Wake up Buffalo to a great sports story

For all the heartache the Sabres and Bills give us, I hope Buffalo sports fans realize they have one of the most incredible sports teams in history at UB. 4 years ago they were a joke. Worst college football team hands down. Fast forward to 2008: 4 wins on the last play of the game. Clinch the MAC championship game and a bowl by coming back from 21-0 down the 3rd Quarter. The Bills may not make the playoffs but I hope everyone gets psyched for the little college football team that could...YOURRRRRR UB BUUUUUUULLLLLSSSSS!!!

Prome, why did you start this thread, when you have another one talking about the same thing?

Why are you on a Bills board when you aren't even from WNY, CNY, or S. ONT? (I do know the answer, no need to explain)

:rolleyes::D

That is why I would kill for a Stanley Cup over a Super Bowl (I'd take either? )... The Sabres are truly more regional... How many Sabres fans grew up outside the region... Even when the Sabres had a little bit of attention nationally?

The NFL makes puke sometimes...

Because he's that damn excited...and I'm right there with him!

I might start another thread of my own in fact.

Damn right!

:D

At least we have something to celebrate... We might have Bills fans from all over (most from their glory years)... But, it is nice to be with people that can relate and share a connection.

This isn't a slam at the Bills fans that were raised in other areas and actually get that connection... Sorry!

Son of a B word, I forgot about the game. Probably wasn't on any of my streaming sites, anyway.

That is great news! What is it with this team and OT?

At least nothing will be taken away from the Bulls tommorrow in the News...

Way to go Bulls!

Wow. Congrats to the UB Bulls. It is an amazing story.

First bowl birth...Hawaii or Detroit? We'll see.

I've heard rumor of the International Bowl in Toronto.

Of course, any bowl bid is a good one for UB, but Toronto would be great for the fans...and Hawaii would be great for the team.

Seriously though, if you operate under the assumption that the Bills-Toronto connection is primarily to market the Bills to Toronto fans (and for extra $$ in Ralph's pocket, of course) and designed to keep the Bills in Buffalo, a UB game in Toronto can only help that cause, IMO.

I hope some of you will go to the last UB home game T-giving Friday at 2pm vs Kent State. (Game will be on TWCS 13 & 26) I can't make that game unfortunately, but if UB gets either the Motor City (Detroit) or International Bowl (Toronto) I'm there with bells on.

I've heard rumor of the International Bowl in Toronto.

According to the MAC website:

The Bulls are also guaranteed a berth in one of the three bowl games that have MAC tie ins - the Motor City Bowl, the GMAC Bowl and the International Bowl. It will be the Bulls first bowl as an FBS (I-A) member since joining the MAC in 1999.

Looks like the Hawii bowl is not an optionl...

UB MAC East Championship shirts on sale here...

Looks like the MAC Championship game tickets, Dec. 5th @ Ford Field, will be available Wednesday..

As I understand it, the Hawaii Bowl is an option, but not a guaranteed option. They would be a replacement team for an unavailable Pac 10 team. See here:

Here's a prediction I have yet to see:

But, I think that is simply a mistake.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. I think they would have to get an invite for the Hawaii Bowl or something. I guess it's just more likely they will be in on of the other 3 bowls...
