Teams have all year to plan for the draft and near 2 months to gauge interest in trades once the draft position is finalized. Eh, first round is the money round and sometimes you want a little time to make some phone calls and check on handshake trade deals with teams depending on how the board falls after the first couple of picks come off the board. I think 5 minutes is too tight, especially in the first round where the moves you make are the most impactful, either good or bad. Quote
Brand J Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Pretty sure at one point it was 15 mins in the first round and 10 in the second which was ridiculous. Quote
Saint Doug Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago Considering every team has “draft boards”, the time they should have to select a pick should be about the same amount of time it takes to consummate a trade. I actually think the Bills do much, much better with their late round picks because they have less time to think they are outsmarting everyone else. Quote
Fleezoid Posted 49 minutes ago Posted 49 minutes ago Just do what Mel Kiper suggests. The 1st round would be done in less than an hour. Quote
