It's a rookie's first week of practice, trying to defend the world's best QB while he's wearing red. I feel like this isn't factored in enough when we talk about the defense in practice. They line up against Josh Freaking Allen every day. Of course they are gonna get their tail kicked. When it comes to a guy like Max, going against our all universe, MVP, Superman of a QB day in and day out is going to help him in the long run. Come time for the regular season, yes we have Lamar first...but that's followed up with games against Justin Fields, Tua and whomever is the winner of the Saints job. Even if he's taking some lumps now...I think he will feast come game time against the lesser QBs of the league. Get him all the experience we can in time for him to be razor sharp for January. 4 1 Quote

Keon has that capability - he flashed before. And it is not a high percentage play to be honest. But there are times that is the ONLY play available, espectially playing against a good defensive team in the playoff. We need that play to get to 50% completion level. Yes, we obviously want our WRs to be able to separate and that was not exactly Keon's calling card in college and doesn't really project to be a calling card in the pros. But we've seen so many times over the years even guys like Diggs who are considered to be among the best separators in the league can struggle to separate in the playoffs against some of the more handsy DBs. You don't want these types of contested balls to be what the offense is built around, but if Keon becomes good at it, it makes for a very nice last resort kind of thing. 1 Quote

We've all seen playoff games where none of our guys can get open. Sometimes that's because the refs are allowing more contact in that game than usual. It's important to have SOMEONE who can still make a catch in that situation. Yes, I know Coleman's contested catch numbers aren't amazing, and I'd love if they were better. But he at least has the skillset. Diggs in particular was absolutely incapable of making a contested catch with us. That didn't matter much in games where he was torching the secondary, but it became a real handicap in those playoff games where he couldn't get open. Quote
Ben Posted Monday at 05:32 PM Posted Monday at 05:32 PM Elijah moore is a legit 4.3 guy. If Samuel is finally 100% we have some legit speed to separate Quote

This "everyone eats" can be very interesting IF Brady indeed uses it to its max. 1 Quote
