Homelander Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Let’s talk about the Republican 2025 Tax Bill, and let’s call it what it is: a Big Beautiful Betrayal that sacrifices the future of our country just to give billionaires another handout. This isn’t conservatism. This is a cult of economic delusion, mimicking the reckless populism of Peronist Argentina or the brutal central planning of Maoist China. It’s economic fantasy with no regard for reality, no respect for working people, and no understanding of how a stable economy functions. This bill is a disaster that no one will be able to clean up once the damage is done. It will leave us with broken institutions, terrified creditors, and a mountain of debt - all dumped by a party that constantly preaches “you can’t keep spending other people’s money,” while blowing through everyone else’s money at record speed. Key horrors of the GOP’s 2025 Tax Bill: $500 billion in Medicare cuts: This bill will slash healthcare access for the most vulnerable, with 8 million people losing Medicaid coverage alone. And let’s be clear: this is a direct attack on the poor and sick. Tax giveaways to billionaires: While working families face tax hikes, this bill gifts $5 trillion in tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans who don’t need it, and don’t even want it. These cuts will only exacerbate our national debt and economic inequality. New taxes on working people: There’s no break for the average American. In fact, taxes for working and middle-class families will increase over time, with the burden falling hardest on those already struggling to make ends meet. Disastrous policies for healthcare and social services: This bill will kick 14 million people off their healthcare and make life even harder for those relying on SNAP and other vital support services. Meanwhile, children lose out on the Child Tax Credit - 20 million children in total will suffer. Behind closed doors, the GOP Moves at 1am: The Republicans are so proud of this bill, they’re pushing it through with no transparency, no debate, and no chance for the public to weigh in. The GOP doesn’t care about democracy; they care about serving their corporate donors and keeping their wealthy backers happy. The scorched earth of fiscal irresponsibility: The GOP is mortgaging the future to fund tax breaks for billionaires, all while pretending it’s a good thing. The credit rating agencies are already sounding the alarm as our debt explodes, with Trump’s tariffs and the Big Beautiful Bill sending our deficit into freefall. We are heading straight for economic ruin, with no plan to recover. Let’s not sugarcoat it. This tax bill takes healthcare from millions, slashes Medicare and Medicaid, and denies the poor the assistance they need to survive. And in return? The wealthiest Americans get richer, while the rest of us drown in debt. The bottom line: The GOP’s Big Ugly Bill is a betrayal of the American people. It's time to wake up, hold these people accountable, and fight for the future of our children and our country before it’s too late.

By your logic then it matches the Obama care act something you can't clean up once it's instated which added trillions to the deficit oh and if Ole Joe and his buddies had their way they would be paying off all the school debt thank goodness no body allowed that great POS to go through but you would never have said anything bad about something as ignorant asa that spending now would you ??? Hate, Biased, fear mongering, is the democratic way in the Homeland !!
LDD Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The jaw dropper for me is that people voted for this. I know some MAGA voters who literally LOST their jobs in the federal gov't and/or were reclassified and now make less money and work more and they believe that it's some type of sacrifice. Meanwhile, back in Gotham, this bill adds like 3 trillion to the deficit. 1 minute ago, T master said: Hate, Biased, fear mongering, is the democratic way in the Homeland !! Balancing the budget is like many other things back in the day that were much better then than now . There will never be another balanced budget in America it's gotten to far out of hand and no amount of common sense will fix it . If the US gov't was or could actually fix or balance the budget and pay down the debt that the past POTUS have put this country in if you think there is hatred, biased, about Trump it would be 100 times that because the entitlement mind set of the people is rampant & would be completely gone because they would have to sacrifice and that ain't happening today . We have 20 somethings that sit in their internet coffee shops and complain how bad it is to live in America while they drink their $12 Latte and all that they have to live through as tough as they have it today . It's a cry baby world we live in today that everyone is expected to get a trophy weather they participate or just sit and watch . Edited 9 hours ago by T master

