Steve Fairchild...

What happened to the guy that ran our stagnant, boring offense last year? His Rams put up 40 points, almost 300 yards on the ground and close to 600 total yards. Is it really just a lack of talent on our team, like Ralph said after the Miami game?

What was the biggest reason for our stagnant offense last year in Buffalo? JP Losman. At least Trent had an excuse being a rookie.

College is a different game. No use in wasting time comparing. Fairchild sucked as an OC in the NFL.

Fairchild's always been a great organizer and planner, which is what a head coach needs to be.

In Colorado, his OC calls the plays and he doesn't face NFL defenses.

The evidence is all starting to point to Jauron as the problem.

Fairchild is the head coach for the Rams. My guess is that he hired a real OC with a logical brain, who tells Fairchild to shut up when Steve wants his QB to throw a pass to the fullback in the flat on 3rd and inches on the goal line. OC's do have jobs in college football you know. And as for your last question, the answer is hell yes, the Bills have a lack of talent. :wallbash:

All over the map, eh?

It's more likely that Fairchild, being the head coach, doesn't have to wear handcuffs when putting together his gameplan any longer.

So by that you mean that conservative head coach DJ stopped genius Fairchild from puting together creative game plans in Buffalo? That doesn't make sense to me. Didn't Colorado State grind out almost 300 yards on the ground against Frenso State yesterday? Can't get much more conservative then that. And wasn't it DJ this season that called up to Turk telling him to run that risky play action pass on second and five last week when all he needed was two first downs on the ground to win the game? Can't get more "creative" (or stupid) then that.

Well, if you think a rollout and 4 inch pass to the fullback is the epitome of aggressive and innovative play calling, so be it.

The combination of DJ not being able to select decent coordinators and fact that Buffalo's offense has looked remarkably inept as SF's two season does point to DJ being the real problem.

Offensively, DJ's teams are routinely low-scoring. IMO, that demonstrates his lack of focus on that side of ball and his belief in keeping things close by being ultra conservative.

In researching DJ's teams, they've scored 2248 points in 126 games for an average of 17.8 ppg. They allowed 2595 points in those contests for an average of 20.6. His teams have been out-scored by 347 points, and it's no wonder he's 56-75 career. These figures did not include his 5 games as interim HC in Detroit.
