Right, right…you don’t have to respond to everything you know? Sometimes it’s better to just hush…

Didn’t mean to trigger you. Can you believe it’s only 6 democrat jackasses that stand in the way of military folks and air traffic controllers getting paid? Don’t even get me started on SNAP.

That means negotiate...the other side of the mirror says there are 50 some Republicans standing in the way cause they won't strike a deal. Look at that, we're getting nowhere. Huh... This whole standoff plays into their power. It ignites people like you to be even more partisan. You're not demanding anything from Congress, the body. You're simply demanding movement from the other side. 1

My demanding they bend to my will isn’t going to change that. The only power I have is exercised in the voting booth - and at NO KINGS rallies. Dems voted for a clean CR earlier this year. The current shutdown is 100% on them and they need to end it. The comparison you draw in your first paragraph is idiotic. Yet such is the power of the filibuster. 1

You are under the false impression that the Democrats have leverage... They do not... In life, in business, and in politics, you have to recognize when you have zero leverage... You do what you have to do for your business, or in this case, your constituency, make a deal, and live to fight the next battle... The time being wasted here means that the time needed to address the pending insurance problem is also being wasted... Apply some long term thinking... This move by the Democrats is self-destructive...

This move by the Democrats is self-destructive... I have no idea what the "majority" of Trump supporters are in favor of and I don't care. I am in favor of the government working, since they take my tax money and all of the politicians work for me, they should be doing their job. Whether or not the dems have leverage is not really the point because they believe that they do. The healthcare issue is a big one and there is no end in sight to this massive American problem. So, if the dems really have zero leverage then this will clearly be detrimental to them in the midterms and apparently beyond. The time being wasted here is exactly the time that Congress could be hashing out an answer to the health care crisis, but, they're not. Do you really think the republicans have and answer for healthcare? The dems certainly don't. We won't get any relief until we put people in Congress that want to find a solution and fix the system or at least help people navigate it and have it cost less.

The actual numbers would be 54/46...your partisan math boils it down to 6. It helps if you're honest. That's the actual divide...maybe they should talk.

That's the actual divide...maybe they should talk. Not partisan math. Just facts. A handful of dems have already voted for the CR - just as they did earlier this year. Rand Paul has voted against. Everyone knows this. If Paul changes his mind that leaves only five more dems needed. If those 5 eventually do the right thing and it’s the republican holdout that stands in the way, I will gladly vilify him.
B-Man Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago The point of passing a clean CR is to keep the government open WHILE you negotiate a budget. NOT,why won't the GOP negotiate with us while we hold Americans hostage Apparently several of you here don't understand that. .

I would agree IF there were any reason to believe that the Republicans would negotiate anything. They passed the BBB with only Republican support, using the reconciliation process to jam it through. I doubt this is a good strategy on the part of the Democrats, but I get it. Like the Republicans under the start of Obama, they have leverage only through the budget process, and even worse through the debt ceiling.
