Before being granted asylum, the law requires a security investigation. With an Aghani, that's not going to be perfunctory, like simply running fingerprints. So someone in the Trump administration, in Kristi Noem's DHS, certified that the background checks were complete and the case was ready to proceed to a grant of asylum. Fact. 1

Seems murky about what the Trump Admin could and couldn’t do. His request was approved before Trump could make changes to the program, and when he did.. he was blocked by a federal judge (which has become the liberal answer to slowing down his agenda)
