Maybin unlikely to show up at training camp
spartacus replied to Captain Quint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
a player that is not under contract can't be holding out there is nothing to hold out from He is simply an unsigned player- with the inability to market his services anywhere else -
Walmart is the evil empire all that cheap stuff they sell must be produced overseas so in addition to destroying the small local shops, Walmart is also destroying the industrial workforce in America.

that's right!! these guys should just be happy to be here. the Bills did them a big favor by drafting them at all. You can be the Bills feel they should be taking a discount to sign with the Bills, especially since the front office vacation is being disrupted to work on these contracts during the summer. -
Marv is desparate enough to jump at the chance to coach again
-
Turk probably gets promoted because Ralph will get him cheap with no one else looking to promote him
-
you are correct the fans are stuck with Dick for the duration of his contract get the random excuse generator cranked up
-
you may call it over-protection of rookies it is more likely another mistake in the draft room that will be covered up by not playing the guy to expose how bad he is.

No offense is overrated when they play the Bills The Dolphins are built to run the ball with Ronnie Brown, Rickie Williams and Patrick Cobbs. They upgrade their OL, especially at C. The Bills were shredded on the ground last year and did nothing to get bigger and more physical to stop the ground assault. laughable to assume the Fins are the ones going 7-9 when they are the defending division champs.

Buffalo listed as a franchise on the brink
spartacus replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
better yet take at look at the payroll since they signed the big deal. although they signed TO and Evans, they probably have a lower payroll after cutting loose Dockery and Peters Certainly there has been no big splurge on free agents to increase the talent level on the team - a lack of talent that Ralph himself blamed for Dicks 2-8 implosion last year. -
why would Goodell reduce the suspension with almost 2 months until the 1st game? With Lynch's history of being such an outstanding citizen, there is a good chance he has another incident before the season starts. Goodell already got burned by Lynch after cutting him a break after the hit and run. There is no chance Goodell reduces the suspension until right before the season. The only early decision will be if he denies the appeal all together.

ah- the "I was only kidding" defense good one

a big part of the problem with DICK's philosophy on overstocking the DBs is that he does not take advantage of the talent he has accumulated there. Why spend all the premium picks to get elite cover corners - and then play them 10 yards off the ball. 1. If he's so committed to the scheme - stop wasting elite picks on DBs whose talent is wasted. Instead - get DBs without press cover skills who can be obtained cheaply to play soft zones. OR 2. Since he has the DBs, he should be playing a pressing defense with his CBs which will actually give his undersized DL more time to pressure the QB and generate some turnovers. There is a huge disconnect between the players they obtain and how they will be used on the field.

Levitre has played as much T as Butler has. they both played in college and neither has played in the NFL. maybe he should get the shot at RT

The Redskins paid him $26 mil the very next day after he got cut by the Bills. maybe with a real OL coach Dockery will return to the high production level which got him his $50 million deal from the Bills just 2 years ago.

It Really Is A Win Win Scenario This Year For Buffalo
spartacus replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
your logic is faulty Dick has 3 years left on his contract and Ralph will not eat the money. It is clear that after going 2-8 and keeping his job, Dick has a free pass no matter what his record in 2009. and you think Ralph will pay a big name coach -ha ha -
and don't you ever ask why he played so soft in Buffalo? 2 years ago, he was so highly sought after to demand a $50 million contract he plays like crap in 2008 under an inept OL coach the very day after he is cut, his former team who is well versed in his talent, signs him for another $26 million contract. seems to me the OL coaching is what is turning out a a panzy OL product. The OL uses poor schemes and the OL has no identity. The players may be new in 2009, but who is going to instill the identity and schemes to make it work??? The Bills should have kept the players, drafted the rookies and brought in a real OL coach, instead of creating more holes than they could replace.

Sanders has a history of getting the most from d-line
spartacus replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
pretty sad, but losing in the playoffs would be a big step up for the Bills -
you have a short memory terrible is what the Bills have had on their OL for the last 15 years other than Peters and Ruben Brown. hopefully they get something better than terrible out of Walker at LT in 2009 you constantly quote the 13 sack number as proof of peters being "terrible" how many plays was Peters on the field for in 2008? at least 753?? out of the total 956 even assuming the 13 sacks is valid, that's 740 good to dominant plays that will not be duplicated by whoever plays LT in 2009.
-
what would have been really impressive was if they drafted the G & C AND kept Peters and Dockery AND got an OL coach that knew what he was doing. how the OL coach gets a free pass after getting very little prodution out of $50 million G is beyond me. Why no focus on the failed blocking schemes?/ and now the team is relying on this inept coach to mold 5 guys playing new positions into a dominant force?? OK

Do We Have a Better Team Now than at the End of 2008 ?
spartacus replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
from your list the Bills lost an elite LT in his prime and added a 35 yr old WR - who hopefully is more interested in playing football than starring in his own TV show. Hopefully Hangarten holds up at C but it is by no means a certainty than he can handle 3-4 nose tackles with rookies at each side. Carlina was so impressed with his inability to do just that they first spent a #2 on his replacement and then let him walk when his contract was up. Hopefully the rookies can learn new positions real quick because the rest of the additions don't improve the talent level from last year. -

they could beat the Pats and win the next 4 - and who will be confident Dick won't implode and go 2-9 down the stretch. -
The low interception number is heavily skewed. Trent has been brainwashed into protecting the football at all costs which results in a checkdown offense. Turk and Dick refuse to attack the endzone. They would rather try a field goal than let Trent risk a pick by throwing to the end zone. There is hope, however. On several occasions when there was no other option but to throw downfield, Trent has shown the ability to make good decisions and throw accurately. It's too bad his development is being stunted by clowns who are too scared of their own shadow to run an effective offense.

that was last year when the stars aligned for the Bills Dick could not handle it -
The '09 Bills will be the FIRST team...
spartacus replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it would help if the Bills front office knew that maybe they could get some of the top picks signed sometime soon -
you do realize that Peyton Manning ran play action off of the stretch play almost every play. Only in Buffalo is the play action pass a once in a lifetime occurence.
