K-Gun10
Kollar reportedly leaving to coach Texans By Chris Brown - Posted January 20th, 2009 The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Bills defensive line coach Bill Kollar is leaving Buffalo to coach the Texans. Kollar was the second candidate interviewed for the position. The first was former Lions head coach Rod Marinelli. Several members of Houston’s defensive staff were let go at season’s end. The Bills have not yet confirmed the move, but if accurate it appears to be a lateral move, which would mean the Bills let Kollar leave. Kollar is the second assistant to depart from Jauron’s original staff, joining former offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild, who left to be the head coach at Colorado State following the 2007 season. DPR4444
http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/554814.html by Mark Gaughan NEWS SPORTS REPORTER The Buffalo Bills have allowed defensive line coach Bill Kollar leave for the Houston Texans, according to a league source. Kollar coached defensive linemen for the past three years under head coach Dick Jauron. He was still under contract with the Bills, who could have blocked his move to another team. Kollar, 56, has coached in the NFL for 20 seasons. In his most recent stints before coming to Buffalo, he coached five years with the St. Louis Rams and 11 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Kollar will replace Texans coach Jethro Franklin, who left to take an assistant's position with the University of Southern California. mgaughan@buffnews.com

BuffaloPride
If mediocre assistants don't want to be here, where the hell does that leave us ? The ship is sinking fast. Does anyone still believe we will land a top notch free agent?

Beerball
Anderson reportedly interviewing with BillsBy Chris Brown - Posted January 20th, 2009 The Buffalo News is reporting that former Bills defensive lineman Tim Anderson is in line to replace departed line coach Bill Kollar. Well, it could be worse.
Captain Quint
I guess you don't consider Peppers and Suggs top notch. Actually, neither are probably going to be free agents. Both will most likely be franchised, whether they like it or not. As far as this move by the Bills, I can't see the harm, seeing as our DLine is pitiful. The real question will be if the position is filled from within (typical fashion), or if Ralph & Dick will get someone with proven DLine success. It doesn't take a genius to see that the DLine is a glaring issue that needs fixed for us to be successful.
The Avenger
Wow - how bad do you have to be to have your top choices include a head coach that went 0-16 and a d-line coach whose unit racked up like 8 sacks all season?
