I’ve had one I’m working on for fitness…. I’ve never been able to do a pull up.  Even when I weighed 140 lbs or could run 5ks in 25-28 minutes.

I pretty much thought I was always helpless here until I started doing 3 sets of 10 pull ups with my feet on the ground…. I’m slowly building my way up to complete one.

But yeah as a kid I was embarrassed more than once how bad I was at them.. so yeah personal goal kinda thing

that is great! Keep at it!

I don’t do pull-ups much anymore because they give me elbow issues. But i will tell you a great machine at the gym is the assisted pull-up one. You can really work your way up from counter-weight assistance to doing them with no help. I feel like most gyms have that machine, if you belong anywhere.

I'm old with a bad back, a bad neck, bad knees, etc...........my only goal these days is just trying to stay alive with the least amount of pain possible.

I have an appointment with an ortho doc next week. They will confirm that my rotator cuff is currently shredded, then get me to PT. My goal is to do enough PT that I can get back on a tennis court and do my best, without having limitations (or pain!) created by my shoulder. It seems simple enough, but this is a battle I’ve been fighting for decades and I want to put it to rest. I just don’t heal the way I used to, so I need to make it happen.

I am willing to admit that I am an old guy but still working at being able to maintain a 3 minute mile on a varied course bike route. I am close at about 3:15/mile for 10 miles. I try to do about 10-15 miles/day but work and other stuff can interfere.
