God won't forgive him until he sincerely asks God to forgive him. On the day he was released, there were many media hounds waiting for him to walk out and speak to them. He ended up sneaking out a back door into a waiting car that drove him 11 hours to his home without speaking to anyone. Doesn't sound like a man who spent time reading his Bible and was anxious to seek Gods' and everyones' forgiveness, does it? No, actually he appeared to be a man who just wanted to escape to his luxury home so he could enjoy his time out of the big house while hanging around his swimming pool the last two months wearing his ankle bracelet.

Last I checked, it's not a crime to swat a bee, step on an ant or eat turkey for Thanksgiving. But running a dog fighting ring on your own private property is quite illegal. So the question is not whether you want to bring in a "special player" that used to "fight dogs" in to play for the Bills. The question is do you want a convicted felon to play for the Bills? I happen to whole heartedly agree with our dog loving friend although I don't share his enthusiasm on the subject. No way. Let some other team use his "special" talents. As if any NFL sign him anyway.

Millions of people feel just as strongly or even stronger about dogs and animals in the USA, as you do. I am not convinced that any team in the NFL will sign Vick and then have to deal with the public relations nightmare that would accompany him.

Nagata, who was sitting there waiting to be drafted when Marv Levy made the "pick heard round the fooball world" (sorry, Rick Janaurett), Donte Whitner. I know, Whitner's not that bad, but he's not as good a safety as Nagata is a tackle, at least not yet anyway.

Listen Rocketship 7 fan, it's not that they sign expensive FA's or that they sign inexpensive rookies or young players, its' that they have kept signing the wrong O-linemen since around the time Kent Hull & John Davis retired, or so. I'm really hoping the signing of Hangartner & the drafting of Wood & Levitre will put and end to that ugly streak once and for all.

Outstanding points. Especially since this hack's title with the Tonawanda rag is "night editor." EDITOR! You think an editor of a paper, even one as meaningless as the Tonawanda whatever, would make sure his own damn article was at least acurate with the facts. Forget the fact that the moron is 100% wrong in his opinions. One of Owens' asisstants has already aluded to the fact that the slower pace of Buffalo, and these amazing fans, have got him thinking about playing here beyond this one year contract. Just think about what James Lofton brought to the Bills back in the day, when he came here almost exactly at the same point of his Hall of Fame career that Owens is at now.

For all the posters who say "Hardy is a bust"
VJ91 replied to commish95's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Number one, he needs to complete his rehab from surgery. Number two, learn how to run his patterns and read the defensive backs the way his playbook demands. Finally, become the red zone threat he was drafted for in the first place. He in certainly not a bust, and even if he doesn't get this all accomplished until the 2010 season, he will still be worth the draft choice. -
Fitzpatrick started 12 games for the punchless Bengals last year. He threw for 8 TD's, and ran for 2, so he scored 10 TD's, and only threw 9 Ints. He completed a fraction under 60% of his passes for almost 2,000 yrds, and had a respectable 70 rating. It seems to me that although those numbers are nothing to get excited about, they are good enough to feel that Ryan could take over the team for 2 - 4 games, lean on an improved running game, and keep the Bills on track.

First of all, both Bells are extremely young and raw. Demetrius has a year under his belt, but we all know that Joel's odds are about as long as the reach on his 6'8 frame. Despite some comments from some coaches on how Demetrius might compete for the RT spot, it's obvious Brad Butler will be the starter there this season. Unless either or both Bells do amazing thing during training camp and preseason, Demetrius should continue his slow improvement by possibly moving up the depth chart to first tackle off the bench this year. I still have my doubts that Joel will even make the 53 man roster. Joel should be a perfect practice squad player for '09.

Florio thinks the Bills will make a run at Vick
VJ91 replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In this case, the Bills would be selling the fans dog guts. And I don't think even the playoff starved fans of the Buffalo Bills would welcome Vick with open arms. People love dogs, and sometimes they love dogs more then other people. Vick may never play another down in the NFL, in my opinion. -
According to Trent, T.O. is our #1 WR
VJ91 replied to HurlyBurly51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good concept, but wrong. Every team has, or aspires to have, that number one premeier WR, earning the huge contract. Then, after they pay their number one guy, as soon as the number two gets numbers close to the number one, the number two threatens to hold out or demands to be traded for the number one guy's money. T.O. is way past worring about being the number one receiver earning the most money. He's starting his what, 13th or 14th season, and despite being in excellent shape with the skills to continue to score 10 TD's a year, even he knows he's too old to worry about Larry Fitzgerald contracts. So for Dilfer to call T.O. the Bills number one receiver, when Evans is already on the team earning the big bucks, it just proves how stupid Dilfer is. -
Who cares about TO. A Paladin is coming to town!
VJ91 replied to RockPile007's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, it looks like this kid may have a chance to make the team and even play a little, if he can keep that "bunson burner" flame going and stay healthy all through training camp. He certainly picked the right team to sign with, if he's another Jason Peters - like diamond in the rough, he'll have no problems sliding into the starting right tackle spot at least by next year, that's for sure!! -
I don't know. But I do know that he should be the happiest Buffalo Bill on the team for the upcoming season. If he can't have a career year with Owens lining up across from him then he is not the elite receiver, or Edwards is not the up and coming QB everyone says they are.

