On “considering pardons”, I would be against pardoning Maxwell, as I was against pardoning the hardcore J6 perps and Joe Biden’s entire family tree.    Still, law enforcement in general has a long history of working deals, using confidential informants and letting very bad guys go in exchange for something else they perceive as valuable.  
 

On the level of pardons, most people seem to get upset when it’s the other guy pardoning, and apathetic when it’s their guy doing the pardon.  I think you’re probably in that camp.   I guess if Maxwell offered enough value in getting the really big fish in exchange for a pardon, it would get done and most people would move on, disgusted, feeling dirty but knowing it happens.   The challenge is there doesn’t seem to be any big fish to get.  Team Biden would have burned Republicans and anyone in Trumps orbit.  Team Trump would do the same, yet here we are.   Personally, I think evidence against powerful people was deep-sixxed, and/or kept for leverage by very powerful people in govt.

I don’t have a guy.  I was very critical of Biden. But I’ve lived in an autocratic country and I can tell what Project 2025 and Trumps maneuvers are about.  Kinda ends discussion to claim the other side can’t be trusted at all right?  How do you have a discussion.

I see myself as rational, and just responded to your suggestion that story about surveillance of GOP senators is as a “hoax”.  
 

From there you asked about the FBI and pardons.  If what I wrote is irrational, feel free to point out the irrational part.  I think it’s common knowledge and generally acceptable that this is how things work.  There is precious little purity involved, just deal-making and people doing all sorts of nasty  and distasteful stuff.  It’s not all bad, there are good people doing hard work too, but it really is what it is.

I called it a hoax to reflect how absurd it is to just call everything from the “other” party on here as a hoax.  It would be disingenuous to say that is not how left leaning narratives are portrayed on here.  Seems like you agree on that actually in a funny way. As for the pedo files it was the right who claimed for years that the left were pedophile child eating sex traffickers.  Epstein claimed Trump was his best friend.  Not Biden. I have no problem with anyone on the files to face justice.  But now maga seems to think this is not a real issue. I'm a few days in and still trying to unpack what you're saying.  All I can take away is that you don't think everything from one side or the other should be referred to as a 'hoax', though in this case you think that allegations of surveillance of GOP Senators is, indeed a hoax, that is to say, it never happened.   

 

Then, you refer to my 'mental gymnastics' when what I offered was the only truth we all can agree on: 

 

1.   Biden didn't release files. Trump has not released files. 

2.  Using your logic about 'way more to it', I offered that Biden would have burned Trump/GOP if possible.  I further offered that Trump would have burned Biden/Dems if possible. 

3. Since neither Biden nor Trump released, it stands to reason that either there is nothing in the files, or enough that either side releasing data results in mutually assured destruction.

 

I'm open to your view on what I am missing here, but it seems to me you've decided to hyper-fixate on the politics of word tracks and accusations to the detriment of applying simple common sense to this issue.
