Hackett gone and almost would like HCDM gone too, but I am not as sure about that. Give him a 3rd year and see if he Chan's it, if he does we know he is not the answer. Right now, I really like DCJS and would rather he was the coach. I hope he sticks with us and we have some consistency at least on that side of the ball. That D. It is the best thing this team has had in ages.
  18. BTW I totally want a night game, means not watching the game until 4am here but instead football with coffee :worthy:in the morning ! ! !
  19. From that link, In effect during Weeks 5-17 Up to 2 games may be flexed into Sunday Night between Weeks 5-10 Only Sunday afternoon games are subject to being moved into the Sunday night window. 20. I think he'll be fine but they have really bunched up that line as of late and it really doesn't help the line, I really can't see why they think it works. And yes they do set better picks but I thought Watkin's penalty was also a result of it, I am surprised we haven't gotten pick penaties this year. I hate the bunch philosophy. Yes, let's let them put 8 in the box because we have 7 there? Oh and then let's run up the middle! WTF? Chan had this part of the game right (sort of) the spread gives the O a numbers advantage by taking people out of the center of the field.
  21. Thanks Ice, you guys will step up again, good luck to you and the Pack. Wish we could combine our D with your O, that would be a team for the ages.
  22. I came looking for this thread, all I can say is Blue Rules!
