It absolutely is.

Everything I wrote is true. What do you not believe specifically?  We’re talking about a biz where bait and switch is a core principle…

but I agree with consensus that blitz post was stuid.

They wanted me in a short term lease. They make more if you trade every couple years.  Then they get you on the residual. Then they get you on financing . Then they get you on wear and tear. I once returned a low clearance sports car that they charged me $300 for scratches under the bumper!  It’s shady business. And they’ll show just about anybody anything on the lot.

I once had a very wealthy patient who always wore overalls and had a chaw of tobacco in. He went to the merc dealer and was looking around. The salesman told him not to worry. He couldn’t afford them. He spit tobacco juice on one and said “I’ll take this one”.

Like I said they prefer that you finance or lease because as you noted it's better for them.

That doesn't refute anything I said about that post being absolute nonsense.

Edit; I should clarify: I mean that "tweet" is nonsense.

Guys if you finance, you can still just pay off the loan right away. Just make sure there are not penalties for paying early (I havent seen them recently in anything I have done but that used to be out there)

Also, not trying to deflect from the other point being made as it is certainly weird that they wouldnt take cash for a car.

You’re never going to win. Globalism and liberalism always wins.

You cannot address the challenges of the future with the ideology of the past.

The country has always been “liberal.”

It was founded on liberal ideals.

What the Democrat party and the deep blue ***t holes it runs has transformed into resembles the exact type of tyrannical governance that fast tracks you to authoritarian rule.

In all of human history AUTHORITARIANISM is the type of government that ALWAYS wins.

“Liberal” governance we created at the founding is a blip on the radar that can vanish in an instant - most likely because the citizens no longer understand that and forgot you have to fight to keep it from destruction because it DOES NOT ALWAYS WIN.

You don’t get this.  No partisan Democrat does or they just don’t care.

No idea what the heck you mean by “globalism” and it always winning.

Human history teaches us tyranny is what always wins.

I think you misunderstood.

I was agreeing with yall's post, which referred to the kid's silly claim, which was ridiculous.

Not your experience.

There is some validity to it.

Covid happened. The economy was dead in the water.

About six trillion dollars was created to keep things afloat, in my estimation, four trillion of that was a mistake.

Now you have all these new $'s chasing non expanding supply, especially in the housing market, causing non traditional increases in cost, which attracts further spending in that area of the economy, resulting in disproportionate price increases.

Saving things comes at a cost.

This is from a year ago - and you left out a significant piece of info:

While the homeownership rate for adult Gen Zers has stagnated, a majority of them are still outpacing young people of the past.

The homeownership rates for 19-to-25-year-old Gen Zers are higher than the homeownership rates were for millennials and Gen Xers when they were the same age. For example, the rate for 24-year-old Gen Zers is 27.8%, compared with 24.5% for millennials when they were 24 and 23.5% of Gen Xers when they were 24.

This is likely because many Gen Z homeowners bought during the pandemic, when mortgage rates hit a record low. When many millennials were in their early twenties, many were struggling to find work due to the Great Recession, which made it harder to afford a home.

Anyone under 25 is completely f….ed - most importantly will not be having more then 1 child if any.

What a life we’re leaving for them.

In other words: Than you, Dr. Fauci, for enabling these kids to become homeowners at an unusually young age.

Speak for yourself. I have kids still under 25. I expect them to do perfectly fine, and then someday to inherit whatever my wife and I have saved (the whole "generational wealth" thing). Sometimes too much too soon isn't a good thing. Working for it puts iron in your soul.

That’s pretty wild.

Ok then…

I also have kids under 25.

Not one thing that concerns me about the country and what I post about is with them solely in mind.  My concern is EVERYONE.

I won’t hide behind my “privilege” like so many others I know and say “oh well, I’m doing fine.”   Nothing disgusts me more especially when it’s coming from a liberal.

My concern is the aggregate.  And barring significant changes - one of which is your Master Fed Chair that gave a middle finger to everyone again today bc politics, so that’s awesome - they are worse off then their parents and anyone that disputes that definitely wore a mask and social distanced to the letter.  Still today probably.

Something that should also disgust you.

You just got done telling me that ultra low interest rates set by Jerome Powell & Co. during COVID allowed a lot of very young Gen Z'ers to buy houses.

Those kids without college degrees are welcome to work for ICE where they'll get a 50K sign up bonus.

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/07/30/ice-recruitment-donald-trump-00484885

Within a few years they can be making $120K/year and work toward retirement in their early to mid-50s. Rough living on that in NYC, so just apply for Buffalo, Detroit, etc. An ICE deportation officer married to a teacher will quickly hit 200K and have superb health care benefits, etc.

Now tell me: Why can't they afford a house?
