Speaking of healthcare

Disgusted is more like it, that people can't find anything better to do than to make an issue over appearance.  They can't make a compelling case for their cause so they attack someone for being fat, or short, or tall...and on it goes.

That you don't see anything wrong with judging and condemning people based on their appearance surprises me not at all.

I don't think that was the point...The point was was it ok for kerry and edwards to bring the cheany's daughter into the campaign for an issue on gay marriage. If it was then it should be ok to bring edwards wife in for healthcare issues.

Michael Moore started it. If that fat, disgusting pig didn't stick his disgusting mug in front of every camera that will photograph him, we probably wouldn't have a good idea of how fat and disgusting people can get. We look at Michael Moore and think "Holy crap...I hope that doesn't happen to our women!"

Where did I say I didn't see anything wrong with that. You have a wonderful ability to read peoples minds.......unfortunately you're often times wrong, which makes you look pretty silly. The trait of an angry person. The point, and the ONLY point of my post that you quoted.

CHENEY HIMSELF brought his daughter into it last summer! If you bother to read this story, it's in there. He says

"Lynne and I have a gay daughter, so it's an issue that our family is very familiar with. . . . With respect to the question of relationships, my general view is that freedom means freedom for everyone. People . . . ought to be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to."

How about that. I'm right, you're wrong. I'm not angry, CJ's just uninformed. And so on.

Once Cheney made it part of his platform, it was fair game. And that's the way it goes. He politicized it himself.

Would it have been ok for Bush to point out during his tenure obesity is now a disease and may be covered by Medicare and say now people like the VP candidates wife can now get help with gov't assistance.  Would that cross a line?

Is the President trying to ammend the constitution so fat people do not have the same rights as skinny people? Not even in the same ball park chief. Go home and think a little harder next time you are on the crapper.

Everyone has the same rights now...Gay people have the same rights as straight people...It may take you some time but think about it...A gay man can marry a woman so can a straight one. A gay guy can't marry a man neither can a straight one...It looks like they have the same rights...

Really? Can any adult marry another adult of their choosing?

It looks to me like most people pay only lip service to "freedom" for other people.

I didn't say that...What I said was right now everyone has the SAME rights...But if you ask the question should people of the same sex be able to marry, sure it doesn't really matter to me.

I absolutely believe that gays should be able to have the exact same right to marriage as heterosexuals. There is no question about it.

However, when that time arrives...and I believe it will come in my lifetime...I certainly hope they realize that if they are allowed the rights of the married, they are also held to the rights of the divorced.

It all sounds good until you immediately surrender half of everything you own simply for getting married.

Why does it bother people that Lynn Cheney is gay? What is the big deal?

Seems like it is bothering people on the right?

Why?

Get real, accept it.

It is not a slight. Let people live their lives they way they see fit.

And YES, it would have been okay for Bush to bring up the weight thing.

Who cares... Let it all fly.

What is with you people and having to say the right thing?

PC?

I think this is your best posting on this board.

Believe me, they will be just as sorry as hell.

There already is a gay divorce case in the court system - two women. I don't recall all the particulars in terms of which state, etc. but there was a 20-minute piece about it on NPR around the time the San Francisco gay marriage hubbub was taking place. If you're interested you can probably find it in their archives.

As I've stated before, they really need to watch out what they wish for - because they just might get it.

The ONLY people who benefit from marriage are the divorce lawyers. The government should stay out of business between adults. People should be allowed to have whoever they want in their hospital rooms and on their medical insurance.