You should not waste your time listening to Trent Dilfer. I either mute him or change the channel when he's on. Schlereth is very good, however, and I always like hearing his takes. If Mark was agreeing with Dilfer, then he lowered his own standards just to build Dilfer up during that piece on the Bills. Plus Schlereth has always hated Owens, so he would not have been congratulating any team that took a chance on him. Which brings me back to Trent Dilfer. He is not well spoken, he is not not funny, he has no original... or if they are original, they are always wrong...takes. He is about as good an NFL anaylist as was an NFL QB. He sucks. Compare him to Jaws. Jaws spends countless hours studying QB and offensive film, and then giving us his educated opinions about what he's talking about. Dilfer might take a few minutes to wax his head with makeup before each appearance, and then he just blabbers on and on as if he was calling out playes he was about to screw up in the huddle. Just give me the old days of Chris Berman and Tommy Jackson. I could listen to them for hours. -
You "say move" when you think the Bills should drop prices. How out of touch is that idea? Did you post it just to be funny? As if we have not had enough whining about the Bills taking a regular season game to Toronto on this board. Now why did they do that? Let's review here OK? They took a home game away from loyal Bills fans because they already don't earn enough money to compete in today's NFL. So here you are floating an idea for them to earn even less money. Now do you get it? If I have comprehension and expression issues, buddy, you have far worse issues dealing with reality as a Buffalo Bills fan in 2009.

Yeah, I mean, Marshawn never inhaled, right?? How unfair that horrible commissioner is. You can't even smoke a joint in the privacy of your own Mercedes on a public street in broad daylight with an unlicensed gun in the glove compartment less then a year after running over a stupid pedestrian with your SUV these days! How is a young stud athlete supposed to have any fun anymore playing in the "NoFunLeague."???

I'll let you know how nice it is after Langston Walker makes his first Pro Bowl this season and Peters doesn't make his third in a row. (I wonder if this full time responsibility will motivate Langston to lose a pound or two off his immense gut?)
-
He suffered the groin pull straining himself throwing out that first pitch.

Great idea. That's exactly what the Bills should do. Wait, I know. Forget about just saving 20 bucks a game. Maybe you should try to get the Bills to move......every game to Toronto! Yeah, that's the ticket! (Pun intended.) Let's ask Wilson to move every home game up to Toronto, so then we would not have to pay anything to go to anymore Bills home games. What a terrific savings right there! Memo to "poor-minded" fans, the NFL doesn't care how poor Buffalo and Western NY is!

I would have already signed T.J. "WhosYourMama", Albert Hayensworth, Jason Peters and used the draft to take care of the LB void, if I were the Bills GM and had the money they did have under the cap, but that's just me. Only Ralph Wilson and Russ Brandon know where that money saved is going. Of course, spending all that crazy money may have fit under the "cap", but Ralph would have had to come up with some serious signing bonus cash, and of course we are still in small market Buffalo, after all!

Best post on this subject, hands down! In my humble opinion, RJ gets the nod as the better more talented bust. Of course the jury is still out on JP, since he's still young and doesn't even know where his next NFL stop will be. RJ played some damn good football games for both Jacksonville and Buffalo, and Lost-man played one great game, against the Bengals when he actually threw for some decent yards. RJ played one really good playoff game on the road against an excellent Titans defense, and actually drove the Bills down for the winning field goal, if not for the worst special teams break down on a kick off in NFL history.

2003 season home opener: Bills 31, Patriots 0.
VJ91 replied to Hossage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now that is hillarious. The only good thing that came out of that one great game the Bills have played against the Belicheck Patriots still works in their favor. Belicheck keeps dregging the memory of that game up during the Pats at Bills week every year to use as extra motivation for his troops - as if they need it. You want to talk about an unforgettable experience at the Ralph? I prefer to talk about the Raiders AFC Championship blow out and being there to see the Bills celebrate their first trip to the Super Bowl. "Our fans and our Bills lived through each other that day, and a hard working city got its manful (what?) reward." -
How good were the 1990's Bills?
VJ91 replied to FightinIrishBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As talented as they were, with members of those teams becoming Hall of Famers almost annually, your friend is sadly correct. They have one distinction that I think will never be matched, much like Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak. I don't believe any NFL team will ever play in four consecutive Super Bowls, now that total free agency and salary caps have become normal life in the NFL. During their 4 year streak, free agency and the salary cap were just beginning, and the Bills were still able to keep all or almost all of their stars together. However, I agree with your friend. Just like those horrible Denver Broncos teams in the 80's, that always got past the Cleveland Browns in the AFC Championship games, and then went on to bet blown out in the SB's against the Giants, Redskins and 49ers. The Bills and their No-Huddle offense and bend - but - don't break lighting fast defense were able to rule during the regular season and AFC playoffs. But that style was never good enough to win the SB's against the more traditionally bigger, stronger and in the Cowboy's case, just as lighting fast, NFC teams. You missed cheering for one of the most explosive, and talented group of teams in NFL history by being too young to enjoy the Bills of the mid 80's to mid 90's. But you did not miss cheering for a dynasty deserving of being mentioned with the 49ers, Steelers or Cowboys - those teams all won Super Bowls. -
It's a rare chance for Buffalo to get mentioned on VH1!!! Come on, you can't be defensive and sensitive about every negative thing said about our fair city, and then at the same time mock the mayor for using a publicity stunt to bring in some positive spin. For some reason, VH1 thinks this stupid T.O reality show will work for it's young demographic audience. Why? I have no idea. But since they think it will work, someone in the mayor's office did some quick thinking of their own, and will now have this "presentation" at City Hall filmed for all of VH1 nation to watch. I think it's marketing genius, and I applaud them for it.
