Wraith
Lost amid the chaos of today's events is the news that Alex Van Pelt has joined Turner Gill's staff at UB as Quarterback's Coach and "Passing Game Coordinator." This is a pretty interesting move. He's somewhat of a local hero and we've known about his coaching aspirations for a while. I will miss him in the booth with Murph next year though. BillsGuyInMalta
Here's hoping he takes over UB's program in a few years so we'll have a virtual Alex Van Pelt patrolling the sidelines in NCAA Football 2010. Nothing would be finer than the Doughboy on my PS3.

AVP was very entertaining. You want backbiting and self flagilation...come to TSW and live it up.
LabattBlue
I don't know if Turner Gill has hired a OC or DC yet, but I'm hoping AVP turns out to be a good hire. GO UB!!!

DCBongo
I would have rather had the Dough Boy for a season, then The Staute from New England.

ExiledInIllinois
My thinking all along was to pull him from the booth. Good for UB! Before Marv was coach, wasn't he in the booth with Van?

nick in* england
Van Pelt rocks... He's a great guy... Good luck Alex - Go Bulls! It was abvious that he was off - Murph and he were practically having a homo moment on air at the end of the Jets game... Hmm - so who do we get in the booth now? Burris? zow2
Way to go AVP! Great hire by UB. Turner Gill may get this team to a bowl game before it's all said and done. He's definitely going to be able to recruit some guys with his name and guys like AVP on his staff.
