Why can't we get Moore or Samuel open more like we did against KC on that one play?  Both have the skills and speed to get open on those type of plays.

My take is this OC isn't calling their numbers or scheming those plays for them. What some of you simply don't get is that this OC is all about high percentage plays vs low percentage plays. This low percentage plays take longer to develop as they might include 5-7 step drop backs on deeper throws.

What we saw with the Falcons was a high amount of blitzing and the Chiefs attempted to do the same thing and because this time Allen was hitting those short outs and Cook was gaining good yardage on run plays... it didn't work. Josh was sacked 3x and hit 6 times and because the run game worked and the short pass game worked it opened up some mid to deep passes. Moore caught one for 28 yards and Knox caught one for 30 yards, Kincaid caught one for 47 yards.

I really don't get all the angst about finding a #1 WR considering the Chiefs have a top 10 defense and are 3rd in pass attempts allowed, 7th in pass yards allowed, 4th in passing TDs allowed.

Josh Allen tore them a new one 23 of 26 for 273 yards, 1 TD and an 83.8 QBR. Which by the way is the best QBR for him ever. 10 different receivers caught passes and that is literally insane...everybody ate!

And Bills fans who seem to think that this game didn't matter to the Chiefs are nuts as they wanted it just as bad as the Bills. Mahomes was contained and unable to run to make plays and he was hit 15 times. He also had the very worst QBR ever at 50.0. This game mattered to both teams and was huge.

I think the worry is the offense falters in the playoffs when teams go all in to stop the run/short game  and are willing to dare the Bills to win on the outside  Coordinators have months to come up with scheme to do it and do we have an answer?

Did the Chiefs just try to do this or did they not get the memo that the Bills have zero receivers that can get open down field?

Bills WR are 28th ranked in separation 20 yards or more.  Any casual football fan can tell you from their couch that the Bills Wr cannot separate.  28th in the NFL- is this acceptable with Josh Allem as your QB?

2. Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills (71.3%)

Shakir was open on 53 of 56 targets in 2023 and finished third in separation rate (94.6%). His target volume doubled in 2024 (115), but he still created 85 wide-open targets (third most). He caught 77 of those passes for 792 yards, both top-10 marks. He also recorded a 90.2 PFF receiving grade on those plays, gaining 30 first downs and catching three touchdown passes.

Shakir has been one of the best slot receivers in the league over the past two seasons, earning an 84.0 PFF receiving grade across 127 targets. Ninety-seven of those targets came within 9 yards of the line of scrimmage, where he racked up 92 catches for 818 yards. Shakir ranks in the top three in missed tackles forced (25), yards after contact (270) and yards after the catch per reception (7.7), and he boasts an 88.6 PFF receiving grade from that part of the field.

Like Marvin Mims Jr., Shakir is often targeted on screens. He caught 29 of his 31 screen targets for 189 yards in 2024. He finished fourth in receiving yards on screens, picked up eight first downs and scored twice, earning a fifth-ranked 83.5 PFF receiving grade on such plays.

Let's take a breath and look at what the offense is actually doing before we spiral over not getting a WR before the trade deadline.

Here are some facts that might help bring a little levity to the conversation:

Total Yards/Game: 385 – 1st in the NFL

Points/Game: 29.4 – 3rd in the NFL

Rushing Yards/Game: 161.5 – 1st in the NFL

Yards/Play: 6.1 – 3rd in the NFL

Passing Yards/Game: 224 – 14th in the NFL

Yards/Pass Attempt: 8.2 – 4th in the NFL

Yards/Rush: 5.0 – 4th in the NFL

Red Zone TD %: 67.74% – 9th in the NFL

Completion %: 69.9% – 7th in the NFL

Third Down Conversion: 45.65% – 5th in the NFL

These are damn good numbers. This offense is efficient, productive, and balanced. We’re top-tier in yards, points, and play efficiency. The passing game may not be flashy in total yards, but it’s highly efficient—top 5 in yards per attempt and completion percentage.

Could we have added a WR? Sure. But let’s not ignore what’s already working. This team is moving the ball, scoring points, and doing it with balance and precision.  And the WR room gets better with Palmer back into the fold and I do think Gabe Davis will help on those scramble drills which seem to be missing this year.

Let’s keep perspective. The season is long, and the offense is already doing more than enough to win games.

The offense isn’t doing enough to have the lead for the 1 seed or the divisional title thus far.

the offense hasn’t done enough historically to beat the Chiefs or Bengals in the playoffs.

I have questions if the offense is enough to win a game against the NFC opponent in the Super Bowl.

Folks seem to forget that even those Brady-Pats teams that didn’t win the Super Bowl were still stomping teams with bad QBs left and right (including us). That shouldn’t be the bar anymore.

the 2013 Pats had laughable outside weapons. Gronk got hurt. Their offense was 3rd in points. They lost in the AFCCG putting up a weak 16 points. They weren’t good enough to win the Super Bowl but they were good enough to win 12 games.

23-26, 275 is pretty cool against a great defense.

The offense is elite. It’s the reason we are a perennial super bowl contender. It’s the literal only reason we went from a joke to amazing. It’s absolutely mind blowing that BILLS FANS don’t get or appreciate this. We spend years fighting about JP Losman and Trent Edwards. Twenty years from now we will be sick thinking of how long we were great for and how we took it for granted. The defense IS THE PROBLEM. It’s been for 7 full years. All we ever have to do is make stops and we will win a Super Bowl. Nobody ever should be concerned or worried about the offense. Not only are they not a problem. They are an all time great. Fix the defense and we win a Super Bowl

The offense did have a chance to close out the game the last two years in the playoffs at the end of the game and came up empty.   Some blame does go to this elite offense.

Except when it counts.  Last two painful playoff exit takeaways- Dalton dropping the ball.  Diggs dropping the ball.

It's still on the D in the playoffs. Their numbers against the Chiefs on average are better in the playoffs on O and 2 TDs worse on D.

Both games the defense sucked.  But. Both playoff games, the Defense came up BIG and made the stops at the end of the game, to give the Offense a chance to win. And the Passing

offense, like they look often today, and yesterday, Bills Passing Offense was wonky.  Both times the Offense failed the Defense.  The Passing Offense was not complimentary.  These are the facts, Jack.  The offense failed at the end.

If offered that the Bills had 2:00 to go, down by 3, against Chiefs in the playoffs, Josh Allen, James Cook, OL- I would take that offer right now- my $ is on Josh.  Always.  That’s why I find the last two failures very hard to understand

It’s the same *****, over, and over, - there is no separation.  Josh extends plays, no one open. Rinse, repeat
