He can still master the playbook and he knows where to go with each throw, so he looks great wearing a red jersey. But put him on the field with young fire-eaters coming full-speed-ahead for his liver and lungs, and it all falls apart. I could be wrong, but I don't think a team will manage to keep Pickett on the practice squad. Guy had a winning record, completed 63% of his passes, and threw more TDs than INT (though only slightly) in 2 years at Pittsburgh. If Cleveland wants to keep him as an option, they'll need to find a roster spot for him. Edit: Pittsburgh has a pretty storied history of good personnel decisions, but I have to wonder if Pickett isn't going to prove to be their Geno Smith. Kenny Pickett will go to the Raiders and become Kenny Plunkett... 2 Quote

I think Sanders is the best if a bad bunch. If Browns start off 0-4 with Flacco, Sanders could get a start. The fans will be clamoring for Sanders Quote

And yet he is not gonna get a shot at the job. Only in Cleveland. I don't follow this stuff much. I know there was some drama about him sliding in the draft and thats about all. Why wouldn't he get a shot? On 5/28/2025 at 6:48 PM, GunnerBill said: We will see. If Flacco starts this year it will be a walking disaster. I guarantee you. I agree. Flacco is a walking corpse at this point. He might make a couple plays but it's not going to be good football. Quote

The Browns used the 3rd round pick they got from the Bills for him. My guess is that they will try to trade Pickett for whatever they could get for him and go with Flacco, Gabriel, and Sanders. They won't risk putting Gabriel and Sanders through waivers where chances are pretty good someone will pick them up. New Orleans would be a good fit for Pickett. Then need QB help and he has history with the new coaching staff there. 1 Quote
