Bills 2010 Draft... really terrible
spartacus replied to HeHateMe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and he still won more games than Gailey - every year he was here Buddy may have a better idea no what makes a good football player - but Chan is sure not converting that better talent into wins really remains to be seen if the Bills do have better talent - none of Buddy's draft picks are pushing for the Pro Bowl -

"Jauron couldn't win under any conditions" - yet Chan has yet to match even a mediocre 7 win season -

too bad all of the improved talent is not resulting in more wins than Dick was able to generate if the talent is there, it must be a regression in the coaching -
And the search for the Bills MLB begins
spartacus replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It might actually make more sense to get Shepp the 1st team reps since he is needs the work looks like Trent Edwards all over again - but at least it did not take 2 real games to figure it out -
Gailey's talent assessment???
spartacus replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yet - how is it that magic Dick was able to win 7 games each year with all of non-talent that Chan/Bix absolutely had to turnover -
selective memory the Bills started the season playing like crap and fell behind both Oakland and NE by multiple TDs sure they came back - but those early games point to the fact the bills started out the regular season, just like they played in the pre-season - like crap - unprepared, unmotivated, uninspired Chan is out of excuses - no playoffs and he should be canned

One thing worth noting from tonight's scrimmage
spartacus replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
good to see the coaches feel no need to prepare for the season they will use the first 3-4 real games to work out the kinks of running real plays and game planning while using pre-season for player evaluation - practice and film are just too hard to use to see if a player has any skills -
Norwood's consistent range was only 40 yards that's why the 47 yarder was such an adventure for him then you have Cristie kicking them from 59

probably the same satellite that filmed Neil Armstrong stepping on the Moon.

yeah-Ralph tried It was horrible luck that it turned out the marketing guy did not know schitt about building a football team -
The county actually had to pay for land and signficant costs for teh Lancaster stadium project that crashed and burned you can bete someone made money on that deal

sounds like he sees the end of his career if he stays clean - so he is probably getting that chemical enhancement that was so important early in his career With the NFLPA stonewalling the NFL on blood testing - any HGH use by Merriman will probably go undetected the "knowledge" he picked up was the failure to institute testing tyht could catch HGH use l -
Vilma is opening Pandora's box of more concern to him should be what criminal claims an aggressive prosecutor will raise based on all that evidence that will be come public Vilma is a pawn of the NFLPA and may end doing jail time for his involvement

I thought we were going to get a big WR...
spartacus replied to Toshiero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sending him deep is useless as Fitz can't throw deep accurately more likely is he gets a ton of bubble screens and short passes that he can make something happen after the catch -
Bills defensive changes since 2010...WOW
spartacus replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
convenienlty ignored is that the reason for the huge turnover in roster is that Chan and Buddy gutted the 4-3 defense we had before that 2010 season and brought in a unch of scrubs to play a 3-4. In retrospect, that was probably the Bills cover for tanking the season to get Cam - but Luck killed them by not coming out -
This is the end of the draft trade value chart debate.
spartacus replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
with the reduction of asinine contracts for the top 10 draft picks, the Jimmy Johnson trade value chart is again the proper measure of value -
pointless to bring in a drop back QB when we have no OTs to pass block his career will be ruined before it is started

the only one that matters

instead of endlessly whining about Pats.
spartacus replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The OL stats cover up how bad the OL really is they can not pass block which is why Fitz got those broken ribs and always has less than 3 seconds to throw They can not run block consistently - the run stats are padded by running from 5 wide sets to open run lanes and force more DBs on the field. Even this strategy was negated when defense swarmed the line and had no fear of any pass play over 10 yards/. and now the Bills are without Bell at LT and have an unknown in Wood's injury status -
which is why Casserly no longer works for an NFL in player evaluation

La Canfora/NFL Network Article Says....they all lie!

they ALL lie - doh what good is a "confimred" lie - by a lying GM? -
La Canfora/NFL Network Article Says....they all lie!
spartacus replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
uh- I thnk the point about "lying" would make a direct quote from any GM pretty much horsehockey as well. -
drafting is a crap shoot only if you are making your picks by throwing darts at your list of players it is much less of a crap shoot if you have good talent evaluators and a plan in place on what kind of players succeed in the NFL bad teams draft bad players - good teams not so much Teams would be wise to avoid the "consensus" on where players are ranked and just pick a player (no matter if considered a "reach") that fits their parameters of what makes a "good" player
-
I would agree Buddy made all of the really good picks - just like Dick Jauron made all of the really bad picks and totally ignored Buddy's stellar advice on Maybin. even the ones that look bad now that are blamed on Modrak, Buddy gets credit if they those players turn it around. maybe it was aliens, or Dick with mind altering abilities now if only the Bills will coat their war room in tin foil again this year to keep out htose pesky aliens, then we can expect another strong draft man- I don;t know what those aliens were thinking in convincing Buddy that Mabin was a real talent
