  1. Hey thanks for chiming in a total nonsensical way. MY comparison was between Buffalo and Jacksonville. Anybody with an IQ over 30 would choose Jacksonville all day, every day, if given the choice. Unless, of course, they couldn't bear to leave WNY because of their need to be close to Bills.
  2. Lived in PVB for nine years, and am now in Atlantic Beach. Sure there are a few spots around Jax, just like in any other city, that are rough, but labeling the whole area a hellhole is just plain asinine and fallacious.
  3. You may be interested in this msg, from another thread, posted right here in this forum.....sounds like a great place to watch a game! Also, in November & December, on a Sunday afternoon, you really think that Buffalo & Jacksonville are equal in possible outdoor activities.....really!? Umm.....OK.
  4. Ha! Since 2004, I've been hangin' with my family and/or riding my '99 Honda Valkrie or my '07 Yamaha FZ1 (a couple months ago, I upgraded from my '03 FZ1) on most Sundays. Occasionally, I'll meet up with my sister & bro-in-law and take in a Bills game at a sports bar though. And I might try to go see the game here in Jax when the Bills come in Nov....shouldn't be too hard to get a ticket. lol
  5. +1. Saw that same story on Yahoo's front page a few days ago, and I had NO sympathy for the bankrupt "stars" who have squandered away their millions. You can't fix stupid.
  6. Right now, at work, on a ship off the coast of Nags Head, NC, all caught up with my duties, so yeah, I can waste time here because I'm stuck here! lol But if you look at my msg post total, you might agree that I don't waste a lot of time here. I am, and will always be a Bills fan (still got the THREE pair of Zubaz pants in the closet, although my wife won't let me wear them out in public...lol). Of course I root for the Bills over the Jags. And that 14-2 year was pretty cool to see, and so was having the SB here in '05.
  7. If Jax loses the Jags, so what? We'll still have the great weather, the beaches, and the low taxes. First, a little background.....born in 1960, and grew up in WNY in the southtowns. Of course was brought up to love the Bills and saw a few games at the Rockpile, and many games at Rich. Moved away in '78 to go to college and never came back (well, I've come back for yearly visits). Been here in Jax since 1995, coincidentally the Jags first year. Of course the town was/is full of Dolfish fans, and even more Gator & Seminole fans. You may recall that the Jags had some phenomenal early success under Coughlin, but blew a 14-2 season with a loss to the Titans in the AFC Champ game (in Jax too). A large segment of the crowd has always been known as the "wine & cheese" crowd who really don't give a rat's a$$ about the game, then there's the "blue-collar" grunts......nbot sure who's causing the low turn-outs, prolly a combo of both. Personally, of course I remained true to the Bills, and in the 90s and the early 2000s I was the biggest fan out there (had NFL ticket at home for many years). Then in about 2004 I had an epiphany and realized how much of my life I was wasting sitting in front of a TV watching football....and not just Bills games, but LOTS of other games too. Surely the Bills' dismal play had me frustrated and disappointed so often, that it made my decision easier to go "cold turkey" and spend my Sundays out actually doing things and enjoying my life. OK, so what does all of the above have to do with anything? lol I think that a lot of people are coming to the same conclusion I did back in 2004. And with the woeful economy and ever-rising costs to go to a game, it makes it much easier. Certainly here in FL (even in the winter) there are PLENTY of "fun" things to do on Sunday instead of spending 3-9 hours watching football! Oh btw, I'm glad I grew up in WNY and am proud of that, but IMHO, the quality of life available here in FL is far beyond what can be had up there. I'm not saying I'm not a "fan" anymore, not at all. Just saying that I'm nowhere near the level I used to be, and there are many factors that caused it. For many people, the cost and hassle of going to a game just isn't worth it.
  8. Hey now, I was there at TPC Sawgrass one year when Rocco took a NINE on 17 to totally blow himself out of contention. It was sort of fun to see though. As for the Bills, I agree that good coaching would have had LM put a knee down in the EZ before that fumble, for sure.
  9. Disagree. It will stop.....someday, but you will be long gone and six feet under, just like me.
  10. I had a glimmer of hope tonight, but sadly, it seems that they are the "same old Bills."
  11. Do they call Holding anymore!? On both the Dallas KO return for TD, and the Philly TD (just scored on the short pass), blatant holding (grabbing a handful of jersey) was evident. WTF!?
  12. Unless you've got a crystal ball which can see into the future, as with EVERY year, only time will tell the real story. Oh, and as they say, "that's why they play the games!' lol
  13. Just reviewed the tape regarding Hagans being offsides on the "non-holding" Seattle TD....there were actually TWO Steelers moving before the snap (and thus they were in the neutral zone), the nosegard was moving too! Nice job, boys!
  14. Quick point about Ben's below the waist block on the end-around TD pass....that WAS a legal block. The rule that the zebras used (erroneously) on the Hasselback tackle applies on a change of possesion situation only (kickoff, punt, int, & fumble). To add to the chorus though, I also think that the Hawks got seriously jobbed. I see Holding and Pass Interference calls as the most inconsistent, most damaging calls in EVERY game. the league really needs to do something about these two infractions.
  15. Totally agree with Red Dragon.....the poor officiating, which affected the game, cemented it for me.
  16. I say keep Brees, unless of course he tries to break the bank.
