HardyBoy Posted August 29, 2008 Share Posted August 29, 2008 McCain, more of the same....blah blah blah. Running on the platform of "Vote for me, 'cause I'm not the other guy" is meaningless to me. Same old same old. Dems can claim they are totally different and promise the world. They come up with a few catchy slogans, have a family reunion on stage, and that's supposed to translate into a good president? It makes no difference. Obama hasn't done one thing that is noteworthy, and has no credentials beyond being a good bullsh*tter and telling people what they want to hear. I don't trust the guy, and am convinced he will say ANYTHING to get votes, and doesn't have any opinions of his own. As far as i can tell there is no substance to all his promises. The devil is in the details, and I have yet to hear one detail that makes any sense. Most of his promises sound empty and unrealistic to me, and pretty much impossible to accomplish without creating a socialist society. If I wanted 70% income tax and a country where there is no motivation or reward for hard work, I would move to Sweden, live off the Gov't, and be mediocre. Honestly, I don't know that it matters who gets elected. Nothing in Washington EVER changes. It is and will continue to be the same old krap. I don't know much about Mccain, but I vote for him because "he's not the other guy". I vote for McCain because my taxes will go up if Obama wins. I vote for McCain becuase I don't believe in or trust the Obama hype that the Dems have used to make him seem larger than life with smoke and mirrors. It is all hype. He was elected President of Harvard Law Review = very very smart. You can disagree with his policies but I think that he has strong convictions. You don't get elected as president of Harvard Law Review and go into public policy unless you have strong convictions. He could have gone to Washington right away...he didn't. He seems like someone who would listen to an argument, and make up his mind based on the argument and his convictions. I would much rather have someone with strong convictions that I don't fully agree with (to an extent of course) than someone who is a figure head and is pushed through by the machine. I watched very little of the Obama speech last night...I really was too entranced in the Oregon State-Stanford game, which was a nice game to help kick off the college football season. Stanford won, 36-28. I figured Obama's speech would largely be more of what he's already said. He's one of the best speakers I've ever heard. I admit he would make one heck of a preacher. The problem I have is, were there any real solutions in the speech? Not from what I've heard. It was a speech to fire up the base and make 84,000 people cheer for him. And there's one fact that has not been mentioned here about who may really be behind Obama's meteoric rise to the Democratic nomination: Oprah Winfrey. Think I'm kidding? Obama was schooled in a Muslim school as a boy, and he did not put his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance. There are pictures to this effect. And trust me, I'm no friend of John McCain either. Ummm...Actually one of them is sort of true. He did attend a muslim school as a boy but if you believe that picture of him not putting his hand over his heart during the "pledge" then you have done no research for yourself on the subject. Hell, the only reason I became a Republican when I was old enough to vote is because democrat-led politicians destroyed cities like Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse. On another note, I'm sick of the media telling me how bad America has become over the past eight years because it's still the greatest place in the world to live in. The National Anthem becomes the Pledge because the outrage makes sense that way since most people don't put their hands over their hearts for the Nat'l Anthem. People really don't seem to get that those manufactured lies are just meant to fool people and get them to vote without thinking. As Obama said yesterday, to make a big election about little things. As for the Muslim school, those are the schools that are available in Indonesia and the only schooling realistically available for a 6 or 7 year old living in Indonesia with his mom and stepdad without a ton of money to send him to American style prep schools in the big cities. Mccain has never shown himself to be off the wagon and crazy i feel like he would be a safe choice. Something about a man that REFUSES to say the pledge of allegiance and schooled in muslim schooling makes me a little nervous, thats just me.
