  1. I'd take a flyer on Roosevelt Colvin as a 3rd down pass-rushing specialist. Over Corto.
  2. I was thinking he was a LB I looked at the roster and saw him listed as a S. But I figured they would have changed it on the roster. So it makes sense now. Although keeping Murphy and not IR'ing him is still odd, unless my theory is correct.
  3. So the breakdown is thus: QB-3 RB-3 FB-1 WR-6 TE-3 OL-9 (including the injured Murphy but excluding the absent Peters) DE-6 (including LS Ryan Neill) DT-4 LB-5 CB-5 S-6 K-1 P-1 I thought they'd keep 6 LB's and 4 or 5 safeties. I also don't understand not putting Murphy on IR Murphy, except that they expect Peters to report and didn't want to save a roster spot for someone who would end-up getting cut a few days later and be disappointed.
  4. The guy on the bubble is Will James. All I could find about his contract was from Clump, and he's making just $750K this year and apparently got no signing bonus. However what may happen is that the Bills could keep 6 DB's and maybe go with 6 LB's (putting Buggs or Costanza on the PS), and look to trade James.
  5. I didn't want Williams or McKinnie. I wanted them to trade back and take Levi Jones. Similarly, I wanted them to trade back in 1997 and take Corey Dillon instead of Antowain Smith.
  6. I'd be more critical if they picked someone unusual. Guys like Blair Thomas, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Vernon Gholston, etc. were guys who were top prospects. But yes, you'd think they would have hit on more players over the years.
  7. The draft is a crapshoot. See (OT) Mike Williams.
  8. For Schobel's first deal, he made $2.8M for the first 3 years. For his 2nd deal, he made $13.5M for 3 years. Then he got his big deal in his 7th year. For the first 3 years of Peters' career, he made $3.71M, and last year made $4.55M. He should made $4.55M again this year.
  9. Can't put him on the PUP. It's either active roster, IR, or (no way) cut him.
  10. And Hasselbeck hasn't played all pre-season.
  11. Most players brought in this late would be behind the 8-ball in terms of learning the schemes.
  12. Yep. And with Trent possibly becoming a good QB for them, his big payday will be coming-up as well. Giving into Peters just tells Edwards' agent to pull the same tactic.
  13. LOL! No way Corner and Ellis don't make the 53-man roster. What is Sal smoking?
  14. More grist for the rumor mill: Peters is now the starter at LT on the BB.com depth chart, whereas before he wasn't on it.
  15. Yeah, that's actually pretty good.
  16. Not eligible. And he'll probably be signed by another team.
  17. If you're basing this off-of the Chefs game, realize that the Chefs will be drafting first overall next year. They have a couple good players in Larry Johnson and Tony Gonzalez, and some promising guys in Glenn Dorsey and Brandon Albert (neither of whom has shown much so far, although in Albert's case, it's because he's been injured all of pre-season), but they have little else. That being said, the Fins should be improved over last year. To the tune of 5-11. If Pennington goes down, the season is over.
  18. Jesse Chatman, RB, signed by Jets and just released. He torched the Bills last year while with the Fins. Of course he'd take Omon's spot and you risk losing him trying to sneak him onto the PS. But a curious move for the Jets. Thomas Jones looks done, they have no one else, and the Jets' O-line still looks suspect.
  19. What do these go for?
  20. Now that we've got that cleared up, it's a good thing that the Vikes have a starting-caliber LT on their roster just waiting to step-in for McKinnie.
  21. Actually, asking "how many igloos..." would have been really bad.
  22. To me it's six of one, half a dozen of another. And while it may appear they made a good move getting something in trade for McCown, remember that they gave him a $2.5M signing bonus.
  23. Nope. If he returns, they either have to take him back or cut him. They don't have to play him, although by that time, he'll lose-out on the $1M bonus for starting half the season at LT, so it would be moot.