Well apparently you set a good example for your kids which is awesome, my kid and grand kids are the same and I have no hatred for any one ! That's a bit strong but that's the way most people that have a different view than my old school train of thought see it . That being said if you don't think there is an entitlement mind set that has swept this country compared to say just 60 short years ago you need to open your eyes or get glasses one ! How many younger kids do you see today that are raking leaves or mowing lawns or working on a farm or getting a job as a masons tender in the summer months when they are off or hell just taking the garbage out . I'll wait for your answer . Hell they have even all but removed any kind of learning of skilled trades in high schools ! We use to have the opportunity to take shop classes like metal shop, wood shop, small engines repair, & some construction classes then if you wanted they would send us to a specialty school that taught things like HVAC, and Diesel mechanics if we wanted to pursue a career in those fields but now computers are pretty much it in some way shape or form . Which is why immigration illegal or other wise is so important to the lazy younger Americans because physical labor is another thing of the past . But maybe that's just me ? If you think I'm kidding go out & look at a roofing crew and see how many white people are on the crew, look at land scrapers and brick masons, tile setters, housing framers, concrete crews and see how many young white or black Americans are on those crews compared to 60 years ago . I just stating fact from the many kids that I see today & in the not to distant past that sit around with their faces stuck in a iPad, game boy, or when you go to a family function and everyone is sitting around with their "Smart Phones" looking at social media or texting someone that's in the same house or room as they are in . Just seeing things the way they are or as we use to say back in the day "calling it the way I see it" my friend, no hatred here but you can spin it any way you would like because that is what you do ...

Then, why cut necessities for people like Medicare, medical research, public foundations, education etc...? The appearance of that seems to be to fund billionaire tax cuts. 1

They all have $1000 phones, the latest tech gadgets, cars, flat screen TVs and then complain how they don't make enough money. This is the most affluent time to be alive in history. Cost of living is extremely high especially for essentials like housing and food. All of my nieces and nephews are working their asses off too and not hanging out at Starbucks or living an opulent lifestyle. The affluence is concentrated in a small fraction of the population and this bill greatly worsen this economic inequality.

You think Americans can handle entitlements and subsidies being removed? Homelander is, as usual, not being honest, but there will be work requirements and other validating factors for subsidies and entitlements that can be spun as “killing the poors”. I actually do believe we should have a strong societal safety net. I also believe is strong borders and requirements to be met in order to not have that safety net be an albatross for middle/upper middle class America. Cant have it both ways. Well, we can, but we keep accelerating towards a fiscal cliff.
Joe Ferguson forever Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The Medicare cuts were news to me. This except explains it: If enacted, the Republican bill would add trillions of dollars to the deficit over the next decade by delivering another round of tax cuts skewed to the rich, partially offset by huge cuts to Medicaid and other programs. According to the CBO, the bill's addition to the deficit would trigger a process known as sequestration under the Statutory Pay‑As‑You‑Go (PAYGO) Act of 2010, a law long reviled by progressives that requires spending cuts equal to legislation's average deficit impact. Unless lawmakers offset the deficit impact of the Republican bill or agree to waive the PAYGO requirements—which the GOP measure does not do—the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) "would be required to issue a sequestration order not more than 14 days after the end of the current session of Congress (excluding weekends and holidays) to reduce spending by $230 billion in fiscal year 2026," the CBO said. "The deficit will explode so badly it will trigger automatic cuts, including over half a trillion dollars from Medicare." Under PAYGO, automatic Medicare cuts are capped at 4%. The CBO estimates that the Republican legislation would trigger roughly $45 billion in Medicare cuts in 2026 and a total of $490 billion in cuts to the program between 2027 and 2034. "This Republican budget bill is one of the most expensive—and dangerous—bills Congress has seen in decades," said Boyle, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee. "The nonpartisan CBO makes it clear: The deficit will explode so badly it will trigger automatic cuts, including over half a trillion dollars from Medicare." "This is what Republicans do—pay for massive tax breaks for billionaires by going after programs families rely on the most: Medicaid, food assistance, and now Medicare," Boyle added. "It's reckless, dishonest, and deeply harmful to the middle class." remember that trump specifically promised not to touch medicare. if both medicaid and medicare cuts occur, there will be even faster closures of hospitals and clinics nationwide but especially in poor areas. that will affect the commercially insured in these areas also due to less access to care.
