As of today, I’d give up anyone on this team not named Josh Allen for an elite pass rusher. RE: the Bruce Smith and Reggie White comparisons, we obviously have the benefit of hindsight and those guys are hall of famers, so it’s a bit unfair to compare two of the best ever to a guy a few years into his career. That said, what if I told you Parsons is only 26 years old, played only 4 seasons, and already has over 1/4 (52.5) of Bruce Smith’s career NFL record 200 sacks (accumulated over 19 years)? Bruce Smith is my favorite Bill of all time, and Parsons has a long way to go to sniff that record, but he’s on his way to a hall of fame career if he stays healthy, and a guy you absolutely take a swing at if given the opportunity. As I said he's a pass rushing specialist The game has changed so much since the 1980s yeah him or Myles Garrett probably have the most realistic chance to break Bruce's record But Myles Garrett is way ahead of Parsons as a football player.. I would give that for Garrett Parsons is exceptional when you're playing with a lead.. you're playing from behind he's not the same because you can run right at him and wear him down He obviously is a tremendous pure pass rusher though Edited August 29 by Buffalo716 2 1 Quote

Yeah, it would’ve been steep, but worth the swing for me. We already have the franchise QB. He needs help and the defense typically wilts in the biggest games, failing to get home. Parsons would’ve solved that for us and then some. For years we’ve lacked a legit answer to our pass rush. Sick of watching Mahomes prance around untouched or unfazed in the biggest games. Dont get me wrong, he would have helped us from a player stand point. And I have been very vocal about how our D is our biggest issue. But I also don't think he is worth that much money and how it would impact the roster moving forward. I also am high on our draft class on the D this year personally. I think we were right there last year, and honestly the refs flipped the game 11-15 points in the middle of the 4th in a game we lost by 3. So we were the better team last year IMHO and I think we got better this offseason than we were last year. 1 Quote

My contention is that we’d be playing with the lead quite often with a guy like Josh, allowing us to get the most out of him. 10 hours ago, Alphadawg7 said: I also am high on our draft class on the D this year personally. I am too. I think Hairston is going to be a player. I’m also really high on the two DTs based on what they showed in preseason. Imagine if Deone Walker is consistently anywhere near the problem he was for offensive lines in preseason. 🤤 1 Quote
Talley56 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Looking at Green Bay's schedule: Minn X2, Detroit X2, Philly, Washington, Balt, Pittsburgh, Cincy, Denver..... Micah could be the difference between a win and a loss in any of these. Quote

I think both will make strong impacts this year, and if they are impacting the game guys like Oliver and our edge guys like Groot, Bosa, etc are all going to be better. And if a guy like Walker can command double teams it also makes life better for Bernard and Milano. And that dominos to the secondary, if we are being more disruptive upfront it makes life better on the secondary. The counter balance to that optimism is that they are still young, we are still playing in a rotation, but I do think they are going to be impactful as rookies. And our 2 guys coming off suspension after week 6 are guys who will contribute as well and will be coming in with fresh legs. So I am pretty optimistic right now about our defense, even with my concerns at Safety. 2 Quote
