Just drop it to the 5 already.  Teams have all year to plan for the draft and near 2 months to gauge interest in trades once the draft position is finalized.

Anyway, it's a good change.  They didn't need fifteen and they don't need ten.  Eight should be enough (especially if Dick Van Patten is involved) to get it done, even if there is a trade.

I still say the most entertaining draft was the COVID year. Between a peek into the Vrabel home life, to drunken Roger in his totally real not staged basement man cave, to Bill Belichick's dog making the picks....what a time to be alive

The networks already get way behind as it is, giving them two fewer minutes between picks might make their heads explode.

I miss the days when the draft started at 11 am on a weekday.

 

I used to come down with a mysterious illness on those days and have to stay home from school.

They're extending time between picks in the second round to 20 minutes to compensate.
