I may be in the minority, but we have been drowned in Hamlin stories and articles and specials and commentary... and non of it is actually about how he plays football. It's an amazing journey his life took, but can we please finally stop with it?! We all know what he went through and what he over came and what he does for the community... It's almost like the team keeps him on because they think they owe him for when he died in a Bills uni. In my opinion, this story is passed. A sub par player should not be getting this much attention... ok, rant over

One thing I've come to realize is that the national media and non-Bills fans have a different perspective - they haven't been as close to it and for them the story is still a macro view where player dies on field, fights way back, and amazingly is back on the field to be celebrated as a hero.  Buffalo fans being so much closer to it have seen so much more coverage of it from the beginning for so long. In some ways I think the Bills fanbase is past that - and at this point he is just perceived/assessed based on his ability on the field today and treated as any other player would be (which in and of itself is a testament to what he has done)

Last year I had to smile during telecasts when broadcasts teams would go off on what a beloved hero Hamlin is in Buffalo and how joyous all Bills fans were to see him on the field..  In truth, while everybody appreciates the story of his survival and fight back, for those games many (most?) Bills fans only cared about how well (or badly) he was playing, whether he should even be on the field etc.  It doesn't take away from what he's accomplished, but for the most part I think Bills fans view is different from the national one

I would like to complain about this post....

I do feel the volume on my TV was too high for this episode.

not really enjoying this Hard Knocks.  feels boring and contrived imo.  i imagine non Bills fans think its a waste of time to watch.  you watched Hard Knocks to get behind the scenes.  all we're seeing is a commercial for the team.

If I wasn’t a Bills fan, I probably wouldn’t have watched past episode 1 this year.

It’s an edited, made for TV drama. Of course it’s contrived.

While this year's Hard Knocks is incredibly boring I agree with the posters saying boring is good for the Bills. No team wanted to be on the old, entertaining version of Hard Knocks with roster drama and cuts and all for the negative effect putting all that in public would have on the team. Bad for viewers is good for the Bills so I'll take it.
