muppy Posted September 11 Posted September 11 there is a ton of righteous anger against "the Left" in this thread. That a person was brutally murdered on a college campus is horrible. that school shootings are becoming so frequent is horrific beyond beyond There are subjects in which a sane person of either party should easily agree with each other on. Violence is IMO a reaction to frustration anger and criminal mindset all 3 combined. The fact that so many in this forum are branding an entire legion of people as evil, commie, whatever is not right it is also wrong where as a country will there ever be peace with such hater rhetoric flowing at each other. Yesterday it was posted that "the LEFT" are the ENEMY. I reacted badly. You are saying I am an enemy of this country. I certainly am NOT that. I may be many things but that is not one of them. so I apologize. Today I am just SAD. Sad that our country is in such political war, but that a young family man died. And I don't see a good or even Godly path forward This place is indicative of the hate that exists. Where violence against a woman is hoped for. Or a conservative pundit brutal murder is seemingly celebrated. And Please know there are God fearing people on the Left. here is a revolutionary thought that Jesus the Christ modeled Love your neighbor. Love your enemies. Love Wins where is the Godly Love that is missing from the world its not here. This forum is a cesspool. Why is that? It is a free speech zone indeed. You all can have it. It is folled with hate and contemot against people you really don't know I think Im going back to Praying and leave you all PPP heroes to fight it amongst yourselves. YOU love that at least right? Lord have mercy 1

There was an ungodly amount of money being funneled to import voters over the last two election cycles. Then prove it. Where is all of this free stuff? And, while we’re at it, why do I subsidize the thousand pound sisters? We should prioritize those who are here (citizens and legals). Things are way too expensive (electricity and food), and nobody’s doing a damn thing about it. But we also can’t be angry about every dime - you about immigrant kids, me about the thousand pound sisters. Now, if it turns out that an inordinate amount of money is spent on free “this and that” for illegals, then im with you all day. But let’s see what the numbers say and take it from there. 3 minutes ago, boyst said: Suck my johnson I promise you never said any of this when the pelosi, Biden, etc said all of this. @muppysee yourself out, the adults are talking. Offer rejected, to your likely chagrin. And again, you’re part of the problem when you paint so broadly. 1

Agreed. Drugs, lazy, obese, hopelessness. It’s not a racial issue at all. As much white as anything else.

Royale with Cheese Posted September 11 Posted September 11 2 minutes ago, Roundybout said: It’s not the governments job at all. But think about it: In the early 20th century, Black people were generally limited to mediocre jobs due to barriers to entry like limited education. In part due to policies like redlining, they were prohibited from getting mortgages in certain parts of cities and were limited to the slums. Now, when you’re stuck renting a derelict old house and working at the smelting yard for minimum wage, you’re not going to be able to leave anything behind you. Thus, your kids won’t have much. Black schools were historically worse than white ones, so the cycle continued. When you have no hope for the future, it’s easy to turn to living in the moment, riding with gangs and whatnot. About 8% of America’s millionaires are Black. Only 1% of Black Americans with a high school degree are projected to become millionaires. Even with a masters degree, they’re still the lowest chance of becoming a millionaire. https://balancingeverything.com/millionaire-statistics/ There’s no reason not to keep working on removing barriers to success. Well since I have direct experience with this lets comment. How did the other ethnic groups do it then? Every single woman in the ENTIRE US wasn't allowed to buy homes, own property, run for government positions, couldn't vote.....they were OPPRESSED at the same in the 20th century. Women weren't allowed to vote until 1920! 33% of millionaires today are women. The Jews are the richest subculture and they just went through a genocide 80 years ago. Again, there are more poor white people in this country and they aren't anywhere near as violent. Poor white people have had cycles continues. What hope do they have in the future? It seems you just want to play victim. Do you know why black schools aren't as good? It's because of the students. I used to teach at a predominately black school in Los Angeles. They couldn't keep teachers because they would steal from you, damage your car and straight up attack/threaten you. My car was keyed 4 times, my lunch was stolen all the time at my desk where I just stopped bringing food. I had my life threatened multiple times. I guess I'm racist for quitting and every teacher who doesn't want to deal with this is racist. So why its it white peoples fault that black schools aren't as good? Whose fault is that only 1% with HS degrees become millionaires? The system?

At some point the leveling has to stop - I had this conversation at length on law school, and there it obviously ends at the bar exam - but we are kidding ourselves if we think the kid on Grape St. starts out the same as the kid in Spaulding Lake. I didn't say that. I said he has the same opportunity if he wants to take that. Ben Carson's mom was illiterate. He became one of the most successful Doctors in the history of medicine. It was harder for him unfortunately, like a lot of kids who grew up poor regardless of race....but it can be done. Just because someone has to go through more adversity doesn't mean it can't be done. Not every white person grows up with a silver spoon or trust funds. I don't know a single person in my life that has a trust fund. Edited September 11 by Royale with Cheese 1

So you agree that, to some extent, we have to level the field at least at an early stage to give that kid on Grape St. a fair shot. What he does with it is on him. Just because one kid made it out of the hood doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to work to remove these barriers. Your story about the school was very good. I suspect, though, that the kids weren’t taking your lunch because they hated you, but because they were starving. 3 minutes ago, AlBUNDY4TDS said: Get a ged and go to college. Go to trade school. If the kid on Grape Street has a criminal record and bad grades....that's they systems fault? If the that same kid on Grape Street has no criminal record and good grades....what's stopping him from being successful? Does that mean that every single poor person isn't given a fair shot? People really don't realize this but there is significantly more poor white people in this country. 20 million white Americans live below the poverty line. 20 million that won't get a "fair shot". Johnny Rural is getting the same minimum wage job as your poor black person. 76% of white people make the federal minimum wage.
