  1. LOL.....WUT!? Been here 22 years now. Basically everything you wrote is a crock of cow dung. Love the "no beach" claim. I'm literally LMAO.
  2. I just found out on Reddit that the new anchor of the CBS Evening News.....Jeff Glor, who did the story tonight.....is from Buffalo. I guess he grew up in Tonawanda and went to Kenmore East. At the end of the broadcast tonight, he said, "Let's Go Buffalo." Looks like he's stepping into the shoes of Tim Russert!
  3. Are you sure about that? I thought all the visiting pro teams and major college teams stay out at the hotel at Sawgrass CC (Marriot, IIRC). I know for sure that FL & GA stay out there every year at the end of October for their game at Everbank, as I've been stopped by cops on a few occasions (including this past October) so that their motorcade of police-escorted buses could roll through.
  4. TT is a better runner/scrambler for sure, but I'd say that there's no doubt that AD is a better passer.
  5. Agree. Also, in the story on the CBS Evening News tonight, he made a point to say that it was sort of surprising because "we beat them earlier this year." LOL
  6. Be honest, the Bills are in the playoffs because of a great play by Cincinnati, and a terrible play by the ravens secondary. Some would even call it a miracle, as Andy Dalton is not known for his fourth-quarter comebacks.
  7. If he has a good game, stops the run up the middle, sacks TT a few times as he holds on to the ball forever, then Yes. If the Bills win and MD is not a factor, then No. LOL Doug Marrone is NOT a genius.
  8. Sort of, he's a golf course architect! If you come down for the game this weekend, and you don't mind the cold, you can go to a golf course in St. Augustine which he helped design, and play 18. The course bears his name....it is called "The King & The Bear"
  9. LOL....Everybody loves a winner, and now that they are winning, the stadium has been near capacity every week. Hell, they even pulled off the tarps to free up 3500 more seats! But to be honest, in my watching of a lot of games this year, I saw A LOT of empty seats in A LOT of NFL stadiums.
  10. No, not at all. Wing It is in an area of town known as Mandarin, which is almost directly south of downtown. It's about 14 miles directly south of the stadium, as the crow flies; 18 miles by road. ETA: OK, so the "new" location of Wing It is up near the airport, technically on the north side, but THAT LOCATION IS NOT THE ONE WE GO TO! Please NOTE this.
  11. Moved to Jax in 1995, the same year they got the Jags. Never forget the first time I went to a sports bar to watch a Bills/Phish game, and virtually no one in the bar had on any Phish swag, but when the Phish scored, virtually the whole bar started hooting & hollering and jumping up & down....and they were wearing Jags gear. LOL Yeah, they were still diehard Phish and/or Buccaneer fans. Ok, so like others have noted, it's going to be cold down here this week (highs on Fri & Sat only in the 40s/Sunday high of 60, tailgating at 9 am will be around 40 degrees, 70 on Monday though if you're still here)...they're saying it's the coldest week here in about the last 10 years...so "normal" Florida things like going to the beach, playing golf, going out on a boat for pleasure and/or fishing....will be curtailed. Although Canadians (we get a TON of Canuck visitors down here) & Northeastern thick-skinners don't seem to be bothered by the cold temps. We spent last Saturday & Sunday in an oceanfront hotel in Daytona Beach, and the temps were in the 50s, and there was still some people in their skimpy bathing suits going in the pools & in the ocean.....LOL Like some others have noted, if you've never been to St. Augustine, it's an interesting place to visit. If any of you saw the special on Spanish history last week on PBS, you'd know that St. Augustine is one of the most historic cities in this country, and many historians think that the first Thanksgiving was there, and not in VA. Be advised though that the place has become very popular, and is usually crowded/congested EVERY weekend of the year now. If you're up for it, climbing up to the top of the lighthouse is worthwhile. Just an an FYI, the Alligator Farm is basically across the street from the lighthouse. St. Augustine beach is fun to visit (we spent our Honeymoon there), but again, it's going to be cold. The Sunset Grille is a very good place to eat in SA Beach. Not too far up the road from the lighthouse is the Conch House, it's right on the water (also a marina there), and is also a good place to eat (kinda pricey though). As mentioned by someone else, walking up & down St. George Street is required if you do go to SA (it's pedestrians only) The Landing in downtown Jax has never really become what they have envisioned, but if you're down there, you might as well check it out. A single friend told me that some of the strip clubs are full nudity (no alcohol served) and some are partial nudity (alcohol served). He said that The Doll House on Philips Hwy (about a mile north of where Butler Blvd dead ends into Philips Hwy) is one of the full nude places, and is enjoyable. ;-) There is a zoo-like place very near the airport called the Catty Shack Ranch. They have full-size lions, tigers, and other big cats. It's $10 to get in, and this week they are open: Thursday at 1pm, and both Friday & Saturday nights at 6pm for "Night time Feeding." I have been there a handful of times, and you get to see these animals at a closer range than you would in a regular zoo....just don't get them angry, not sure how strong the chain-link fences are. LOL Check out their website at cattyshack.org. The "bad" parts of Jax are the west side, and the north side, and the northwest side. I don't see any reason why any of you will be going to those areas of town, but who knows.
  12. This was my thought exactly. Just like the TD turnaround against NE, it's definitely NOT "clear and obvious" that he's touching the ball while he is out of bounds. They should have stayed with the ruling on the field; TD Buffalo.
  13. WTF!? Get real and take this crap to the Politics board.
  14. So when you're playing zone coverage, you don't move around in your "zone" to actually cover the receiver who comes within yards of your position in that zone? LOL Also, others in here are saying that Dan Fouts said they were in man coverage for the play. IN ANY CASE, the players on the field are 100% responsible for the failure to cover, and then, to TACKLE the guy!
  15. It looked like zone coverage to me on the winning TD. But still, there were about three Ravens very near Kroft who stood there with their thumbs up their a$$es. Lol
  16. It's just like in the movie "Ransom".....LOL
  17. Bye bye Baker.
  18. Aren't they though! LOL
  19. The above is correct. After watching it closely, it is clear that he did not move early, but rather everybody else moves a half second or so AFTER the ball is snapped. I'd assume that the latter is "normal" for all linemen, but occasionally (like here in this case), somebody moves exactly with the snap.
  20. Honestly, he's (Foreigner) right. You do realize that, right? There were definitely some very pathetic losses by the Bills this year in which coaching decisions played a contributing factor.
  21. I agree. From what I saw in HD was that the ball was definitely not firmly in his grasp BEFORE it hit the ground and popped up. IOW, the ball was coming loose before it hit the ground AND before the guy was down. It should have been a fumble/TD return for the Bills. Same old, same old on the call going against the Bills.
  22. The Raven fans are blaming the defensive coordinator for that TD pass!? GTFO of here and give me a break. THE PLAYERS in the Raven's secondary are wholly and totally responsible for s**tty coverage on the play. As I've said many times, most NFL players are not that smart. The latter was on full display (by the Raven's defense) on that TD pass.
  23. The George Michael Sports Machine was still on the air, blasting out the pertinent sports highlights every Sunday night!
  24. What's ironic is that both Buffalo and Cincinnati have at one time or another been known as the "Queen City."
