benderbender Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Good for him. Livers are hard to get. So much so that your liver function scores have to be atrocious just to be on the list. Many don't make it to transplant. God speed. Quote
GaryPinC Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Godspeed Bernie! I've yet to run into him, but I live between his farm and business location in Chagrin Falls. My son said hi to him at a local restaurant. Very friendly and gracious, though that's no surprise to anyone who had even a fan's exposure on TV. Always a class act, including while he played, so tragic his struggles with substance abuse but seems in a good place now. Quote

HurlyBurly51 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Wow, good for him, he's been through a lot. He was supposed to get a liver last week I think but something fell through. This one was successful, he's out and feeling good. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47001737/bernie-kosar-feeling-good-liver-transplant-surgery 2 Quote
hondo in seattle Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago As a little kid in the suburbs of Buffalo I was as much a Browns fan as a Bills fan. The first game I ever watched on TV was a Browns-Cowboys game with the Browns down by two scores. As a child of maybe 9, of course I rooted for the team getting stomped. And, sure enough, the Brownies came back to win. I was hooked on football and the Browns. I stayed a Browns fan until they moved the team out of the city in the middle of the night. But I remember Kosar well and appreciated the good Browns moments he created. It's a shame he ruined his liver with alcohol. Still, he's in my prayers. 1 Quote
