Clothe them, feed them if in need, but don't support illegal activity and claim the Bible supports it. You keep throwing around “illegal activity” as if immigration status erases someone’s humanity. It doesn’t and the bishops said exactly that. That’s what you’re dodging. Biblically, the command is simple: care for the stranger, the foreigner, the vulnerable - full stop. There’s no asterisk that says “only if their paperwork is correct" and the bishops didn’t call for “supporting illegal activity.” They condemned cruelty, fear, family separation, and dehumanizing policies all things the Bible explicitly rejects. You can talk about doctrine all you want, but you’re deflecting from the actual point: the bishops publicly rebuked Trump and Vance. Not Biden. Not Pelosi. Trump. And Vance. You can pretend that’s about “politics,” but the bishops themselves said they are speaking out because of Christian moral teaching, not party loyalty. Citizenship and residency are granted almost exclusively to those who perform official duties for the Holy See or the Vatican government, such as clergy, Swiss Guards, and their families. While Pope Francis has supported settling refugees with communities elsewhere, they are not settled within the Vatican's walls. Pope Leo, tear down those Vatican City Walls! (ironically built by the order of Pope Leo IV)
