And Democrats are going to make a case to the American people living paycheck to paycheck to paycheck or handout to handout the federal government can spend however much it wants?

 

 

Good luck with that.  
 

And in no way am I circle jerking to the bill.  It’s the best solution for the moment.  It’s imperfect.  But it’s far better than what Democrats would do to this country.

The govt has been giving tax breaks to the wealthy since forever. They can buy influence unfortunately. Both dems and republican are guilty.

All they really needed to do was extend the TCJA and defund some of Biden's big spending ineffective programs.  However, they took care of their SALT buddies.  Now a guy working as a car mechanic in Alabama can subsidize a doctor in NY making $450k a year.  No taxes on tips and no taxes on overtime means that workers who don't work for tips or are offered overtime can subsidize those who do.  Now the bill will pass and fiscal conservatives will raise their hands in the air and say "well, we had to make concessions to make it through because of the slim majority."  Basically, business as usual.  That's fine but let's not pretend Trump isn't part of the establishment when this bill goes through.

DOGE was amazingly ... inefficient.

Look at the proposed defense budget. Remember when Elon said "Defense is next." Umm, right.

 

Do we have any idea what the Golden Dome will cost when all is said and done? Whether it is considered a vital defense interest? Whether it is actually workable with current technology? And that's just the biggest one of many, many others.
