Illegal immigration has been a hot button issue for decades, and he less 'exploited' than came up with a plan to address a long simmering problem. If any politician in recent memory exploited anything, it was the Biden Free Pass crowd. That resonated with voters as we saw the typical lefty cities--long on demanding open borders and pointing to how great it was for everybody---roll up into a ball 15 minutes after they were asked to feed/shelter/house a couple bus loads of people looking for a better life. Unionization is one solution, but not the only one. Offer jobs/benefits at a reasonable rate, said rate to be determined by the ability to find workers to do the work. Liberals are going to have to pay more, probably, but consider the deep discount all these years with the exploitation of low wages for people flying under the radar. 1
