Nick Saban story...

SDS

Recommended Posts

Listening to Tony Kornheiser on the way home today, I heard Dan LeBatard speak about all things Miami.

Saban has issued an order that NO ONE say hi to him in the office. A memo was issued to all employees not to greet or talk to the coach.

Somebody send a couple of large marbles to 'Captain Quig'.Saban is definitely missing a few.

I wish he were our coach.

Not me. One of the greatest things about being a Bills fan is that we have always had many more reasons to respect our team than we've had otherwise. I'm a much more enthusiastic fan when the people associated with my team are people I can truly respect. Saban sounds like a complete jerkoff.....Miami is the perfect place for him.

Dan also stated that JJ lost his interest in coaching when he looked down into his mother's casket and wondered WTF he was doing with his life.

I'd like to know more about that, actually. When I heard the story about how JJ just up and left his wife and family when he got the Cowboys job, I was absolutely friggin disgusted. I don't have any respect for a man (or woman, for that matter) who just abandons his family. If the passing of his wife had some sort of impact on him and woke him up a little to what really matters in life, I think that's a good thing.

Sounds like an urban legand to me. Of course, we all know sports radio talk show "information" is infallably true, so maybe I'm off base here.

Anyone imagine Saban shuffling through the halls at Dolphin Park muttering like Rain Man, "Circle 80, Z-formation Eagle. Yeah. Circle 80 Z-formation Eagle...."

I realize the life of an NFL coach is busy and that "Hellos" in the hall can sometimes lead to idle chit-chat when what he really needs to do is concentrate on his job, but there's a line b/w being busy and being an a--hole. It would be poetic justice if his hair catches on fire one day and no one says anything.

As a research guy, all I can say is, "Gotta match?"
