We lost because of turnovers

We lost because of the refs

We lost because we couldn’t stop Diggs

We lost because we count run

i hate that we threw the RBs 1 pass the entire game

For as bad as we were the noncall on Shakir changed the game.  We get that call and we’re in great shape.

That was soooo DPI on Shakir it’s crazy they never even showed a slowed down replay on it.  The league benefits greatly off this Pats win.  The excitement in Boston over this game will translate into greater profit.

I was failed close to it in the stadium and it seemed to me that the defender came right through Shakir’s back.  Given how tightly the game was officiated I was VERY surprised that wasn’t called.

It was certainly clear the officials were looking for certain things to call while ignoring others. I hate having Hochuli as an official, he thinks he is the star of the show, each and every time I see him. Why the NFL thinks he does a good job is beyond me, he is terribly inconsistent.

Lotta people saying this, but Allen was out of the pocket. Once that the quarterback is out of the pocket, receivers are no longer protected from being contacted by defenders who are playing the ball. The Pats DB played the ball. No call was correct.

We got hosed by the refs, said it since the 1st quarter

I'm surprisingly not even mad about the loss

As I stated previously once I saw Hochuli I knew it was gonna be an awful game. He is just terrible at his job, he is out to prove you can call a foul on every single play.

Yup. I just hate flags for any team,  especially mine, that doesn't effect the play and then clear penalties that do effect the play aren't thrown,  drives me crazy

When a QB is out of the pocket there's no longer an illegal contact penalty, but DPI is still very much a thing.

It's true that defenders are allowed to make a play on the ball and incidental contact with a WR would not be a penalty.

On this particular play I don't think the defender was trying to catch the ball. He went through Shakir's back to swipe at the ball in an attempt to break it up.

Pretty easy DPI call - especially in a game called this tightly

Doesn’t matter if the defender caught the ball - or even tried to catch it. Whether or not it’s DPI or “no call” rests on whether the refs think the defender was playing the ball or not. The DB got his hand on the ball so it would be tough for me to say he wasn’t playing the ball.

The defender isn't allowed to make a play on the ball if it means going through the WRs back.

It's pretty cut and dry that it was a DPI the refs missed

Article 2. Prohibited Acts By Both Teams While The Ball Is In The Air

Acts that are pass interference include, but are not limited to:

(a) Contact by a player who is not playing the ball that restricts the opponent’s opportunity to make the catch;

(b) Playing through the back of an opponent in an attempt to make a play on the ball;

I think he was referring to the PI on tre with Diggs.  Tre barely touched him...with his chest...when Diggs was technically already out of the back of the endzone.

Thank you.  I raised this very issue in the GDT.
